"Let me get this straight... The Qurans and teachers are gone, as well as Sara and Abdullah, you saw creepy people, and now you're trying to find the Qurans?" Malak asked in disbelief. Tiba shrugged sheepishly.

"Basically. The demon told us to find them, for some reason."

"Nah, I think it wasn't the demon because why would the demon tell us to find something that we can use against it?" Nicola protested. Ali from eighth grade rolled his eyes.

    "Anyways, you prayed, right Malak?"

Malak nodded. "But wait, I still can't believe all this. How did this happen?"

During the conversation, no one realized that Matilda had turned the corner. The little kids tried gesturing and telling them, but everyone else was too busy to notice, only signing that they can calm down without even looking at them.

"If we knew the answer, habibti, do you think we would be here or be breaking down the doors to find the teachers?" Lily crossed her arms. "And excuse me for being salty, Emma smiled like a shaytan before we did wudu and I'm traumatized now."

"It was an accident!" Emma insisted, while Sam facepalmed.

"Let's just get a move on. My sister's only like five hundred hours late, anyway---" Mohammed began but was cut off by a comedically loud screech.

   "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Everyone shrieked (some) and went to see around the hallway. Down the hallway by the five and six class, Matilda was whacking some lady with a giant stick.

Nicola had a nagging feeling that it was the same lady with the bloody cut grin she had seen, but she couldn't be sure.

Matilda looked annoyed and kept smacking the lady with the stick.

Wait a minute... That's my giant pencil---

"I'm... Sowy! Stawp!" the lady sobbed like a toddler, falling backwards onto the floor. "I didn't want to dwo this!"

"Then leave!" Matilda snapped, spinning the pencil once like Ladybug spinning her yoyo. "Astaghfirallah," she mumbled, still glaring at the lady. Everyone stared at each other, unsure of whether to go and see what was happening, die laughing, or do both.

Sam walked backwards by the exits. "I'm out, I didn't sign up for this."

"Good luck getting the door open," Qasim snickered, indicating at the door. Sam rolled his eyes and stayed standing in his place.

Meanwhile with Matilda, the lady continued apologizing over and over, saying something about how she was going, until she disappeared right before their eyes.

   "Finally," Matilda huffed.

"All right, what the heck just happened?" Malak blurted out, frustrated and confused. When the little kids started rambling on about bad words, the older kids groaned and ugh-ed.

Matilda waved at the others to come over, Nicola going first.

"Girl, you made an honorable use of that pencil," Nicola gushed, patting her on the head. "Even the demon lady screeched!"

   Everyone else started laughing.

And of course, the entire kindergarten and grade three and four class were vanishing in groups because some had been too slow to follow the others.

Sam was just about to follow the others, feeling paranoid at not seeing them from his spot, only to hear the door to the school electricity room open from behind him. He whirled around and took twenty steps back immediately.

His eyes widened when he saw what emerged.

A cloaked monster, except it wasn't floating. It looked cheap in his opinion, but the black cloak was very realistic.

"NICOLA, ONE OF YOUR HARRY POTTER CREATURE THINGS ARE HERE!" Sam yelled, running around the corner after the others.

"A what now?" Nicola repeated. Before Sam could respond, she saw the thing round the corner.

Instantly, everyone started panicking. Tiba opened the nearest locker and took out a flip flop.

"EVERYONE GRAB SOMETHING TO BEAT THE MONSTER UP WITH!" Mohammed shouted, darting into the seven and eight class to get something quickly. The group parted, some entering the five and six class, the others into the seven eight.

Tiba ran into the seven eight, but the monster came in too, which caused the students in the class to stumble over their feet to grab something. Qasim picked up a whole dang chair while Sam took out the scissors.

"What are you going to do with those exactly?" Nerjes hissed, holding a part of the glass window that had been conveniently laying on the ground for some reason.

"Snip off the cloak so we can see who's under there probably," he drawled.

