Chapter 11

December 25

4:30 pm

[Park Hyunjin]

The time has come. Im kinda excited but at the same time, Im nervous. I just wore something nice. I curled my hair and put a little make up on, only eyeliner and a lip gloss. I don't want to put a lot of make up because it looks like a cake was thrown on my face. I also wore the beanie Jeonghan gave me. Mrs. Han messaged me that I will perform at 4:50 pm. I havent even told her that Jeonghan is gonna perform with me. I'll just tell her when we're there already.

I went to Le Café as fast as I can because I still have to fix something.

I opened the door and entered the café. I was really amazed when I got in, there were Christmas decorations everywhere. It was very beautiful and it made the café more attractive.

I went to Mrs. Han's office to inform that I'll be performing with Jeonghan. As I opened the door, there I saw Mrs. Han fixing the papers, putting them in the drawer. "Umm... hello Mrs. Han." I said and she turned her head to me.

"Oh! Hello Hyunjin. Shouldn't you be getting ready already?" she asked and I nodded.

"Yes, I know but can I perform with someone?" I asked, hoping she'll say yes.

She gave me a sweet smile, "Sure you can. But who is this person?"

"Its Jeonghan, Mrs. Han. He's the one who performed here last December 15."

"Oh sure! Go get ready now. Is he here already?" she asked again and I nodded. Before I leave her office, I thanked her.

I got my guitar, preparing myself to perform. Jeonghan wasn't here yet which made me really nervous and worried. Is he gonna go here? Putting on my guitar strap, I grabbed my phone and decided to dial Jeonghan's number.

I waited until he finally answered it.

"Hey Hyunjin. Why'd you call me?"

"Why'd I call you? Its almost time for our performance but your still not here." I sighed heavily, putting my hand on my waist.

"You sure Im not there? Try again, Hyunjin."

I looked around hoping to see him somewhere in the crowd. I saw a familiar figure from afar. He was carrying a guitar bag on his back. His hair was tied at the back because it was kinda long. I smiled and waved at him, hanging up my phone. He came towards me with a smile on his face.

"I thought you won't come, Jeonghan. Did you know, you made me worried? I thought I'll be performing by myself." I frowned as he pinched my cheek lightly.

"Sorry for making you worried." he chuckled lightly. "Lets get ready now. You still memories the lyrics right?" he asked and I nodded, giving him a thumbs up.

We went up the stage, getting ourselves ready. We tapped the mic to make sure they both work. I sat on the chair and so did Jeonghan. As I faced the crowd, the first thing I saw was Hyolin giving me two thumbs up. She mouthed, 'You can do this'. I even saw other staff at the crowd, even Mrs. Han was there. I then turned my gaze to Jeonghan. "We can do this." he murmured, loud enough for me to hear. "One, two, three and..." we both started strumming our guitar.

We arranged the songs though. The first song we'll play will be 'Lost Stars', next is 'Because of You', the last is 'Mistletoe'. We agreed with each other that it'll be better if it was like that.

After our performance, the crowd started clapping. I looked at Jeonghan, who was smiling and gave me a thumbs up. As we got off the stage, "That was great, Jeonghan!" I suddenly hugged him without me knowing.

"Yeah, it was." he wrapped his arms around me. My heart started beating uncontrollably, feeling butterflies in my stomach. As we both pulled away, I looked away.

"S-sorry for... that." I shyly said.

"No, its fine. You don't have to say sorry for that."

Hyolin suddenly came and gave me a hug. "Oh my gosh! You were so amazing, JinJin. Im so proud even though Im not your mother nor sister." she giggled and pulled from the hug. Someone suddenly came, let me just say, four guys.

"You really sang the song we made two years ago?" the short guy asked. Well he was the shortest among all of them. Im not insulting his height okay? Im just telling the truth.

"Yeah, I did. I just thought that it'll be nice to sing it again." Jeonghan said. He turned his gaze to me and smiled. "I also want you guys to meet Hyunjin. Hyunjin, this are my friends, Seokmin, Seungkwan, Jihoon, and Jisoo." he pointed at them one by one. They waved at me and smiled, greeting me kindly.

"Its nice to meet you all." I said.

