Note: I DO NOT own Amphibia or Marvel Comics so don't report me, this is for entertainment purposes only. Also, I'd like you to know that the second half of this chapter will be super violent and may bring you to tears. With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

It's been a week since Anne and the Plantars began their journey to Newtopia.

Anne was sitting beside Hop Pop, checking her phone. She swipes through her photos before stopping upon a picture of the destroyed Toad Tower.

Anne: Guys? Did any of you take a pic of Toad Tower with my phone?

Polly: That was me. Wanted a little reminder of how we messed those toads up!

Hop Pop: Heh. Sure did.

Sprig: I've been working on a song based on the battle.

He says before taking out his fiddle and clearing his throat before he started singing and playing the fiddle.

Sprig: There was a little frog who stood for revolution, the toads didn't like that so they tried to execute him! But thankfully our Anne stepped up to take the tower! And she saved Hop Pop who mostly hid and cowered!

That last line making Hop Pop upset as the little pink frog continued his song.

Sprig: And cowered and cowered and cowered and cowered-

Hop Pop: Alright, that's enough!

Anne: Great song, dude.

Polly: Yeah, that was awesome.

Hop Pop: What?! Awesome?! It was missing all the context! Like what about the time I ran for mayor? Or that time I stood up to those nasty tax collectors?

Anne: That last part was me, Hop Pop. Cut out some toads' hand, foot and eye, remember?

Hop Pop: True. But you get my point.

He sighs.

Hop Pop: Feels like just yesterday people thought I was a revolutionary hero.

He says, feeling down before noticing something up ahead.

Hop Pop: Heads up, gang! We're about to stop at our first town.

He says as they approached the town sign which reads; "Gittyburg."

Anne: Cool, our first tien outside of Wartwood. I wonder what-woah!

She says upon seeing that Gittyburg was literally a small town with tiny frog people and small buildings, at least compared to her.

Anne: Wow. Wasn't expecting this.

She said as Hop Pop feeds Bessie as well as giving her some water to drink. But then they all heard some commotion as they looked to see some of the tiny frogs being harassed by a blue toad wearing cowboy style clothes.

The toad kicks one of the tiny frogs, sending him flying into the air as Anne quickly catches him.

Toad: All right. Y'all know the rules. Pay me and no one gets hurt.

He said as the tiny frogs got out their coins, which were rather large in comparison to their size.

Toad: That's right, pay up and keep it coming.

Tiny Frog Man: Sorry, Mr. Judro, sir, but I need the money for my boy, Bailey. He's been very sick and-

He was cut off by his tinier son coughing.

Tiny Frog Man: Oh son.

He says before Judro grabs him.

Bailey: Papa!

Judro: I don't want your excuses. I want your money.

He says before shaking the tiny frog as a bunch of coins fall out of his pockets, making the blue toad laugh as every gasps in shock.

Anne lets out a low growl as she approaches him, getting the toad's attention.

Anne: Who the hell do you think you are, toad?

Judro: I'm Judro Hasselback.

He says, letting go of Bailey's dad as he turns to face the young mutant.

Judro: And this here's my town. Who the heck are you?

Anne: Name's Anne Howlett-Boonchuy. The mutant that's gonna kick your ass.

Judro: Hah! Like you could-

He was cut off by Anne punching him in the face, sending him flying a few feet back.

Judro was shocked by this as blood dripped from his mouth.

Judro: You . . . you'll pay for this!

Anne: I doubt it.

She says as Judro runs off.

Bailey: You saved us, lady.

The tiny frog said as he hugs Anne's ankle.

Anne: Hm?

Bailey: Three cheers for Anne Howlett-Boonchuy!

He said as a bunch of tiny frogs managed to lift and carry Anne to the town center, cheering for her.

Hop Pop: That was a mighty thing you did there, Anne.

Sprig: Go, Anne!

Anne: Hey, come on guys, it was nothing. That guy was a pushover. Not like those guys from toad tower.

She said as the tiny frogs gasped in surprise.

Bailey: You stood up to Toads? Tell us the story. Please? Please?

The tiny frog begged as Anne smiles.

Anne: Okay, okay, I'll you there story.

She says before sitting down as everyone listens.

Anne: So it pretty much started out as a normal day until three toads came to Wartwood to collect the town taxes. I thought I'd join them so I could get the town's respect. But boy was I wrong. Those toads went to every house they could, trashing up the places and even taking people's personal property. Then those toads went to the Plantar's farm and they were gonna steal our snail, Bessie.

She says, pointing towards Bessie, who just looks at the young mutant with a head tilt.

Anne: So I had enough and stood up to them. One tried to get me but I punched her square in the face. Then two of them went to attack me only for me to pop out my claws here . . .

