Gemma woke up to the sound of a siren flaring. Guards rushed into her room and rushed her and Wanda to get changed and head to Strucker's office. Six guards surrounded them as the ran down the hall. Gemma saw countless full armored soldiers run towards the entrance of the facility. They yelled orders to each other. Gemma felt something grasped jher hand. She saw that it was Wanda and Gemma tightened her own grip.
Through the two steel doors they went. Wanda ran to the pacing Pietro and met her twin in a hug. Shifting his gaze from Wanda, Pietro rushed to Gemma and gave her a tight embrace. He loosened his grip and they untangled themselves from each other. They each gave a small blush and focused their attention on the crazed Strucker.
Baron was exchanging words with a scientist. You could hear their arguing.
"Put them out!" the scientist yelled "It's what they signed up for."
Baron disagreed.
"They're not ready." And walked away.
Pietro grabbed Gemma by the arm and pulled to where Wanda is.
"We're going out there, are you coming?" he asked.
Gemma pondered about his offer. Going out there would give her a chance to see what she could really do. She turned her focus back on the twins.
"Yeah" She nodded "Let's go."
Quietly the trio headed towards the doors. Pietro swept the girls off their feet and ran them outside, there he set them down. He looked at Wanda.
"I'll be fine." she assured as she ran off.
Gemma's eyes darted around trying not to meet his, but he grabbed her chin and let his gaze meet hers. He began to lean in when a roar frightened them. Pietro released her chin and took a step forwards to get a look at what was going on. Then, he returned to Gemma.
"Can you take me further into the forest?" she asked.
"Anything." He answered. Again he swept her off her feet and ran her right into the middle of the forest. He was sure to be careful when he set her down.
As Gemma's feet hit the ground her eyes met his electric blue ones once again.
"Be careful." He said.
Gemma nodded and began to run away.
"Wait!" Pietro called.
Gemma stopped where she was and turned around to see a blue blur. When she could make out the image she felt and peck on her cheek. She felt heat rush onto her face as she stood there in the snow, freezing cold.
She watched him run away in his blur and them she turned herself invisible. She kept panicking when she heard the gunshots, forgetting that she couldn't be seen. As she walked further into the forest as noticed more movement and screams, as well as gunshots. Gemma stood her ground as something ruffled in the bushes.
"I can hear your thoughts you know!" Wanda's voice laughed.
"Shut up." Gemma snickered coming visible.
Wanda walked out to her in the open, and as she did an arrow whisked past them just barely missing Gemma's face. Wanda turned around and saw it's shooter running around. Wanda, about to advance was stopped by Gemma.
"Stop." Gemma warned.
"What? We need this." Wanda complained.
"Read his mind." Ordered Gemma.
"He's too far away." Wanda realized.
"Exactly, going to him would be walking into a death trap."
Wanda nodded and together her and Gemma left the area, but soon they needed to separate.
Gemma was observing the forest when she came upon a man in red, white, and blue. It's the Avengers, and that's Captain America she figured. Let's have some fun with this shall we?
Gemma quietly walked towards the American. She began to advance when a blue blur swept Captain America off his feet. Gemma couldn't help but giggle as she watched him struggle. Pietro went back and forth, but stopped when he noticed the giggling girl
behind the tree. He grabbed Gemma's hand and sped them back to the facility as they left the confused captain behind.
When Pietro stopped running, Gemma couldn't help to feel a little dizzy. Gemma stumbled to Wanda's side. From there the three of them tried to see what they could find from the rubble. During their search they ran into some trouble, but with the help of Pietro's speed it was no problem.
The captain tried to take Wanda, but Gemma and Pietro were able to confuse him. After looking around a little more they found that there was nothing left to salvage, but Wanda was able to play around with Stark's head when they entered Strucker's lab.
Pietro being his normal self was uneasy about letting Stark take the scepter.
"It'll be fine, you'll see." Wanda advised her twin.
Gemma couldn't help but wounded what Wanda did to him. Stark seemed really freaked out. As Stark walked around some more the trio took the advantage and left without a trace.
Looking back to her home for the past seven years, she couldn't help but wonder what happened to her father.
"I think they got father." She mumbled. Holding tighter around Pietro's neck she let herself drift off.
Pietro could feel Gemma's grip grow tighter the faster her ran, and soon he noticed her closed eyes. He couldn't help but think how peaceful she looked.
"Can you stop, your making my friendship with her weird!" Wanda complained from on his back.
Pietro laughed and shushed his younger sister. Sooner or later he felt his sisters grip tighten as she fell asleep. Pietro kept a steady pace for the next couple of hours. Finally, Wanda woke up, followed by Gemma.
"What took you guys so long?" Pietro smirked.
"Shut up!" Gemma groaned with a yawn.
"You didn't stop." Wanda said with confusion.
"We're almost there." Pietro said.
Gemma now paying attention butted in.
"You need to rest."
"No, I'm fine." He fought.
"Pietro, you don't have to act tough, just get some rest." Wanda said.
"Wanda I'm fine!"
Gemma heard enough. She lifted her hand creating a force field. Pietro saw it and came to a stop.
"What was that for!" Yelled Pietro.
"You need to rest!" Gemma yelled climbing out of his arms.
"I told you, I'm not-"
Gemma lifted her hand getting him to stop.
"Your exhausted, just admit it. your sister already read you. You need to sleep Pietro."
With a sigh Pietro nodded and sat down on the ground. A ah escaped his lips, and a laugh from Gemma's.
"Now sleep!" Ordered his twin.
With a roll of his eyes Pietro set his head down in the forest floor and let his eye lids droop until he could no longer see the light.
Gemma took a deep breath as she watched Pietro's eyes shut.
"Not you too!" Complained Wanda.
Gemma laughed and began to play with her powers. She would create little force field bubbles and let them float in the air. She enjoyed watching them go up and down until they popped. It was amusing, but in a very weird way. Wanda just tangled her fingers in her red mist. About five hours past when they heard Pietro start to wake up.
He regained consciousness when Wanda spoke up.
"Better?" She asked.
"Yeah." He agreed with a nod.
Gemma and Wanda exchanged a look.
"Told you." Both girls mocked.
"Yeah, yeah." The eldest Maximoff said rubbing his eyes. "Come on, we should get going."
The girls nodded and got in their previous positions. Wanda on his back and Gemma in his arms. According to Pietro, Gemma is lighter than Wanda, but all three of them know that that's not true.
Another five hours passed when they finally arrived at a small village. The three of them stayed there for a couple days before Wanda felt something.
"Come on, follow me." she said.
Pietro and Gemma followed her into this old torn down church. There, in the center was a large chair. As the thing in the chair
talked Gemma couldn't focus.
There was something about that thing that bothered her, so when it stood up, she couldn't believe her eyes.
