After finishing with Maiden's peak,  Takuya was now back on track with travelling to Saffron City.

Right now Takuya was walking through a forest and it was getting dark.

"Arceus, me and my directions." Takuya whined. "I know that Saffron City is close... I hope."

"What Pokémon are you using for this gym battle mother?" Koyuki asked.

"Well, since the Gym Leader Sabrina, uses psychic type I've been thinking about it." Takuya answered, "It's a two on two battle so I'll be using you and Kara to battle against the psychic."

"You can count on Kara and I to beat her." Yami said.

"Good luck today, uncle Yami." Koyuki said.

Just then they heard laughter coming from some bushes.

The laughter was from a little girl, about six years old with long green hair and was wearing a white dress, with a white hat that covering her face, so Takuya is unable to see her eyes and was carrying a white ball.

"Excuse me little girl," Takuya asked politely, "do you know if we are near to Saffron City?"

The little girl laughed again and ran away into the bushes.

"I was only asking for directions." Takuya said and she followed the path that the girl, 'Something is not right about that little girl.' She thought but she still took it and the path led them to a cliff.

Takuya saw Saffron City ahead of her; it was a city with many colour lights.

"Wow, it's beautiful." Koyuki said admiringly the lights.

"Yeah, but it's strange how the little girl just disappeared after we reached this cliff." Yami said.

"I know what you mean." Takuya agreed.

After spending the night in the Pokémon Centre, Takuya walked over to Saffron Gym, an unusual dome-shaped building.

"Well time to get my fourth badge." Takuya said.

Takuya was about to open the Gym's door, when a dark grey bearded man, in a dark green jogging outfit and with a dark green cap, interrupted her.

"Are you going to battle Sabrina?" The man asked, he stared at Takuya and appeared to be studying her.

Yami notice this and growled in his disguise form 'Pikachu'.

The man flinched a bit due to the sparks coming from the 'Pikachu'.

"Yes I am battling Sabrina, is that a problem?" Takuya asked.

"If I were you kid," the man said, "I'd go to another Gym. Sabrina will not go easy on a newbie trainer like you. So leave now and go to another gym."

"Excuse me." Takuya said in a low dangerously voice that made the man back away, "But you listen here old man, I didn't come to Saffron Gym just to have you tell me to leave. I'm battling Sabrina, got it."

"Mother is mad." Koyuki said in surprise.

"Can't blame her Yuki, even Aura has limits." Yami said.

The man smiled, seeing the flames and confidence in her eyes. 'Maybe she can save her.' He thought and led her inside to building.

Entering the building, Takuya was surprised to see some people were staring at spoons, as if they were trying to bend them and the rest were trying to guess what shape was on cards, without looking.

"What are they all doing?" Takuya asked.

"Hey, what are you doing here kid?" A male voice asked, it was a man dressed in a lab coat.

"I am here to challenge Sabrina." Takuya replied.

The man chuckled, "If you're here to challenge the great Sabrina," he said, "then you are in big trouble."

"Psychic huh?" Takuya smiled amused, "Everyone in this building is psychic user."

The man smirked, "Your interesting. Very well I'll lead you to the Great Sabrina."

The man led them to where Takuya's Gym Battle with Sabrina would be.

The battle field looked like an underground temple.

"This is odd." Takuya muttered. "I don't think were going to have a normal battle."

Yami and Koyuki nodded agreeing with her words.

The man bowed on the battlefield, "Great Sabrina," he said and point to Takuya, "This girl here wishes to battle you."

Two figures appeared behind a curtain.

One was a little girl in white, holding a PokéBall, the other was a woman with long dark green hair and blank dark green eyes, wearing a long red shirt.

Takuya recognized the little girl the girl they saw in the forest. 'She's the little girl from the forest.' She saw the gym leaders eyes, 'Sabrina huh? Her eyes looks lifeless.'

The woman's eyes turned blue and lifted the man into the air, then dropped him onto the floor.

The man ran away in panic.

Takuya and her Pokémon felt sorry for the man.

Takuya stepped forward. "Sabrina, I'm Takuya Sky of Pallet Town," she said, "and I wish to battle you to earn the Marsh Badge."

The little girl spoke up, "I accept the challenge, but if you lose you will have to play with me." She giggled.

Takuya felt unsure about this, but agreed to it.

"This will be a two on two challenge between the challenger Takuya of Pallet Town and the Saffron Gym Leader Sabrina!" The judge announced, "The match  will over  when one trainer wins both matches and declared the victor. Substitutions are allowed only by the challenger. Now let the match begin!"

