Chapter 4.
After dinner, and doing the dishes, we sat in the hall chinwagging, and the party will not be bummer. We were reminiscing about our live in metropolitan city. As we were nattering, I got up from the sofa, and went near the window. There was an immense lush green forest behind the tower, and, we can view the state highway, and there was a huge mountain range. I looked at the lights on the mountain, there was a beacon, and there was a temple out there. From my childhood, I have seen a temple on the mountains, however, there were few people who visit there. It was believed that the temple was visited by occultist during lunar eclipse. People from our town seldom visited there, and I guess there was something strange about the temple, however, people from our town who visited there has informed that the temple is consecrated, and occultist who visit there has nothing to do with it. I was looking at the mountain, and the spots of light on the temple, I clearly remember the location of the temple, I could see the light escaping from the temple.
I said, "Guys come here. I wanna show you something." My friends assembled near the large window. I pointed towards the light, and told them about the temple. Jagadev exclaimed, "God!!! That is fabulous." Supriya replied, "That's certainly a wonderful part of this town." I conversed, "Yes, but unfortunately haven't been there." Surya questions, "How about visiting that fabulous place?" Jagriti says, "Bingo!! I would be more than happy, but perhaps, that would be on weekends." Adarsh turned to me, and said, "Brother, guess we would visit this coming weekend." I nodded, and replied, "Certainly, we may go." After that, we retired to our homes. The next day, I decided to visit the old library, where I use to go.
After completing my work, I entrusted some work to my staff, and I walked towards the reception of our building. I stopped to look at the two huge plaques hanging on the white walls. One of the plaques contained the name of the owners of the apartments, while the other plaque contained the layout of the building. All the sudden, something caught my attention, I looked at the layout, there were refuge area in fifth floor, tenth floor, twelfth floor, and the last being thirteenth floor. I was quite surprised, that thirteenth floor was also converted into refuge area. I remembered that, some of our folks in town believe in old wives' tale, and still, they consider number thirteen as inauspicious. I smiled, and I walked outside my building.
