Chapter One: Two Trolls

Author's Note: Hi guys, at this point you probably have read at least one of my fanfic stories. If not then my name is Ruby and for more info about me check my bio. I've been wanting to do a Trolls fanfic for a long time, and I don't know whether to discontinue my HP fanfic or not. So here I am putting my soul into this. I don't want to give up on this because I have already discontinued one story (one story is on hiatus which is the HP fanfiction). Hopefully I don't change my mind but here it goes. I hope you check out my other fanfictions :)

There are many things in life that knock us down or break us. Most people are able to get back on their feet. Branch, my older brother, is the bravest person I know for taking care of me despite all he had to face. He doesn't smile at anyone but me. I don't ask about what happened because it's too painful for him to remember.

Now the question is who am I. My name is Olive Sparks and I am the person that kept Branch on the ground. Without me, he'd be moping around and overworking himself. Today we are collecting branches (don't ask because I have no clue myself) and I hear Poppy and her friends singing.

"They're going to get themselves caught!" Branch said, groaning from all the noise.

"Can we go meet them? I want to see Poppy again," I said, loving the song.

"Fine but I'm not going to like it. Might as well warn them too."

And so we came just as they ended the song. Branch slowly clapped and sarcastically said with some truth, "Unbelievable guys. Really, really great. Good job, I can hear you from a mile away!"

"Good, I was worried we weren't projecting enough!" Poppy said with her bubbly personality.

"Poppy, if I can hear you then so can the Bergens."

"He's not wrong there but it was a good song," I said, smiling a little.

"Oh boy," one of the Snack Pack, Poppy's friends, said.

"Here we go again," another one of them said.

"Oh, Branch..." another one groaned.

"You always ruin everything," Satin said and Chenille finishes, "Warning us about the Bergens."

"I don't," Branch said stubbornly.

"Branchy boy, I love you as a younger sister but you crashed a birthday party, a wedding, and a funeral. That's kinda bad and the Bergens weren't even coming," I said, wincing slightly as I put a hand on his shoulder.

"Ok, I'm sorry about that but the Bergens will come for us one day," Branch said, placing his hand on my hand.

"Come on! We haven't seen a Bergen in 20 years. They are not going to find us," Poppy said, brushing off the possibility.

"No, they are not going to find me and Olive because we will be in our highly camouflaged, heavily fortified, Bergen-proof survival bunker."

"You mean, you're not coming to the party tonight?"

"But it's going to be the biggest," Satin and Chenille started.

"The loudest," DJ Suki continued.

"The craziest party ever!" Cooper finished as the Snack Pack cheered.

I was definitely not going to be coming because I don't like so much noise and I fear that the Bergens will come. "Big? Loud? Crazy? You're going to lead the Bergens right to us!" Branch said with disbelief.

"Are you sure you wanna invite this party pooper to poop on your party?" Cooper asked, leaning towards Poppy.

"Yes, I think everyone deserves to be happy," Poppy said with a smile which made me smile.

"I don't do happy," Branch says grumpily.

"You are happy with me," I say, resting my head on his shoulder.

"That's because you make me happy," he said, trying to brush me off.

Poppy then handed him an invitation and the card sang. Then it sprayed glitter on Branch's face. I snickered because his face was just priceless. "What do you say, Branch?"

He puts on a smile, throws the invitation to the ground, and steps on it. It was a bit harsh in my opinion. The Snack Pack obviously thought so too so they gasped. As Branch wiped the glitter away, Smidge said, "Oh my God!"

"I wouldn't be caught dead at your party but you will be. Caught and dead," Branch said coldly as he used his hand to gesture a head being chopped off.

"Whoa, whoa. Easy Branch, easy," Creek said, descending with a bug holding his hair to bring him down. He was sitting criss cross.

Creek is very well known for leading meditations and calming people down. He likes making fun of Branch in his own idiotic way. His very presence makes me want to punch him in the face. No one else hates him unfortunately because he's a "very nice guy that means well".

"Thank you for providing safe passage, brother. Namaste," Creek said to the bug before it flew away. I make a subtle groan and Branch holds my hand knowingly.

"Okay, first of all mate, thanks for sharing your unique perspective in things. Again," Creek said, looking at the Snack Pack to hide his expression on the last word. Biggie and Cooper snicker as I growl with a frown on my face. "But just for now, why don't you both try on some positivity, eh? A little positivity might go with that vest."

"I'll go first then," I say, smiling a bit too sweet, "I am positive that you are a big nuisance. I am also very positive that you'll be the first to get eaten by a Bergen. Also I'm very, very positive that we would all be happy if you just left us alone."

When the Snack Pack just looked at me, I said sweetly, "He said to be positive. Was it a bit of an overload?"

"I don't think you should be rude to him," Poppy said, defending Creek.

"Just being positive and it's not my fault he picks on my brother."

"My turn next then. I'm positive you all are going to be eaten," Branch said, smiling at me for giving him inspiration.

Suddenly everyone's hug-time bracelets went off and everyone got into a hug. I don't like being squished into a hug because then it gets uncomfortable. Moreover, it means that Creek is here. "Oh that feels good. Our hearts are synchronizing," Creek says.