She says, showing them her adamantium claws as the tiny frogs looked at them in awe.

Anne: . . . and I cut one toad's hand off, and then cut off the second one's foot! But the third toad came swinging a warhammer at me, sending me flying! He came charging in with his warhammer but I used my claws to slice that hammer to pieces before slicing one of his eyes out!

She says dramatically as everyone gasped.

Anne: In the end, I kicked those no good toads out of Wartwood with their pride in shatters.

She said, finishing her shortened version of the story as the tiny frogs clapped and cheered for the young mutant.

Bailey: Hooray for Anne Howlett-Boonchuy, here to protect us from the ruthless Hasselback Gang!

He said, his words catching Anne's attention.

Anne: Gang?

Judro: Anne Howlett-Boonchuy!

Yelled the blue toad as Anne turns to see that he wasn't alone.

The tiny frogs gasped as they hid behind Anne.

Judro: Hoo-wee! You done asked for it, so here it comes. This here's the Hasselback Gang. My brother Heathro, half-sister Ruth, uncle Talbert and, of course, the matriarch herself, Mama Hasselback!

He says, introducing his family gang as Mama Hasselback, a large old toad steps up armed with a large rolling pin.

Mama Hasselback: You the freak who dare throw my Judro out of town?

Anne: So what if I did?

Bailey: Yeah! She'll throw you out of town too! Right, Anne?

He said as the tiny frogs all cheered for Anne as Mama Hasselback just laughs.

Mama Hasselback: Now this I gotta see.

She says, sitting on the ground with her legs criss-crossed.

Anne: Alright, you asked for it.

She says before grabbing hold of the large old toad before using all her strength, tossing Mama Hasselback several feet into the air as she hits her head on a rock.

Judro: What?! No way! How can someone of yer size do that?!

Anne: Trust me, it would've been easier if she wasn't such a fat ass.

Judro: How dare you talk to Mama Hasselback like that! Get her!

He yelled as the 4 amphibians charged in to attack the young mutant. Anne just smirked as she raises her fists like a boxer.

Judro goes in for a punch only for Anne to block it with one arm before using her free hand to punch him, knocking him to the ground as her adamantium knuckles broke several of his teeth.

Heathro goes in to attack as well only for Anne to hit him in the face with a judo kick, knocking him to the ground with a bloody nose.

Heathro: Her bones feel like iron . . .

He says, grasping his nose in pain as Talbert charges in only to get punched by Anne.

Next up was Ruth as the only newt member of the gang charges towards Anne with a knife in each hand.

Anne then pops out her adamantium claws, surprising Ruth as the young mutant swats the knives out of the newt's hands before hitting her with a headbutt.

Ruth's nose was broken, blood leaking from her nostrils as she fell to the ground unconscious.

Anne: That takes care of tha-

She was cut off by a tongue hitting her as she was sent flying into one of the tiny buildings, destroying it.

Anne: The hell!?

She yelled as Mama Hasselback laughed.

Anne: Afraid to face me head on?

Mama Hasselback: Hah! I ain't afraid of nothin, little girl!

She said as Anne thought of something that made her chuckle.

Mama Hasselback: What're you laughin about!?

Anne: Nothing, it's just that you remind me of someone from the Mutant Brotherhood. Guy's name is Blob, he was even fatter than you. I bet you'd make a cute couple.

Anne says sarcastically before bursting out with laughter as Mama Hasselback looks at Anne with rage and fury in her eyes.

Mama Hasselback: Little girl, I'm gonna kill you!

She yells before charging towards Anne with her rolling pin. Anne dodges the pin as it hits the ground, cracking it.

Anne then uses her claws to slice the rolling pin in half, but the elderly toad wouldn't lose so easily as she punches Anne several feet away.

Mama Hasselback: Come here you little runt!

She yelled as she jumps Anne, punching her a few times with her marge fists, making the young mutant bleed.

Sprig: Anne!

He yelled as the Plantars were ready to go and help her only to stop upon hearing Mama Hasselback let out a gasp.

The toad's eyes were widened as Anne had stabbed her with her claws in her side.

Anne then retracts her claws as Mama Hasselback lets out painful grunts as she held her hands to her side as blood poured from the stab wounds.

Anne then gets up, her wounds having already been healed as she looks Mama Hasselback in the eyes.

Anne: Don't ever come back here. Got it?

She says before the Hasselback Gang managed to get up and limp their way out of town.

Bailey: Yay! Anne did it again!

He said as everyone started cheering for Anne again.

Anne: No problem you guys. We good to go, Hop Pop?

Hop Pop: Yup. Bessie's refreshed and ready to go.