One of the Pokéballs orbiting Sabrina rocketed out to the field. It bounced onto the dirt and popped open, releasing a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon with a round, white body with a red spot in the middle. Its light pink arms and legs are connected to its body by red spheres. Its knees have small, white coverings. There are red pads on the tips of its white fingers, and its black feet curl upward at the tips. Blue growths extend from the sides of its pale pink head, and there are red circles on its cheeks.

"Mr. Mime!" It challenged.

Takuya looked up the Pokémon:
🔹Mr. Mime, the Barrier Pokémon.
The evolved form of Mime Jr. It uses pantomime to make actual walls appear. Because it is rarely discovered, information about this Pokémon is extremely limited.

"Yami your up first!" Takuya said and Yami jumped off her shoulder, onto the battle field.

"Bring it on!" Yami challenged.

"Interesting your Pokémon can use telepathy." Sabrina said, "Mr. Mime use psybeam." Mr. Mime fired a psybeam.

"Yami dodge it, than use shadow ball." Takuya said. Yami jumped into the air to dodge to psybeam and he than fired a black purplish ball from his mouth at Mr. Mime.

"Mr. Mime psychic." Sabrina commanded. Mr. Mime eyes glowed blue and it froze the shadow ball, stopping it in place. "Send it back." Mr. Mime nodded and lifted its arm in the air and threw the shadow ball to where it came from.

"Yami use shadow ball again." Yami launched another shadow ball, colliding it with the other shadow ball. "Now use night daze." Yami sent out a pulse of dark wave hitting Mr. Mime directly.

"Miiimmeee!" It shouted out in pain.

"Mr. Mime use thunderbolt." Sabrina said. Mr. Mime was about to fire a thunderbolt attack but Takuya ordered Yami quickly.

"Let's end this now, Yami use shadow ball but this Shadow Planet combo." Takuya said. Yami gathered up another shadow ball and launched it with three others surround it, it looked like a solar planet with small planets around it.

The Shadow Planet hit Mr. Mime directly and it fainted from the super effective ghost type move.

Takuya is the winner of first round.

"Not bad." Sabrina commented and returned back the fainted Pokémon, "Come on out Abra." She released a bipedal Pokémon that is primarily yellow. Its face is kite-shaped, with a small, pale yellow snout and two short, pointed ears with pale yellow interiors. Its wide, narrow eyes are normally closed, it's  body is segmented with black skin is visible between its joints and along its neck. It has two brown, pauldron-shaped extensions on its shoulders, as well as a brown, fauld-like piece around its chest, it has three fingers and toes, with its fingers considerably shorter than its toes and it's tail is thick and long, with a brown band located near the tip.

Takuya looked up the Pokémon on her Pokédex:
🔹Abra, the Psi Pokémon.
It sleeps for 18 hours a day. Even when awake, it teleports itself while remaining seated.

'If Abra can still do things while asleep,' Takuya thought, 'I better be careful and not underestimate it.' "Yami return!" Her tricky fox Pokémon walked back to Takuya's side, "Okay! Kara, show them your strength!"

"Espeon!" Kara came out of her Pokéball and got ready to fight.

"So you have a Psychic type too, huh? Interesting." Sabrina said.

The little girl smiled with delight.

"Kara," Takuya said, "this may be a difficult battle, bet let's win this."

"Espeon!" Kara yipped.

Takuya was about to give Kara a command, but Abra started to glow.

"Interesting." Sabrina said.

"Oh Arcerus." Takuya groaned.

"Your kidding me?!" Yami exclaimed dumbfound.

"That was completely unexpected." Koyuki said.

Everyone watched as Abra evolved and changed into a primarily yellow, humanoid Pokémon. It has two large, pointed ears on top of its head, a red star on its forehead, and wide cheeks leading down to a thin snout. Its eyes are deep-set and narrow, it's torso is segmented with bulky shoulders, a thick, brown chest, and a small abdomen marked by three red, wavy lines. Attached to the Pokémon's abdomen is a large, thick tail encircled with a brown band near its base. Its arms are thin with brown elbows, and end in three-fingered hands with white claws. Its legs have prominent knees and large, three-toed feet, also ending in white claws and also carrying a pair of silver spoons.

"Kadabra." It said.

Takuya looked up the Pokémon on her Pokédex:
🔹Kadabra, the Psi Pokémon.
The evolved form of Abra. It stares at its silver spoon to focus its mind. It emits more alpha waves while doing so.

'Oh Arceus. Now this is really going to be tough.' Takuya thought, "Kara use shadow ball!" Kara fired a black purple ball from her mouth and the attack hit Kadabra directly.

"Use confusion." Sabrina said. Kadabra's eyes turned red, ready to attack.

