Trying and Adjusting

"LUFFY! WAIT FOR THE REST OF US!!!" You call loudly to the running boy.

After a wonderfully EXHAUSTING eight hour drive, you finally reached Thriller Bark by the time the sun was starting to set.

The clouds turned into an amazing scarlet color with a mix of light purple, giving the entire amusement park a beautiful yet eerie appearance. However you couldn't just stand there enjoying the view while everyone else was bringing out the luggage. You had to help of course.

"(Name)-ya, your bag." Law says, handing you your (F/C) travel bag. You thanked him and got Luffy's bag from the luggage compartment, gasping in surprise as a tanned and tattooed hand brushes over yours and takes it from you.

"Where the hell is—-" Law spots Luffy by the park's entrance waving his hands for the rest to hurry up. You laugh nervously as Law sighs in annoyance, "Can't he have the decency to carry his own bags?"

You smile and sweat dropped.

From the moment the truck parked in the parking lot, Luffy swung open the door and sprinted out without a second thought. If he was going to be this much of a handful then you won't know how long you'll even last for a day trying to keep an eye on him.

"He's just excited." You told the irritated boy, trying to calm him down.

Law looks at you with an annoyed expression and you stiffen from the frown he was giving you. "Don't even bother trying to defend him (Name)-ya. He's always like this." He sighs.

The adults proceeded to the entrance with you, Law, and Chopper following in suit. Franky got four room keys, handing one to Shanks, Corazon, and you. Staring at the key in your hand, you blink confusedly and throw Franky a questioning look.

"Robin and I share a room; Shanks and Makino share a room; Corazon will be with the boys and (Name) will have a separate room." He explains, jingling the key in his hand. You glance back at the key with a worried expression. Yes, you liked the idea of having your own room but it kinda made you feel lonely.

Everyone walked in the resort hotel and rode the elevator to the eleventh floor. You found your rooms quickly and everyone got inside except you. "Don't worry (Name), your room is connected to Cora's and ours is right across yours." Robin reassures you.

You nod in response, not looking at her, "Yeah, okay." and slid the key into the lock and twisted it.

The room had two beds, a single large bathroom, and a medium sized television plastered on the wall. There was a mini fridge on top of the counter but you didn't dare touch it, knowing that it would cost you extra if you took anything. The smell of vanilla filled your lungs as you take in the sweet scent of the air, setting your travel bag down beside the bed opposite from the windows.

"You okay?" Ace asks, sitting down on the bed you didn't occupy. You didn't reply as you were too busy looking at the door connecting your room with the other side.

"(Name)?" He calls to you, snapping his fingers to get your attention to him. "Earth to Flower?"

You blink slowly then turned to glare at him. "I thought I told you not to call me that."

After seeing you finally awake from your trance, he chuckles and lies down on the bed. "It sounds kinda cute—"

"—It sounds RIDICULOUS, Ace." You laugh, watching his adorable freckled face as he pouts at you.

"Guess I'll just go back to calling you Princess then." He declares, smirking to himself as he covers his eyes with his orange cowboy hat. Before you could change his mind, you hear loud snoring coming from his bed and you sigh in defeat. He fell asleep.

With nothing to do and no one to talk to, you remove your clothes and take out a (F/C) nightgown, slipping on a white polar bear themed jacket when a light knock suddenly sounded from the connecting door.

You cautiously unlock it and peered in from the crack to see who it was. "Can I come in?" A smooth voice asks. Seeing a pair of lips twist into a smirk, you widen the opening and stood there facing Law.

He was wearing a grey hoodie and a pair of jeans. Although the hoodie didn't have any sleeves so you were pretty much staring at his tattoos and probably drooled a bit from how fucking badass he looked right now but who knows.

"Take a picture, it lasts longer." He rumbles and places his hand on your head, chuckling at your now blushing face from embarrassment that you got caught.

"D-Did you, uhh, n-need something from me, T-Trafa-Traaa—-" You stammer, hoping to change the subject but realize you were failing miserably to remember his name.

"Trafalgar?" He adds. "Not really hard to pronounce once you get used to it."

"Trafa-what?"

"-lgar. Trafalgar."

"Traffygar."

"Tra. Fal. Gar."

