Y/N'S POV
The three of us sat together, just talking until someone, who I can only guess was the captain, walked up and called us and another man that looked about 23, up.

"Right then, get down the line and tell me all your names." The captain said. I leaned against the back wall.

"My name is Gon!"

"I am called Kurtapika"

"Y/n"

"The name is Leorio"

"Good good" he seemed satisfied with that. "Now why do you wanna become hunters?"

"Wow! Your not even an examiner so what's with the third degree!" Leorio snorted. I was starting to get a bad feeling with this guy...

"Just answer the question, Dummy" the captain responded.

"I will, because my dads a hunter" wow. Real smart. Go ahead and tell the stranger everything about yourself why don't cha? I thought. But that was Gon. So I just sighed and watched as everything unfolded itself. "Being a hunter is the most important thing in the world for my dad and I wanna know why! That's why I left Whale Island!"

"Hey kid! You know you don't have to tell an old guy nothing" Leorio said.

"But he asked why I'm here, it's not a secret!" Gon responded

"Look, give me the program it's not the first exam. And I'm not telling him why i'm here!" Leorio snapped

"I'm afraid I agree with Leorio" Kurapika agreed.

"That's mister Leorio to you, you brat! Show a little respect for your elders!"

"But why not dodge the question by simply offering the man a plausible lie." He continued. I had to hand it to him, this guy was pretty smart.

"Hey are you even listening to me?" I stifled a laugh at his frustration.

"However, it is quite shameful to rely on deceit." I tuned in. He made some serious points. " As for me, I cannot reveal my reasons here. I have my share of secrets. Deep secrets what i do not intend to expose at this time." Revenge. Same as me... "This is why I will not answer your question"

"Hey! I was talking to you, Punk!" He was mad now.

"So both of you flat out refuse to answer my question. Hey Katsuo!"

"Yes, what is it captain?" I felt something turn in my stomach. Oh no...

"Get ahold of the exam committee for me. Let them know we got two more drop outs" my heart sank. Then he turned to me "you gonna tell me or do you wanna make that three?" My heart was racing. "You see, the exam already started! Already noted the committee about the rest. Couldn't even handle a storm, they'd never make it through the other stages of the exam. There are as many Hunter wannabes as there are stars in the sky. And the examiners, well, they don't have the time nor resources to go through anymore. That's where people like me come in to trim the fat. In other words, you four only go in if I give the go ahead. So I'll ask you again, and think carefully before you answer"

I was about to faint. I only just told Gon why I was coming here. And now I gotta tell these three that I barely know?! I swore under my breath.

"You could of told us that sooner..."

"Both Y/N and I are the only survivors of the Kurta clan. Four years ago our entire clan was annihilated by a band of criminals. I may not know her reason for coming, but my soul reason is to catch the Phantom Troop. "

The captain turned to me again. I sighed and looked up, a faint scarlet tinted my vision. "I want to make the Phantom Troupe feel the same pain and haunting that they left me with over the years. " a swallowed the urge to cry.

"Sounds like you two want two Want two want to become Blacklist Hunters. And the Phantom Troupe is a class A bounty. Even the most seasoned hunters can't touch them. You know it's a suicide mission right?"

"I've lived my life. I could care less what happens to me" and that was the complete truth. After I lost everyone I loved, I had nothing left. No security. No passion. No emotion, except rage. Rage and hate and only one thought on my mind, revenge.

"Death is not among my fears. But there is one thing i do fear, and one thing alone. That time will quiet the rage in my heart." Kurapika was lost in his words.

"So in other words you two are up for revenge?" I turned to the captain.

"You don't really need to become a hunter so you can settle the score, do you?" I was fed up with this 'Leorio' guy. I swear if one more stupid word came out of his filthy mouth I was gonna snap.

"That is the stupidest question I have heard, Leorio"

"There are only places hunters can go. Intel they can only access and Actions only they can take. There is so much more then those three that you can a chance to comprehend. " I finished his thought. The insult fully intended.

"Hey! Why do you want to become a Hunter mister Leorio?!" Gon tried to lighten up the subject.

"Who me?" Yes you stupid "well it's pretty simple, for the money. Money can buy anything you ever wanted! A big mansion! A cool car! Enrapture booze!" That's it. I think I'm going to snap.

"If you could only by class as well" Kurapika added.

"Have a strike three, you two step outside, I'll end the filthy skirts bloodline once and for all"

I was shaking. Everything in my sight when red. "You stupid pig. Take that back!"

"Take it back Leorio! Take it back right now!" Kurapika yelled.

"That's mister Leorio to you" he turned outside. We chased after him.

"Hey! Where do you think you three are going?! I'm not done with you!" I ignored him.

The wind was sharp and fast, my hair flew in my face as the salty ocean water crashed on deck. I reached for my dagger and twirled it in my fingers. I saw Kurapika pull out a weapon two, and Leorio.

"Take that back Leorio, and then maybe I will forgive your sin"

"You owe me an apology, I'm not telling you again!"

"Very well"

I clutched my dagger, then all of the sudden a crew member fell of the ship along with Gon. My heart racing, I jumped after the only friend I knew. I grabbed one of the crew members leg, and Gon grabbed the other. I braced myself for the cold, but instead a pair of hands grabbed my legs. Before I had time to grasp what happened, I was being pulled up and lectured.

"You idiot! If it hadn't been for us you be shark bait. You're only big time kid and don't you forget it!" Leorio yelled

"How reckless can you be..." Kurapika responded. Well he's one to talk, considering he's going after the most deadly gang. Well I was to so-

"Buts it's fine! You caught us!" I stared at Gon. "You both did!"

"I guess you might have a point" I turned to Kurapika. Then plopped down on the floor and put my knees to my chest.

"Gon! Y/N!"

"Hm?" I turned towards the direction of the voice.

"You two saved my life back there! Thank you!"

"We didn't do it alone! These two helped" Gon smiled and looks at Leorio and Kurapika. I snickered. I swear this kid is the only reason I still have a heart.

"He's right. Thank you!"

"Please, No thanks necessary." I grinned slightly at his selfless gesture. It's been awhile since I've met a person like that.

"Yeah no prob! We're just glad to see you made it okay!" Huh. Didn't know Leorio could be so nice. Hah

"Me too! In fact I outta get back to my post right away!" And then he left.

Kurapika snickered. It's was pretty cute to be ho- no. Stop. Your need to stay one track minded. Find the Phantom Troupe and eliminate them, nothing else.

"What's so funny?"

"I'm embarrassed of my behaviour. Pardon my rudeness mister Leorio."

I sighed and looked up "me too. It was inappropriate for me to act this way. Please forgive me"

"I wasn't expecting that. Just forget it. You can strike the mister. Leorio is fine.I'm sorry too and i take back everything i said to you before. That was wrong of me."

"No, it's fine" Kurapika and I said in Union. We all laughed.

"You four are growing on me!" The captain walked up to us. "I'll make sure all three of you get safely drop off the port closest to the Exam side. How does that sound?"

"Really?!" I perked up. "Wait... what about your little test?"

He gave a deep laugh. "Like I said, I decide who goes on to take the exam! Congratulations, you're all moving on!" We all cheered. And so began my journey for revenge....
