Yes, you read that title correctly! After a few months of back and forth, I've decided to host a cover contest for this book-the first one I have ever hosted!  If you wish to know how to enter and what is expected, please see below!

Rules:

1. Deadline to submit entries is June 7th, which means three weeks from today (May 17) is when the final submissions are due. Entries submitted past this date will not be eligible for prizes, unless the event comes to pass that the original deadline is extended.

2. Covers must be made to be used for Wattpad so make sure your dimensions are correct.

3. Entries must be the work of the contestant, if any contestant is discovered to have stolen a graphic made by another person or blatantly ripped off the style of another they will be removed from this contest.

4. Covers must contain the following: the title of the book which is Brutalis, the subtitle which reads "a castle enchanted by a witch's curse can only keep someone safe for so long" and the author's name, (Jamie Blackmarr)  Outside of these requirements designers are free to do whatever they like with their entries. I want to see how creative you folks can be!

Now that we have rules out of the way, it's time to get to judging criteria!

Judging:

There are two main items that entries will be judged on, the foremost one being whether or not I feel they fit the book (because that's part of what a cover is supposed to do) , but also on the apparent skill of the designer based on blending, fonts used, functionality of the design and other things of that nature.

Prizes:

There will be three winners of this contest:

First place will have their cover used for a month, as well have their graphics advertised via my wall and if they wish, to be featured as a guest writer in this booklet when I cover the topic of how to get your works noticed.

Second place will have their cover used for a month as well, after the first place winner has reached the end of their promised time.

Third place will have their cover used for two weeks after the second place winner has reached the end of their time.

Other Items to Note:

-This story falls into the New Adult Fantasy Genre and is set in a medieval-inspired world. (If the mention of a castle and witch in the subtitle didn't give it away already!)

-If you wish to have more information about the overall feel of the story, go to my profile and click on the story Brutalis which has the word "rewrite" next to the title in all CAPS and is in parentheses, this is the story that this contest is centering on and what entrants will be creating a cover for. There you'll be able to view the summary and even read a few chapters if you decide you want to do that.

-Note that the above is not required, but only stated in case a prospective entrant wants more information about the story.

-I am hoping to announce the winners a week after the final deadline, but depending on the volume of entries that could turn out to not be feasible. If that is the case, I will let you all know as soon as humanly possible.