"So... are you gonna go now?" the guy, who I assume is Seokmin, said.

Jeonghan looked at his wristwatch, "Oh right. I gotta go guys. Bye Hyunjin! See you!" he waved at me. He took his guitar with him and left the café. My smile suddenly faded when he left. I sighed, putting my guitar in my guitar bag. Someone suddenly held my wrist, which was Hyolin.

"Your not going back in your apartment because you'll be going with us." she pointed the four guys.

"Why?" I asked but she just suddenly pulled me. Jihoon, I think, he carried my guitar bag. Hyolin pulled me in a car, who I don't really know the owner. The other four guys hopped in. I don't really know what's going on. Im really confused.

As we reached the place, I was really shocked why we're here. "Lovers Park? Why're we here?" I asked.

I heard Hyunjin giggled. "Its not 'we' because you'll be going by yourself. I'll just drop you at the place and you're on your own." she opened the door and got out of the car. I followed her, wherever she goes.

"I asked earlier, why're we-- why am I here?"

"You'll find out soon as you get there." I sighed and rolled my eyes.

We stopped infront of a beautiful building. Hyolin patted my shoulder, "You're on your own now. Bye Hyunjin!" she waved at me and left.

"Wait--" I was gonna ask her one last question but she was gone. I sighed and decided to enter the building.

I was mesmerized with the beauty, there were a lot of flowers. A lady suddenly came and asked, "Are you perhaps Hyunjin, young lady?".

I nodded, "Why?"

She smiled, "Follow me." she went somewhere, I just followed her. She opened the door for me, "Please enter." she said and I just entered, thanking her.

I looked around, still mesmerized with the beauty of this building. I went to the balcony and saw two chairs and between it is a table. There is even a flower placed at the middle.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" I suddenly heard someone from behind. I looked back and saw Jeonghan. I didn't really expect him to be here. I thought he was with the girl he likes?

"Yeah, it is." he went beside me. "Jeonghan," I continued, "I thought you were with the girl you like?"

He smiled and gripped my shoulder, making me face him. "I am." he said and I was confused.

"What?" I questioned and he just shook his head. He held my hand and went towards the table. He offered me a sit so I accepted it and thanked him. He took the sit at the other side. "So..." it was kinda getting akward.

"Umm... Hyunjin," he took a deep breath and continued, "I... I... I really want to say this to you since the first time I met you.".

"What is it?" I asked.

He held both of my hands and looked straight at my eyes. "Ever since I saw you in my own eyes, I knew that you were the one for me. You were special. You weren't like the other girls, you were different. Whenever I see you, my heart always beat crazy. Your smile always makes my day, I always hope that I'll see that smile everyday. Your eyes were like twinkling stars. Hyunjin, what I really want to say is..." he took a deep breath, "I l-like you."

I just stared at him, shocked. "Jeonghan, I never knew you felt like that at first. I want to tell you something too." I held his hand and grinned.

"I like you too." he smiled, standing up and gestured me to stand up too. He looked at me and cupped my cheeks.

"Hyunjin, will you be my girlfriend?" he asked and I smiled, nodding. He started cheering by himself, shouting 'yes!'. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me to a hug. "Thank you, Hyunjin." he pulled away as he stared at me. He put some strands of hair behind my ear as he moved nearer.

Our lips touched together. It was like the world stopped and everything froze. I never felt like this before, it was something special. Even though he isn't my first kiss, I felt like he was.

As we both pulled away, Jeonghan smiled and kissed my forehead. "I love you, Hyunjin. I'll never let you go, I'll always love you, and I promise that."

I smiled and hugged him, "I love you too, Jeonghan. But..." I pulled away and looked at him. "If you promise something, please don't break it."

He nodded, "Of course I wont."

So its true. Love at first sight is true. I thought it only happens in dramas and stories but no, it can happen in reality. People might think that its so cliché, but it doesn't matter.

I never thought Jeonghan would like me back. I thought he just think of me as a friend. But, all my thoughts were wrong. I always think negative and not positive. I thought that hopes will just bring you down but it doesn't.

This day, I will never forget this day. Jeonghan, the person who always makes my day, the person who's always by my side, he just made this month special.

Jeonghan, he confessed to me on Christmas day.