"Ew, I'm out since Creep ruined it for me," I say, not wanting to synchronize with Creek. I crawled out and eventually Branch got out too.

"Will you come then, Olive?" Creek asked.

"Yeah, it's going to be big," Poppy said, agreeing with Creek.

"I don't like loud places and Bergens could come too," I say, still hating Creek's existence.

"But won't you come for me? I'll be there."

"Good, more of a reason to not come."

"By the way, I have been meaning to ask you this. Olive Sparks, despite your pessimistic brother, I have a place for you in my heart. You are the greatest Troll ever so will you be my girlfriend?" Creek says, holding out a silver ring with a diamond as blue as Biggie.

"May I?" I ask, wanting the ring.

Creek lights up as Branch dims down. He handed the ring to me so I threw the ring towards the forest. Everyone gasps as Creek falls onto his knees. "Sorry but I don't date creeps, especially ones that don't like my brother," I say, returning to my overly sweet tone.

"Anyways, when the Bergens find us and the survival of every Troll is in your hands, I sure hope the answer is singing, dancing, and hugging because that's all you know how to do!" Branch says, scowling a bit.

"That is not true! Poppy can scrapbook too," Biggie said, defending Poppy.

"I can't believe you're going to be queen one day!"

Branch leaves in a huff with the branches and I follow after him, feeling sorry for Poppy. "Branch, you're being too harsh on her. You should try being a bit nicer like, I can't believe I'm saying this, Creek said about being more positive. Doesn't mean you have to but Poppy truly means well," I say, trying to reason with Branch.

"I hate how she's so carefree about everything though. Poppy isn't concerned about the Bergens at all," Branch says, growling a bit.

"Just be glad that I didn't accept Creek's request," I say, giggling a bit.

"I was concerned for a moment that you'd put the ring on. Good thinking about throwing the ring."

Then I saw Branch blushing and then I said, "Wait a minute, aw Branchy boy has a crush on my friend!"

"I don't!" Branch says, his blush getting redder against his gray skin.

"Then why do you still have her invitation? And why do you look at the wall of Poppy's invitations and scrapbooks with such passion when you're sad?" I questioned with a playful smirk that lit up my eyes.

"And why are you so annoying?"

We reached the bunker and he added the invitation to the wall that he dedicated to Poppy. He smiled somewhat and his sky blue eyes were lit. I then cleared my throat and said, "You crush on Poppy! Now I should make a ship for you to sail on and it shall be named Broppy! Don't worry, I'll make sure the ship is safe for your honeymoon."

"Aw shut it," Branch groaned as I giggled.

I open my heart shaped locket and see the family picture. All the brothers I never knew and my mom and dad all looked with happy faces. This picture was taken before me and my brother was born so I kept it as a memorial. The truth is I'm waiting for those brothers to come back, especially the pink haired guy. Branch saw what I was looking at and he said, "I don't think they're coming back. That pink haired guy, Floyd, may come but I've given up on that hope. Don't hope too hard about them."

"Alright, I'll be in my room then if you need me," I say, faking a smile.

"And I'll be making dinner then," Branch said, turning over to the kitchen.

And so I went up to my room and laid down on my orange bed. I thought a lot about my other brothers, and I had wished for them to come back so that we'd be a family again. Branch kept saying that they wouldn't come back after Grandma got eaten. "Where are you, brothers? Did you really ditch me?" I whispered softly.

When I am alone, I sit and dream
And when I dream, the words are missing
Yes, I know that in a room so full of light
That all the light is missing
But I don't see you with me, with me

Close up the windows, bring the sun to my room
Through the door you've opened
Close inside of me the light you see
That you met in darkness

Time to say goodbye
Horizons are never far
Would I have to find them alone
Without true light of my own?
With you I will go
On ships over seas
That I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye

When you were so far away
I sat alone and dreamt of the horizon
Then I knew that you were here with me, with me
Building bridges over land and sea
Shine a blinding light for you and me
To see, for us to be

Time to say goodbye
Horizons are never far
Would I have to find them alone
Without true light of my own?
With you I will go
On ships over seas
That I now know
No, they don't exist anymore
It's time to say goodbye

I sneak out back to the spot Branch confronted Poppy, and reverse time back to the point where he got fed up with her. Yes I have powers and no I have kept them a secret from Branch. He'd freak out if he found out anyways. Poppy looks sad and my heart breaks that I wasn't there.

"Tune out his negative vibrations, Poppy. They're toxic," Creek said, placing a hand on her shoulder, "Some people just don't want to be happy."

"Damn, he moves on fast," I mumbled to myself.

"Why do you think Olive doesn't want to come? Was it something that I did?" Poppy asked, frowning a bit.

"Perhaps because she is just a loner that takes after her brother."

I would've punched him if he had dared to say that. It's like being an introvert is not appreciated. Introverts just like having fun in different ways. I turn back home, climb back up to my window, and sigh. Me and my brother are the outcasts in the eyes of most Trolls. I want someone who understands me other than Branch.