"Protect now." Takuya said quickly. Kara created a barrier around herself to protect her from Kadabra's confusion. "Now use swift!" Stars came out of Kara's jewel and hit Kadabra really hard.

"Recover." Sabrina said and Kadabra glowed a light yellow and recovered a bit.

'Oh no,' Takuya thought, 'recover makes Pokémon recover a little. I will have to attack Kadabra very quick.' "Kara psych up." Kara stood still for a bit. "Now use psybeam." A rainbow coloured beam shot out of Kara's jewel and hit Kadabra hard. "Follow it with an iron tail." Kara tail glow and it hard Kadabra again weakling it more.

Sabrina's eyes went wide eyed like that, it was like she was showing some emotion.

Yami and Koyuki saw this.

"Hey uncle Yami," Koyuki whispered, "is it me or doesn't Sabrina look a bit different?"

"Yeah," Yami nodded, "I mean earlier she just looked blank on the face and in the eyes like she was lifeless. But now she looks a little worried, because of how much pain Kadabra just went through."

Unknown to them, the man they saw outside was watching the gym battle in the shadows silently.

While the match was still on with Kadabra who was panting and getting tired, Kara was also panting but not as much as Kadabra.

"I have to say," Sabrina said, "you are the first to give me an interesting battle." She looked at Espeon, "And your Espeon is well raised."

"Yeah, this battle is fun." The little girl said giggling.

"Thank you very much for the complement." Takuya said with a smile, "It's time to end this here and now. Kara, hyper beam!" She shouted out.

"Psybeam." Sabrina said, the hyper beam and psybeam collided with each other.

Kadabra was panting and struggling to stand while Kara was still standing tiredly looking at Kadabra, then suddenly Kadabra collapsed with defeat.

Takuya had won her second round, meaning she has defeated the gym.

Takuya ran over to Kara, "Thank you very much Kara for your hard work." She said, giving her a hug, "You were awesome."

"Woo, hoo! We won!" Yami cheered.

"Congratulations Aunt Kara!" Koyuki cheered.

"Esp, Espeon, Espeon!" Espeon licked her trainers face in affection.

Meanwhile Sabrina walked over to Kadabra.

"You made us lose!" The little girl shouted, "You're a meanie!"

Sabrina picked up Kadabra and asked it if it was okay, she had a real look of worries in her eyes and it looked like colour was coming back into her eyes.

Then the little girl suddenly disappeared, as if she were an illusion all this time.

"Where did the little girl go?" Takuya asked.

"Weird and spooky." Yami said.

"Scary is more like it." Koyuki added.

The man walked out of the shadows, "Sabrina?" He said.

"Huh?" Takuya said confused along with her Pokémon.

"Daddy?" Sabrina said, tears started to build in her eyes and she hugged the man, "Daddy!" She cried out.

"My little girl. Your back!" Her Sabrina dad cried out.

"D-DADDY?!" Koyuki and Yami exclamied dumbfound by the event.

"Well that was also unexpected." Takuya said in shocked.

Then a woman came into the Gym; she turned out to be Sabrina's mother.

Both Sabrina and her father hugged the woman and all of them cried tears of happiness.

When everyone got out of the gym Sabrina's father explained everything to Takuya.

The truth was Sabrina had been born with Psychic powers, but what happened was that the Psychic powers began to take control over Sabrina when she got older and older.

"Ever since that happened," Sabrina's father said, "Sabrina showed no emotions for anything and used her powers to hurt people. But thanks to you Takuya, Sabrina is now free at last."

"Huh? I didn't really do anything." Takuya said waving her hands in defence, "All I did was battle her."

"Ah, but your battle set her free," the man said, "because defeating Kadabra helped Sabrina get her emotions back and I must say that it was an amazing battle."

Sabrina and her mother agreed with that.

Sabrina stepped over to Takuya, "Takuya, I thank you for that great Pokémon battle and now I present you the Marsh Badge." She gave her the badge.

The Marsh Badge was golden and in the shape of two circles.

"And I have something else for you." Sabrina said and handed her a Pokémon egg, it was a blue and white colour with a red triangle in the centre. "I found this Pokémon egg a couple weeks ago when I was walking around. As you can see it doesn't feel like it about to hatch yet." Sabrina looked at Takuya, "So I want you to have it."

Takuya looked shocked she already has a Pokémon egg and now she has another one.

Takuya smiled brightly, "Thank you Sabrina I promise to take great care of it." She said.

Sabrina smile, "I know you will Takuya, I have a feeling that the Pokémon is extremely rare." She said, "Good Luck on the rest of your journey."

Sabrina parents smiled fondly at them.

After that Takuya bid farewell to Sabrina and her parents as she continued her journey.