Bailey: Do you have to go, Anne?

Anne: I gotta, little guy. I got places to be.

Bailey: But who will protect us?

Anne: Sometimes it's better to learn how to protect yourselves instead of relying on others to protect you. You guys might be small, but there's strength in numbers.

She said as the tiny frogs started chatting amongst themselves about Anne's words, seeing her point.

Anne then says her goodbyes to all the tiny frogs with them waving the Plantars goodbye as they rode off into the sunset.

Another week has gone by since Anne fought off the Hasselback Gang as she and the Plantars had just set up camp in a forest.

Hop Pop: Okay, dinner's ready!

He said as Anne, Sprig and Polly eagerly waited for Hop Pop to give them their food.

Hop Pop: Now hold on to your butts . . . bam! Stick surprise!

He says as he gives them a plate with literally nothing but a stick.

Sprig: Hop Pop, this isn't food.

Hop Pop: But I didn't tell you what the surprise is.

Anne: And the surprise is . . . ?

Hop Pop: There is no surprise.

He said, making the kids groan.

Hop Pop: Sorry, kids. The journey's been longer than expected and we're out of food.

Anne: It's okay, Hop Pop. I'll go out hunting.

Hop Pop: You know how to hunt?

Anne: Yeah, my dad and sis taught me.

Sprig: Want me to come with? We can hunt together.

Anne: Sure, but if the rest of you guys are thinking about hunting then we should split up so we can all get as much food as possible.

Hop Pop: Good idea, Anne. You go with Sprig, I'll hunt with Polly.

Anne: Cool. Let's do this.

She says before they headed out into the wilderness.

Anne: Alright! Our first hunt together and-what are you doing?

She asks as Sprig had suddenly started eating mud.

Sprig: Tasting the mud.

Anne: I can see that. But why?

Sprig: Well, hunting the Plantar way involves three steps. The first is to track your prey. The soil is a buffet of clues.

He says before tasting some more mud.

Sprig: Oh! Oh! I'm getting something. This way!

He says, hopping away as Anne follows him before stopping in front of a bush that started to shake.

After a couple of seconds, a head popped out of the bush, revealing itself to be that of a small caterpillar-like creature, falling out of the bush and onto the ground.

Sprig: See, Anne? Nature provides. We found some grubbles. They're delicious. Step two, use your surroundings.

He says before digging a hole in the ground in front of the bush, ripping bark off a tree and placing it up against the bush like a ramp.

Sprig: Perfect. And now it's time for the most important step . . . the dance!

Anne: Dance? The hell are you-oh you gotta be shitting me.

She says as Sprig started doing a weird dance.

Sprig: This dance has been in our family for generations. Watch me. It's designed to both entice and disorient.

He says, continuing the dance as four more grubbles pop their heads out of the bush, bouncing in delight to Sprig's dance.

Anne was unamused by this as the grubbles start going down the bark and into the hole Sprig made.

Anne: Seriously, dude? I can hunt just fine without some stupid little dance.

Sprig: There's nothing stupid about the Sacred Plantar Hunting Dance.

Anne: Dude, I love ya, but you did all this for no reason. I mean, look at these things.

She says, simply picking one up in her hands.

Anne: These guys are way too easy to catch.

Sprig: True, but not all prey will be as easy as grubbles. But that's not the point. Hunting is about connecting with nature. Let it's rhythm flow through you. Can you hear the drums? Can you hear them playing the beat of the hunt, Anne?

Anne: No. Where I come from, hunting is about conquering and surviving nature. I'm gonna go this way, you can go the other way.

Sprig: You wanna split up?

Anne: No offense, dude, but your dance is slowing us down and we're burning daylight as it is. Holler if you need me.

She says before running off deeper into the forest.

About an hour later, the sun has set as Anne had been running about the forest, hunting grubbles left and right as she skewers them with her claws.

Anne: I think that's enough to last for a couple of days.

She says, carrying over a dozen dead grubbles over her shoulder before suddenly hearing the Plantars' screaming in the distance.

Anne: Guys?!

She yells, running as fast as she could with all the grubbles before finding a frightened Bessie in an empty camp.

Anne: Bessie, it's okay, I'm here now. What happened? Where's the family?

She says, trying to comfort the snail only to suddenly pick up an unknown scent.

She turns around only to see a Scorpaleo perched on a rock while holding Sprig, Polly & Hop Pop hostage in it's scorpion tail.

The Plantars screaming as the beast roars at Anne.

Sprig: It came out of nowhere!

Hop Pop: Careful, Anne! It still might be psychic!

Anne: The scorpion tail suggests otherwise, HP!

Polly: Just hurry up and save us! I'm too cute to die!