"Truffles." You pout, giving up on the pronunciation. Law just stood there with a blank expression, probably mortified that someone else besides Luffy made him yet ANOTHER nickname. "Anyways, did you need anything?"

Law hums in thought and just smiles at your jacket, "Nothing really. Just came to ask if you wanted to take a walk."

"Oh, sure, I'd love to!" You say, beaming at him. The way your (H/C)-colored hair draped perfectly against your face, the innocent twinkling in your eyes, and the outfit you were wearing right now, Law would probably have died from nosebleed and excess blood loss from cuteness overload.

He widens his eyes a bit and pink tinted his cheeks as he looks away from you. "Is something wrong, Truffles?" You ask worriedly.

He quickly shakes his head and walks over to your front door and opens it. "Let's go."

There were three different pools located in the resort: one for the children, one for adults, and one that connected to the sea. You and Law sat down by the pool that connected to the sea and drowned your legs in the water, because why the fuck not?

"Hey, a fishy!" You blurted out, pointing to a purple colored fish that swam by Law's foot.

He smiles at you as he shoos the fish away with his leg, "Fishy?" He teases.

"Err-I meant fish." You quickly corrected and felt a blush coming back to your cheeks. This made Law laugh and you pouted childishly at him.

"You're funny (Name)-ya." He chuckles, leaning his head back to look at the sky as twinkling stars started coming into view.

Silence fell over the two of you and you just enjoyed the peace for a while. You took short glances at Law from time to time, trying to see what would be on his mind right now.

Well, you got nothing.

Hearing a grumpy voice and feeling a pair of strong arms hug you from behind, you squeaked in surprise. "Truffles?!" You call out.

"Hm?" The boy responded from beside you, his head facing you with a look of confusion. "What is it?"

You blink in shock, "Oh, n-nothing."

You glance over your shoulder to see Ace frowning at you. Worry clouded his eyes and you remembered that you just left him sleeping back in the room with not even a note to tell him where you were going. Oops!

"I was worried sick, you know." Ace grumbled, head resting on your shoulder. "Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You were sleeping so peacefully and...well...I kinda forgot..." You whisper, shamefully averting your eyes from him.

Ace started grumbling like a five year old and nuzzled into the crook of your neck, his cold touch tickling your skin and making you shift uneasily in your seat. Law just sat there watching you with an amused expression.

"If you need to use the toilet then you could go, you know." He states.

Your face turns red and you wave your hands frantically in front of you. "I-It's not that! I w-was just-EEk!-You see I-Aah!" You jerk your body at Ace's cold touch as he continues to punish you with pokes to your stomach, tickling your sides, and small kisses on your neck.

Law just stares at you even more confused than he was previously. This girl is weird, He tells himself as he politely turns his head away from your embarrassed stuttering of an apology.

After a while, you and Law returned to your rooms, saying a quick goodnight to each other before heading inside. You slammed the door shut and run to your bed, burying your flushed face with a pillow.

The feeling of embarrassment still fresh in your system, you just wished you could crawl into a hole and stay there for the rest of your miserable life. Better yet, why not just crawl under a rock and die?

"Are you upset?" Ace asks. From the sound of his voice, he was probably beside you on the bed.

You didn't answer, or even shrug for that matter.

"(Name)?" Ace pokes the side of your head.

You ignored him.

"Princess? Come on, don't get mad. I was really worried about you earlier." He sighs, resting his head on your back like a pillow. He didn't weigh much so you didn't mind at all.

"That's not the case, Ace," You grumble, lifting your head and rolling to your side, causing his head to fall off and onto the mattress. "Law probably thinks I'm weird now."

At the mention of Law's name, Ace frowns in disapproval. "Why do you care about what he thinks?" He mumbles. "Do you like him or something?"

"I just met the guy today. Like him or not, if I'm gonna be stuck with him for the entire week then I have to make myself...tolerable."

"Tolerable?"

"Yes. So you have to behave for me, Ace."

You were now lying on your back, facing the ceiling with a concerned look in your eyes. The raven haired man just lied down beside you, a small frown on his lips, and he sighs.

"Fine," he mutters.

You scoot closer to him to give him a peck on the cheek but remembered that you couldn't touch him, so you just lay on the bed facing him with a smile on your face.

"Thank you."
