Chapter 2
That night, Victoria was reading a book while listening to music when from the corner of her eye, her mom bursted in to the room. She yanked one of her earbuds out of her right ear, confused as to why her made such an extreme entrance. "Ma, what is it?", she asked. "The sandwich shop just exploded!", Mrs. Delmar exclaimed. Victoria froze. Her dad was still working at the shop that night. Alarmed, she put her shoes on and went with her mom, and younger brother Max to the scene of the explosion.
Once they arrived, they saw Mr. Delmar sitting near the ambulance truck with Murph beside him. "Are you okay?" Mrs. Delmar asked her husband. "Yeah, I'm fine. That spider kid got me out of there just in time", he replied.
"And we missed him?", Max whined.
"That's a shame. I would've thanked him for getting you out of there alive", Mrs. Delmar said.

"Hey, Victoria, I'm sorry about your dad's store. I heard on the news that it blew up", Victoria's classmate Julia told her during their dance class.
"Yeah", she said. Having the the sandwich shop explosion on the news was as worst as having other students talk about it at school. Victoria was already frustrated about the whole situation because it didn't help that her parents were stressed and arguing about being able to afford repairs to the shop. "I heard about what happened at Delmar's", Peter said to her. "What? Does the entire school know about my dad nearly getting blown up?", Victoria asked defensively. "They might as well look up my social security number!"
"Okay, chill, I was just trying to give you my sympathy".
"Right. I'm sorry", she sighed. "It's just that my family's been distraught about the sandwich shop, so I'm kind of on edge".
"I understand"
"Apparently, Spider-Man got him out of there. I just wished I got a chance to thank him", Victoria said.
"Well, I'm sure he would've appreciated it", Peter said.

After school, Victoria walked around the streets and brought a hot dog. She went through an alleyway when stopped at the sight of Peter wearing Spider-Man costume. It wasn't like the ones that character performers wore at Time Square, it was an authentic costume. He was Spider-Man. Victoria's widened eyes as they met his and she dropped her bottle of Coca-Cola.
