Good Morning

(A/N)

This is the prologue of the story.

Comment and tell me what you think about it so far~!

———————————-

"I don't want to go." You mutter glumly, watching the rain beat down on the police car's window.

The man in the driver's seat took a quick glance at your face in the mirror and sighed. "I'm very sorry about this, (Name)." He says, eyes turning back on the road. You didn't answer him and just continued to watch the grey and gloomy skies that cried for you.

After a few minutes of silence, you could see the large mansion located on top of the hill. It hid behind large black iron gates and a high wall that stretched far and wide. There was a security guard in the guard house and he sees the car pull up in front of the gate.

"Can I help you, sir?" He asks from the small open window facing the car.

"Yeah, I'm Lieutenant Smoker here to drop off the girl." He says, pulling down his shades to look at the guard.

"Oh! Of course, of course." The guard smiles and pushes a button. The gates swing open and Smoker drives in slowly.

You look at the guard as he waves at you. You offer him a smile before focusing your eyes on the old fashioned manor with red bricked walls. Smoker sees your concerned look and chuckles, "Don't worry, (Name). It only looks old. The building was made a few years ago."

"I don't wanna go, Smokey. They'll hate me." You sob, rubbing the tears from your (E/C)-colored eyes. Smoker frowns at you and sighs, grabbing the umbrella from the dashboard.

He opens your door and crouches down to your eye level. "(Name). I can assure you. These are nice people. Trust me."

You look at the platinum haired man, coughing lightly from the smoke of his cigars, and smile. "Okay..."

You hop out of the car and hold the umbrella, running to the front door for shelter while Smoker went to the trunk to collect your luggage. The large wooden doors were beautifully decorated, almost like it was made for an aristocrat.

Smoker runs steadily to the door with your luggage and sets them down. He shakes the rain from his hair, wetting you in the process. "Hey!" You huff. He laughs, "Sorry, kid." Then rings the doorbell three times.

A moment later, two women in colored maid outfits answered the door and widen their eyes at the two soaking strangers at the front door. "Can we help you?" asked the one with curly squared-shaped hair and pink maid outfit. You gave her a funny look before Smoker cleared his throat, gaining your attention and making you stop staring.

"I'm Lieutenant Smoker, this is (Name)." He introduces and shakes their hands.

The other maid with the yellow maid outfit and straight edged square-shaped hair took the bags from Smoker and allowed them inside.

Your eyes wandered around the room and took in the wonderful interior. For a second, you believed to be in a museum of artifacts. The walls were decorated with old pictures and antique vases were found on almost every corner.

The kitchen was the complete opposite though. It seemed more...high-tech. A man with bright blue hair was sitting in one of the bar stools and chugging down cola. He wore a red Hawaiian shirt with palm tree prints, a pair of sunglasses, and a pair of...speedo trunks??

You look up at Smoker and throw him a questioning gaze. He stares at the man with an annoyed look on his face and sighs heavily, "Damn it, Franky! Put some pants on!"

The blue haired man named Franky burps then perched his sunglasses on top of his head and smiles at the Lieutenant. "Nice to see you too, Smoker." He grins. Smoker scowls at him and covered your eyes.

"Put some pants on. I don't need her to be in more shock than she's already in." He grumbles. You could almost hear the sparks flying in the air between the two men.

"Alright. That's enough, both of you." A woman's voice speaks up and you felt Smoker relax. "Is this the girl?" She inquires, her voice close to where you stood.

Smoker releases his hand from your eyes and a pair of soft blue eyes meet yours. You gasp from being so close to her and back away, hiding behind Smoker.

"She's quite the shy one, isn't she?" The woman giggles.

She was a beautiful woman with long and black hair, pulled back from her face with a pair of orange tinted sunglasses. Her skin was white like freshly fallen snow, complementing her eye color. Smoker nudges you and nods.

You hesitantly peer out from behind him and walk towards her and gave a small smile. She had her hands on her knees and was bending slightly so that she could see you face to face.

"Hello. My name is Robin." She says softly. Her tone was kind and loving like a mother's and you instantly relax knowing that this woman would be tolerable.

"My name is (Name)." You reply, smiling sweetly at her.

She giggles and hugs you adoringly. "I hope I can be a great mother to you, (Name)." She says.

You awkwardly hug her back and glance over to the counter where the speedo man sat frowning at you. Robin pulls away and follows your eyes. Seeing Franky, she scowls and gives him a look.

