Chapter Four - The House
~~I will stay here while you are out with Marie.
She nodded, smiling. "Okay. Bye, Yurēi."
~~Goodbye, Momi-chan...
When she left, I sunk to the floor, landing on my feet. My body materialized, and I looked out the window, watching as she gets into Marie's mom's car. I frown. I hated Marie, always trying to take Momi-chan from me...
Well, I would not let her. "I will get you next time, Marie-san..." I mutter.
I walk towards the door, slowly opening it so it did not creak, and stepped lightly on the floorboards, which was easy since I was only some ways materialized. I closed the door softly behind me and crept down the stairs. I could hear talking in the living room, Momi-chan's parents. They were watching an old movie, but it was not as old as me. Well, maybe.
I reached the front door, and slowly opened it. I crept out, and closed it. I slipped into some shoes and put on a jacket from Momi-chan's closet. I breathe a sigh of relief. Momi-san would be going to a sleepover at Marie-san's house. She would not be back until morning.
I walked down the sidewalk. A few cars passed by every now and then, but they didn't bother to even acknowledge my existence, like most. I crossed the street to a seemingly normal house, but that was not the case. All the lights were off, and there were no sounds coming from inside, except the wind blowing through the curtains of the opened windows.
The stench of death surrounded the perimeter, but you'd only smell it if you stepped onto the porch, and that's why I hated Halloween. I walked up to the front door and opened it. The door was always unlocked. I walked inside, and turned on the lights. But to a normal person, the house would still seem unlit. Though, to a spirit like me, black flames are all I need to see perfectly. Blood covered the walls, some splatters dry, some new.
In the middle of the parlour was a pentagram with symbols drawn in what looked to be ash. Candles were the the points of the angles. An eye was drawn in the middle with blood.
"Ah, it feels good to be home." I could finally be free now, and so I let out a laugh of pure madness. I went over to a table, which had a skull and in the skull was a shadowy blade, and as I pulled it out, the blade was a bit wavy, and had dry and fresh blood. The hilt was decorated with beautiful patterns.
I ran my fingers against the sharp side of the blade, and some blood poured from my finger, but it was not red, nor white. But rather it was pure black. I giggled at the amazing, stinging feeling. I let out another laugh of pure madness. "Oh, Marie-san, I cannot wait until you visit my lovely house!" I laughed with madness.
Welp, Yurēi is officially a psychopath ghost that needs Jesus.
