Chapter Six
~Rainbow Steve's POV~
I wake up the next morning, stretching out in the bed. For a moment, I'm in a daze. Instead of the cult room I was in, it looks like I'm in my own bedroom again. Then, I rub my eyes, finding myself back in the room with like, ten other beds.
Thanks a lot, dumb mind, I mentally rant to myself. The bed's around me all have someone occupying them, being Sabre, Spencey, Flub, Jett, and Colleen. I drag myself out of bed, going to the kitchen area from the night before. I open the fridge, pulling out something to eat.
Should probably make everyone else breakfast too, that way there you don't get on their bad sides, my mind reasons. I agree, not feeling like Sabre yelling at me again. I pull out the stuff to make some pancakes, though taking a bit since I don't know the kitchen well.
I mix all the stuff for the batter together, turning on the stove (There wasn't stoves during this time but let's pretend-). Once the stove is heated enough, I put the pan on it. Pouring some of the batter into the pan, I hum faintly.
After around fifteen minutes of making pancakes, I put the last of them onto the plate. I grab another plate from the cabinet, dishing myself three pancakes and leaving the last seventeen for the others.
Sabre stumbles out of the room of beds right around the time I put the other pancakes into a place where it'll stay warm but won't cook, looking at me curiously. "Morning," I hum softly, setting my plate down at the table and starting to eat.
"Made yourself pancakes?" Sabre asks curiously, his voice seeming harsh.
"I made everyone some," I gesture towards where I left the other pancakes. "Help yourself to as many as you want."
He goes over to that area in the kitchen, soon finding the pancakes. "These.. smell good," Sabre says curiously.
I tilt my head slightly, confused on what he's trying to get at. "Thanks, I guess?"
He dishes himself a plate of it, while I just start eating. After a minute, he comes over with his plate, setting it down. He then cuts one of the pancakes up, eating a bite of it. "These taste amazing," he says, sounding completely shocked that I can cook.
"Thanks," I shrug. I just continue eating, not really in the mood to talk much.
"So..." Sabre asks, devouring the food.
"So what?"
"How was your first night in the creed?"
I eye him, confused on what he means. "Good I guess? Why are you asking?"
"I'm not heartless, you know; I want to make sure you and everyone else in the creed are doing okay, even if I did just meet you." I look up at him, learning a little more about his character.
"Why do you care if it was a good night for me though?" I ask him, and he shrugs.
"Well, you do have great pancakes," he says jokingly, though he clearly does seem to mean when he says it. I smile softly, looking at him. "But also because you seem special, Rainbow Steve. I believe you're going to be a great addition to the creed."
***
Me and Sabre were just chilling in the living room area, when Jett comes running into the room. "Sabre!"
Sabre jerks his attention to Jett, not even caring that I was in the middle of talking to him. "What'd you find out, Jett?"
"Around town, I heard people talking about a man that fit the description of Mogi, sir," Jett responds. Confused, I don't say anything.
"Well, Rainbow Steve," Sabre looks over at me, a grin on his face. "Would you like to experience your first mission with me?"