"I'm sorry, but if this a ghost or something, what if it's invisible under there?"

The monster was advancing towards Mohammed. Mohammed was clutching Emma's sharp metal ruler in his hand.

"What is it with demons and Mohammed?" Nicola exasperated, running straight at the monster, ready to swing at it with her Geography textbook.

Tiba had slipped out of the class twenty seconds previously, not that anyone had realized with their lives at stake (Qasim couldn't exactly see any extra details what with the chair he was holding).

Before Nicola could swing or get within three feet of the Dementor wannabe, someone bellowed with all their might from the door.

"BISMILLAH AR-RAHMAN AR-RAHIM, QUL 'AEUDH BIRABI AL-FALAQ! MIN SHARRI MAA KHALAQ, WA MIN SHARRI GHAASIQIN ITHA WAQAB, WA MIN SHARRI AN-NAFAATHATI FIL UQAD, WA MIN SHARRI HAASIDIN ITHA HASAD!"

The cloaked monster let out an ear shattering screech before starting to break apart like in some action movie. As it crumbled to the floor, the group in the seven eight class saw that Tiba was holding a book.

   More specifically, a Quran.

"FINALLY!" Nicola ran towards Tiba and held out her hands for the Quran expectantly. Tiba snorted and handed it over.

The others who had been hiding in the other classroom came to the doorway and much commotion was caused when they saw that Tiba had found one of the Qurans.

★★★

"Are you sure you found it in the lockers?" Malak asked Tiba skeptically as she opened the tenth locker. Everyone was searching for another Quran book all across the school hallway. Luckily, the hallway was long and the lights were on so it wasn't as scary.

"Yep," Tiba shrugged. Malak had emptied her bag of her books in the middle of the hall so Tiba could put the Quran book inside. Obviously, the lunch bag remained in the backpack.

Nerjes gagged when she found a bottle of expired perfume in one of the lockers, and Nicola found a spider in one. Let's just say that she closed the door faster than Matilda could spin the giant pencil.

Everyone was met with a weird surprise when Mohammed opened one of the lockers, only for a radio to start playing the Miraculous theme song at top volume.

"WHAT IS THAT MONSTROSITY?!" Sam yelled, covering his ears and kicking his own locker door shut.

"EXCUSE YOU, THAT IS NOT A MONSTROSITY!"

"EVERYONE JUST BE QUIET AND MOHAMMED, SHUT THE DOOR FOR ALLAH'S SAKE!" Ali from eighth grade shouted.

Qasim opened a locker, only to find some person inside, staring at him blankly. Not creepily, just confused.

It wasn't to say that they looked like an alien or human, but the monster person looked like a cheap cartoon villain.

"Oh come on!" Qasim clapped his hands once in annoyance and spinning around. "Another?"

The cartoon scary-ish villain stepped out of the locker, only for Nerjes to come and kick them aside and grab the book that was behind them.

"Two out of thirty four!" she proclaimed, before turning to the short person in distaste. Malak blinked at the scene from down the hall.

"Who are you?" Nerjes asked the person, scowling a bit. The person blinked too.

"I come to help with quest," they tilted their head. Sam stared at them in disbelief.

"At least don't look like a jinn or something, sheesh," he huffed. "Or a ripoff of butterfly dude?"

"He looks nothing like Hawkmoth," Nicola deadpanned, crossing her arms.

   "Who cares!"

   "I care!"

"Quiet?" the villain half asked half commanded hesitantly. Sam and Nicola didn't acknowledge them.

Matilda and Nerjes glanced at each other before snorting.

A/N : I CAN EXPLAIN

writer's block ✨

Ps what Tiba said is Surat Al Falaq from the Quran. While it is displayed comedically, I have heard that Surat Al Falaq is most commonly recited when someone has nightmares or protection from jinn. While all surahs of the Quran are full of miracles, this is just the most prominent surah with this use Ive heard of.
