Two Down
The group ended up getting more lost as they kept walking. Without knowing which direction to go, they had been aimlessly wandering the Ordeal of Spheres for what seemed like forever.
A stomach grumbled, causing everyone to stop and look at Luffy. "I'm hungry!" He whined.
"You can eat once we get out of here, Straw Hat-ya," Law sighed in annoyance.
"Geez, you really are a bottomless pit, aren't you?" Kid scoffed.
They continued on their way, despite Luffy's constant griping about how he badly needed food, and stopped again to scout the area. Law made a spherical blue room covering a large amount of the perimeter and teleported himself to the treetops.
"Huh. So that's how the bastard got there." Teddy watched in awe as Law disappeared and reappeared from one place to another within mere seconds.
"Isn't Trafalgar a DF user?" Domino questioned.
"Yup! He ate the Op-Op pill!" Luffy said with a smile.
A few moments later, Law came back down and sighed, "It's useless. The area is too vast, I can't see a way out."
Teddy frowned at the realization that they were inside a university classroom just a while back. Now they were in this infinite room full of floating balls? It didn't make sense.
"Don't bother trying to make any sense out of this place," Kid said to her. "It'll only give you a headache."
She laughed nervously. Now Kid was speaking to her as if he wasn't trying to murder her hours ago. What the hell is up with the students in this school?
"I'm still going to beat you up once we're out of this place." He said.
"HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'M THINKING?!" Teddy exclaimed. "Is this your DF power?!"
Kid chuckled and shook his head, "Nah, your face is just too easy to read."
She frowned, was she that much of an open book? Kid walked off and tried to get Luffy away from the edge of the river, yelling at him that he might accidentally fall in and drown.
"HELLOOOO!"
The group looked up and saw a round man with long, dark red hair and wearing a full-body jumpsuit. What was curious about him is the pair of wings on his back.
"An angel?! Are we dead?!" Teddy screamed.
The man bounced on the spheres and danced around while singing offkey. His eyes were completely obscured by his large, yellow sunglasses, but Teddy could tell that he was still watching them.
"I see we have some new troublemakers!" He giggled in his high-pitched voice. It made Teddy want to rip her ears off out of desperation for silence. "My name is Satori, the Guardian of the Ordeal of Spheres-- HEY, LISTEN TO ME WHILE I'M TALKING!!"
Everyone followed as Law led the way, and ignored the guardian of their ordeal. Satori fumed with anger and bounced down to the ground in front of them, replacing his scowl with a cheerful smile.
"Maybe you didn't hear me. My name is Satori, the guardian of--"
"Oh, don't worry, we heard you," Law interrupted.
"It's just that we don't really give a damn." Kid yawned.
Satori frowned again, "You're all rude." He then replaced his frown with a smile once more. "Perhaps I should just start off this detention lesson by eliminating you all!"
"Um, no thanks..." Teddy muttered under her breath.
Luffy grinned and threw a punch while Satori wasn't looking, but was blocked by a mysterious force by the guardian's palm. "That won't work on me!" He chimed as Luffy pulled his arm back.
Satori stepped closer to Luffy and sneered down at him. "Let me show you one of the punishments..." He giggled and rested his palm against Luffy's chest. "Have a taste of your own attack, monkey boy."
Luffy's eyes widened as he felt a strong impact against his body. He was shot backwards against the massive tree tunk behind him, blood spurting out of his mouth as he collided with the wood.
"Monkey-san!!" Teddy gasped. Is he still alive?!
"See how powerful I am compared to you?" Satori jumped in glee upon seeing the work of his attack. Luffy was now lying on the ground and not moving. When the attack struck him, his chest ached and he could have sworn he heard his ribs cracked.
Marie started to cry, "Please don't kill us! We're sorry we didn't listen to you!"
Kid frowned at her and growled, "Why the hell do you always cry and apologize?! It's getting annoying!"
His eyes widened and he quickly turned around, coming face to face with the guardian of spheres. Satori reached a hand out to grab his face. Kid kicked his belly to make him bounce back but he swiftly dodged it.
"What-?!"
Satori grabbed his face and threw him towards the river, "Have a nice swim!"
Law and Teddy were about to jump in after him, but Domino and Mika held them back. "What are you doing?!" Domino yelled. "You two will drown! Did you forget DF users can't swim?!"
Teddy frowned at the water, Domino was right about that. The side effects of swallowing the DF pill would give the person the inability to swim. At times like these, she wished she hadn't taken the stupid pill in the first place.
"Lauzen, what are you doing?!" Domino shouted.
Marie ran towards the river and dove in after Kid. Unlike the water of a regular river, this one was like jumping in a sea of liquified clouds. Everything was white and puffy-looking, it would be nearly impossible to find him.
She squinted her eyes and saw a pale hand with black nail polish. "That's him!!" She thought and swam deeper, grabbing his hand and struggling to pull him up to the surface. "Don't drown yet!" She silently pleaded him.
Their heads breached the water and Marie began to gasp for air. She looked down to check on Kid.
Panic began to overwhelm her when she saw that he wasn't moving. Her mind began to race with many horrible thoughts as she tried to wake him up, "He's still alive, isn't he?!"
