-Chapter 14-
-Elizabeth's Pov-
Meliodas was now wearing a black tunic that carried golden lacework and rich embroidery, with this he had black bottoms and what seemed to be black boots. Seems he wore quite a lot of black. I ended up wearing a long, short sleeved, black dress with a sweetheart neckline, an embroidered shaped panel on the front of the bodice and embroidered bands along the seams and around the neckline. With this black dolly shoes. Meliodas had taken me out the manor into a carriage that was ready for us.
Meliodas was holding me close, a huge smirk on his face, most likely because of the events of this morning. My face was burning up slightly, my heart was still racing even. This morning...it felt as if I had no control over anything. It felt as if something else took over me. I was confused. My body just felt as if I needed him. While in the carriage, I ended up watching out the window most of the ride. At first, I thought we were heading into the village nearby but took a different path that leads into the woods nearby.
I was confused on what Meliodas had planned. There was still so much I didn't know. So much that I wanted to know even. Many things just didn't make sense to me. Mostly, my own actions. Yes, I didn't mind much about it but I was the type of person who wanted to know. Who liked to know as much as she could. I felt my hair be moved to be my on back. I turned my head to look at Meliodas who was smiling at me. My face burnt up even more than it already was. I couldn't help but act this way.
I was still so embarrassed by my actions this morning. "We're here" Meliodas informed me as the carriage stopped. Meliodas was the first to exit the carriage, helping me out of it. I still wasn't used to it. We were in a clearing in the woods getting me to look around. Meliodas kept me close to him as he started to lead the way. I walked alongside him, looking around. The nature around us, it looked so free. I did wonder. Why was I never allowed to leave the castle? Why was it that my older sisters were but I was told to stay inside.
I had so many questions for my father that I was always too scared to bother. I never really spoke to my father, I can't even remember a single time we spoke. He would talk to my sisters nearly all the time. I did wonder, would I ever be able to ask? Now I really was out of the castle, now that I was able to really think straight about it...would I be able to? Being here...being with Meliodas...would mean fighting my own people...I knew...I knew that thinking about all this...would only make me worry and wonder even more.
As Meliodas and I walked along a path, a path with trees each side of it, the trees looked as if they were an archway. I was staring up at the top, just once and awhile seeing the sunlight shine through the gaps of the treetops. It all looked beautiful to me. The light that stared on the green leaves, would give them a seafoam green glow. "Here we are" Meliodas spoke getting me to turn my head. I saw that in front of us was a picnic set up in front of a small lake, attached to this lake was a breathtaking waterfall.
It wasn't the biggest one there was but the plant life around it giving it more of a character, the sunlight giving it a glow and lastly the sound. It was my first time seeing a real waterfall and not one from a book. "I had a feeling you would like it" Meliodas gave off a chuckle as my face must've given off my thoughts. I rubbed the back fo my neck smiling before looking at Meliodas. "I love it" I spoke with a bright smile. He soon smiled at me as I swore I could've seen his cheeks have a dust of pink show on them.
Most of the afternoon was us sitting at the picnic just talking while of course having food and drink. I would end up looking toward the waterfall quite a lot. I just couldn't help it. Meliodas would tease as he did. I was getting to know him more and more while also, getting used to being to his playful teasing. Though it didn't really stop my face from turning into a tomato. When it came to being late afternoon, I noticed Meliodas was staring at the sky. His eyes closed as he seemed to be thinking.
I wanted to ask if he was alright as there was soon a noise coming from the woods around us. It wasn't even a single second, Meliodas was behind me, hugging me close to him. A serious look on his face a he looked upset and annoyed. I was more than confused until a person a very tall person came out from the woods, walking toward us with a smirk. He was a very muscular man. He was wearing a blue long coat with a golden outline. He also had sliver gauntlets and boots. He had messy silver hair and noticeable facial stubble on his chin.
He had a marking above his left eye that matched the very same as the one Meliodas had over his right eye. He gave off a confusing and almost scary aura. His black eyes looking right at Meliodas and myself. "Estarossa" Meliodas muttered harshly. My mind going back to yesterday when I asked about the scars on Meliodas' chest. Estarossa was the one who caused them, he tried to kill Meliodas. I didn't know much else about him other than he also was the only prince to not compete for the throne.
My hands went onto the arm Meliodas had around my waist, holding it tightly. "Now, now older brother. No need to be so rude, we haven't seen each other in such a long time" Estarossa spoke his smirk growing as I could only keep quiet and feel uncomfortable. Why was he here? Who was he really? Why wasn't he after the thone like Meliodas and Prince Zeldris? I had so many questions.
