Oliver was given all the reasons to trust felicity and he was even considering to bring her in as back up for himself and Diggle, he was hesitant and didn't know why. He would normally think through all his options where this time when felicity asked to meet up with him regarding something important he readily agreed without a second thought. He was nervous and wondered what was so important and when he met her he noticed she to was nervous . After 10 minutes of silence she finally spoke more like asked a question. "Can I trust you?" And Oliver looked at her surprised by the question, to she offered a response " the thing is, I've been debating whether or not to share this with you for weeks . Ever since we first met in my crucible and you sure have dropped some fairly ridiculous lies on me yet I still feel like I can trust you so help me understand why is that?"
He was tongue tied and did know what to say and so she took that as a yes and removed the book Walter gave her. Oliver recognised that book as it was similar to one Robert gave him. He let her speak again and she told him that Walter life maybe in danger and it is cause he tried to look deeper into the contents of the book. Oliver replied that she could give the book to the SCPD and she said that would put him in danger so she wouldn't do it. He asks her why she said that and she tells him that she knows he is the vigilante, and that she maybe be blonde but not that blonde, she also tells him not to say anything as it would be a lie and just requests him to go visit his mother Moira as the hood, because her name is in the first page of the book. After that talk felicity walks away letting him think and decide what he will do. But one thing was clear to him and he shall soon bring her in his crusade.
He went back to the foundary and met Diggle there who gave him a recording which told him his mother knew who was involved in Walter's disappearance and was being blackmailed to keep mum. Diggle asked him to pay a visit to his mother just like felicity and he agreed but after taking down two of the people lined up on the list as the had planned that night felicity expected him to visit moira but he didn't so she let go and decided to find Walter on her own the next night around 2 felicity returned to QC to hack Moiras computer from her IT department. She had no idea that the hood was in her office and once she copied the data she left to go home as her vigilante time that day was over. However the night had other plans for her as moira shot the hood and he fell from the window of moiras office. He safely landed but had lost a lot of blood and so enter the closest car around a mini cooper which he recognised as felicity's. She entered her car only to see the hood injured in the back sit and he told her who he really was and revealed his face asking her for a promise to take him to his fathers old steel factory where his base was and she exactly did that with out a question. When she reached there Diggle helped her
Take Oliver in and the managed to patch him up. She started work on her surrounding ancient computer devices upgrading them to work better much to her satisfaction, Diggle went to get some food for them all and when he got back he was panicking about what was playing on the news Oliver got up and looking at Diggle switched on the news , he heard a reporter say the SCPD had got a blood sample of the hood and will soon identity him. Oliver got up and was going to destroy the sample when felicity spoke and told them not to worry she hacked the SCPD test lab and has already ordered to destroy the sample .
He thanked her and asked if she wanted to help them and that the would really need her as their eyes in the field. She asked for time to give it a thought as she may need to keep her secret . She eventually agreed in an hour as she needed to find Walter as he helped her sincerely unlike most who always want something out of the care and help they provide. She agreed on condition that she would help them only during office hours and at night from 11 pm to 4 am . And time between 6 pm to 11 pm was off limits for vigilante business, unless extreme danger . Even though they would ask her why she never answer and always said she will be honest with them for everything that happens from there onwards, but her past will remain a secret until she is ready.Soon the three managed to cross off many of the names in the list , oliver kept his secret of life during the island to himself and felicity too kept her secrets to herself Diggle however told them his secret and the all bonded really well as friends. She normally never saw Oliver workout as she entered the foundry late when they were all set for patrolling so had not seen his scars. Some part of Oliver was afraid that felicity would run away from him just like his family and friends who still hadn't come around with the fact oliver had been changed on the island when they saw his scars and was glad she would come late.
However about 4 months later when the school children had holidays she asked her mom to take Zain with her to Las Vegas and hence went to the foundry earlier, dig was out with lyla that day and Oliver was working out shirtless, all his scars visible .as she entered and took in the amazing view of him working out , and she exclaimed loud enough to get Oliver conscious of his body, and he quickly wore his t-shirt, he came closer to felicity and apologised for scaring her with his scars and asked her if there was any thing important that she came in early. She was going to reply in negative but his apology made her want to talk to him and help him accept his scars with out being ashamed of them. She took his hand and pulled him to a nearby mattress gesturing him to sit and took a seat beside him. She didn't know how to start but said " I don't want you to apologise " to which he remained mum and tried to read felicty's face as she continued speaking " I am not afraid of your scars, you should not also be cause they are what make you the man I know, a hero willing to sacrifice himself for his city." He reply saying that's not true and that he is a monster , murderer and a broken soul that no one wants to be around and many are afraid of him. She says that's not true and moves closer to him removing his shirt he tries to stop her but she tells him it's ok, she uses her fingers and touches his scars going over the front ones and then the ones on his back . As she does this she says " these scars don't show the monstrous side in you they instead show that you have gone through so much in order to survive and have surely become a better man even though you don't believe it."
There proximity was intoxicating to both and they were just about to kiss when the door of the foundry opened, they quickly separated and Oliver once again wore his t shirt ,Diggle came in and was surprised to see felicity early and asked whether everything was ok she replied positively and said she would come early for the next whole month as she needed to be more occupied to avoid some deep thoughts .their bonding session ended with news of another archer framing the hood and calling himself the dark archer and holding hostages.When Oliver and Diggle left to rescue the hostages and with the dark archer (malcolm merlyn ) completing with the hood felicity recognised his moves and secretly investigated him. Oliver and Diggle were successful and the dark archer had gone silent after their encounter. Oliver had no idea of what felicity was searching for but knew that he could trust felicity with his life.
Apart from vigilante stuff Tommy and laurel got engaged and were planning to marry in a weeks time so Oliver put a hold on his vigilante stuff and fully involved himself to his two best friends wedding as felicity had suggested and he later thanked her for that. Soon felicity informed him of a suspicion she had for the company merlyn globals owned by malcolm and he went with her to gather the information and they then learned about plans to create an earth quake stimulator that malcolm was building.