She yells before the Scorpaleo runs off with the Plantars.

Anne: Guys!

She yells, running after it but the beast was too quick as she loses sight of it.

She continues to run after it's footprints for a little while only for the trail to go cold as she finds herself with choosing between three paths.

Anne: Dammit! Okay, calm down, Anne. You're gonna get them back. Just remember what dad and Laurie taught you.

She says before using her sense of smell, immediately picking up the Scorpaleo's scent before running in it's direction.

Anne runs as fast as she can throughout the forest, swinging on a few vines, climbing trees.

She ran across a log that bridged over a cliff only for it to snap, but Anne was quick enough to jump to the other side before she could fall.

She eventually finds the Scorpaleo's footprint and finds it's home, seeing dozens of frog bones scattered everywhere as the beast in question has the Plantars pinned to the ground.

The Scorpaleo lets out a roar, opening it's three jaws as it raises it's scorpion tail into the air, ready to inject it's venom into the three frogs.

Anne: Hey, asshole!!

She yells, getting the Scorpaleo's attention as it turns around to face an angry Anne.

Anne: Get the fuck away from my family!!

She yells again, popping her claws out. The Scorpaleo then lets go of the Plantars and roars at Anne, seeing her as a threat.

Anne: What're you waiting for, fraidy-cat!!? Fight me!!

She screams, charging towards the Scorpaleo, making it charge towards her as well.

Anne dives under the Scorpaleo, ready to slice it's belly open only for the beast to dodge out of pure instinct.

Anne gets up, charging head on only for the Scorpaleo to slash at her chest with it's claws, making the young mutant yell out in pain, blood spilling on the ground as she was sent flying into a tree.

Anne then hits the ground with a loud thud before getting up as her wounds had already healed.

Sprig: Anne, look out!

He yelled as Anne looks to see the Scorpaleo jab it's scorpion stinger into her belly.

Anne gasped as she could feel it's venom being injected into her body.

It was so much venom that Anne ended up puking some of it out, the venom coming out of her eyes as well.

Anne coughed up lots of venom as she fell to her knees, the venom in her eyes blinding her while the venom in her belly feels as like it's burning her insides.

The Scorpaleo was roaring in pain after losing it's stinger to Anne before giving in to it's rage, seeing red as it approaches Anne.

Sprig: Anne!!

The pink frog yelled out before Hop Pop carries his grandchildren and runs away as the Scorpaleo grabs Anne and sinks it's teeth into the young mutant.

Tears streamed down the Plantars' faces as Anne lets out a bloodcurdling scream in the distance.

Hop Pop didn't stop running, he continued to cry as he ran before eventually making it back to the camp where Bessie was waiting.

Hop Pop then puts his grandchildren down before falling to his hands and knees, sobbing.

Sprig: Why Hop Pop!? Why did you run away!!? We could've helped her!! We should've helped her!!!

Hop Pop: Because I'm a coward, Sprig!!! I'm sorry!!!

Polly: Anne . . .

She says, crying her eyes out as she hugs Bessie, making the snail sad.

Sprig then lies down on his back, his tears still going as they all cried.

Suddenly, they heard rustling in some bushes, huddling up together as the Scorpaleo appears, still hungry.

Hop Pop: Well, kids . . . at least we'll reunite with Anne in the afterlife.

He says, giving them a big hug as the Scorpaleo lets out a growl as it slowly approaches them.

But suddenly, the Scorpaleo lets out a groan as it's body began to shake.

After a few seconds, it roars in pain as it falls to the floor, it's guts burning with pain as the Plantars looked on in confusion.

The Scorpaleo then lets out one last angry and pain filled roar as a bulge forms on it's back, before said bulge tears open.

Blood spills all over the camp as Anne emerges from the Scorpaleo's body, screaming with rage as she had clawed her way out of it's body.

The Plantars stared at her in silence and shock as Anne spits the Scorpaleo's blood out of her mouth.

Anne: Never eat a girl with a healing factor unless you wanna die inside out.

She says, her whole body covered in blood as she hops off the Scorpaleo's corpse.

Anne: You guys okay?

She asks only to be surprised upon seeing the Plantars crying.

Plantars: Anne!

They yelled, grabbing Anne in a huge hug with tears streaming down their faces.

Sprig: We thought you were dead!

Polly: I thought we'd never see you again!

Hop Pop: Please forgive me for running away, Anne!

They cried and cried as Anne smiles, hugging them back.

Anne: It's okay, guys. What matters is that we're all still alive. There there.

She says, doing her best to calm them down.

A couple hours had passed before the Plantars finally stopped crying, having had grubbles for dinner before they all fell asleep together in the tent.