Franky grumbles in defeat, knowing he can't argue, and walks over to you. He was surprisingly taller than you expected and you had to roll your head back to see his face. His biceps were small compared to his large forearms. You noticed the blue stars painted on them and tilt your head with curiosity.

Franky sees this and smirks. "'Sup, kid? I'm gonna be your new daddy." He grins, patting you on the head.

Seeing your mood switched from relaxed to depressed made Robin slap him on the shoulder. "OWww! What was that for, Robin?!" He scowls at her before turning to you and realizing. "Oh... Sorry, kid. I didn't mean it like that." He mutters, rubbing a hand on the back of his neck in guilt.

"It's okay, Mr. Speedo." You say with a forced smile. Robin giggles at the nickname.

"You can just call me Franky." He chuckles then nodded to Smoker.

"Alright, I need to get going." Smoker announces. You turn to him and jump up, hugging his neck and hiding your face on his shoulder.

"Will you come visit?" You ask sadly. He nods and hugs back before setting you down.

After a few final goodbyes, Smoker left in his police car, leaving you with your new parents. You help the maids carry your bags to your new room. Although they insisted that they should do it for you but you refused to let them do all the work.

Robin was in your room fixing the pillows of your queen sized bed. Your room had a custom made piano bookshelf on the wall. You smile, admiring it for a bit. The dresser had a large mirror on top of it and you even had a mini fridge for snacks.

"Dinner will be ready in a bit, milady." said the yellow clad maid.

You frown at the formality towards you. "Just call me (Name). No milady or mistress or princess or whatever."

The two maids blinked in surprise but smile at your serious expression. "Very well." The replied in unison before leaving the room with Robin.

You began to unpack and sort your clothes into the wardrobe. You brought a few books with you that Tashigi had bought before you and Smoker left for the manor. You smile and placed them orderly in the piano bookshelf.

By the time you were done with everything, you lay down on your bed exhausted. The darkness outside told you that dinner was about to be served so you hurried downstairs. Feeling someone watching you, you freeze and look around warily. The hall was empty so you shrugged it off and left.

You ate in silence as Franky talks about going on vacation with everyone in the family, making you look up from your meal and stare at him. He grins at you and Robin before frowning as he suddenly realizes—

"Wait a minute, where's Chopper?" He glances down at the empty seat beside yours.

"Chopper?" You echo. Feeling that you were being watched again, you snap your head in the direction of the kitchen and spot beady eyes stare back into your own.

Robin follows your gaze and smiles. "Chopper, come over here and say hi to your new sister." She laughs, motioning the young boy to come closer.

Chopper looked about the age of eight years old and had wavy brown hair and tan skin. He runs over to Robin and hugs her.

"Is he their son?" You ask yourself as Chopper blinked at you.

"I'm sorry, (Name). He's really a shy boy." Robin laughs and kisses the top of his head. Chopper smiles at Robin before looking back at you with a worried look. He didn't seem comfortable being around you.

You took one last spoonful before standing up. "Thanks for dinner. May I be excused?" You ask politely. Robin looks to Franky and he just shrugs. You take it as an okay and leave to your room.

"What a day..." You sigh at the ceiling as you flopped into bed.

A picture of your mom and dad sat on the dresser across the room, making you frown slightly and facing the other way.

"Why did you have to die and leave me alone?" You mutter, eye lids suddenly feeling heavier by the second.

You dreamt about the past few weeks when they were healthy and still alive. It felt so real that you could almost touch them. But deep down you knew this wasn't reality. Your dreams were the only things that kept you connected to them. To see them smile and hear their voices again. It was paradise.

It only took one house fire to take it all away.

You gasp and sit up abruptly, chest heaving and screaming for air. The room you were in was unfamiliar to you. "Oh, right. I'm living here now." You sigh sadly, lying back down on the bed.

It was still 5 in the morning and everyone was probably asleep still. You yawned and rolled over to your other side, not really wanting to wake up yet. Your eye lids were half-closed but you could make out a figure sleeping in your bed with you. "Is that Chopper?" You groan inwardly.

You idly stare at the pair of onyx eyes staring back at you. You inspect him slowly from head to toe. That was absolutely NOT Chopper.

You gasp as the handsome young man with freckles and raven black hair smirked at your sleepy state. "Wake up, princess~" He coos, making you sit up with widen eyes and scream your lungs out.
