Dear Mom,

Mom, this book's really cool. I know you said in your mommy-bear voice to 'always remember to write your name on your books' so I'm sorry for not obeying you this time but my quiet-book is a secret so shhh... please don't tell dad.
Father is behaving weird again. He said I shouldn't call him dad but Father because he's a priest. He shouted really loud when i forgot, he also squeezes my arm really hard and said 'don't speak a word to your mother' but you said no secrets so I will tell you in this book till you get back.I'm under the bed again you said its dirty but Father doesn't find me here. If dad, sorry, Father finds me he'll hit me with those beads again. You werent here on my birthday so Father hit me really hard on my back many times and was yelling so loud I thought the neighbors would come over he tied me up in the basement again it was really scary and I cried...you said I'm a big boy but I was so scared and Father didnt care.
I've not been practicing my cursive like Miss Jahdeel said my hands hurt a lot it feels like that time I took out the cookies without mittens. dads beads are really hard. Mom why didnt you make me a girl, dad doesn't like that I'm a boy he says that I'm the reason Mother Mary would never forgive him. Its your fault you should have just made me a girl then Father wouldn't hate me so much. I'm sorry for staying up past my bedtime. Is that why you left? I promise I won't do it again. I miss you. Father doesn't hurt me when your here and I miss your hugs, and your pies and stories. Please come and take me with you Father says that you are staying with Virgin Mary maybe if I speak to her she'll forgive Father and he wouldn't be so upset.
