(¯'.._..(¯'.._..(¯'.._.. Chapter Four .._..'¯).._..'¯).._..'¯)
(Y/N)'s POV
"(Y/N), that's crazy!" Lukas says. "You'll be killed for sure!"
"But if I don't go down there, Aiden will be killed for sure. I can't let that happen."
"(Y/N)—," Maya starts.
"No, you can't change my mind," I argue, choking back tears. "I'm going back for him and that's final!"
"Okay," Jesse says. "Be careful, (Y/N)."
"I will be. Go try to get Gabriel's help while I'm gone."
I run back towards the door. Fish comes with me. I slowly creep downstairs.
"Aiden?" I whisper-shout so the golem doesn't hear me. "Where are you?"
"(Y/N)?" I hear him. I sneak towards the sound of his voice. I spot him inside a chest, peeking out.
"Aiden!" He quickly closes the chest. "Aiden?" I turn around to see the golem standing right behind me. I quickly run to a new space where the golem can't find me.
"Aiden, you just stay put," I tell him. He opens the chest again and looks at me. "I'll create a distraction."
I look around and spot an empty potion bottle. I pick it up and throw it at a shelf of potions. The bottle shatters and the golem goes over to investigate.
"Aiden! Now!"
He jumps out of the chest and runs over to me.
I start to run back at the door when the iron golem swings at me. I dodge it, but he goes to strike again. Luckily, Fish starts hissing at it and distracts it from me.
We continue running but stop half-way up the stairs for Aiden to say, "Thank you, (Y/N). Thanks for coming back."
"Of course!" I reply. "You're my best friend. I couldn't just leave you down here." What I was thinking in my mind was different from what I say out loud. What I think is, Of course I'd come back for you. I love you. I can't live without you. But, of course, he really doesn't need to know. I don't want him to know until I am absolutely sure that he loves me, too. As more than a friend.
*~*~*~*
We get upstairs to find the others talking to Gabriel. Gill is the one speaking, which isn't really a good sign. I can tell they are getting nowhere. We walk towards the others, only to hear someone interrupt.
"I have a question," the person says.
"I'm sorry, you'll have to wait your turn," Gabriel replies calmly.
"Tell me; do you really think that anyone can be great?" he continues, disregarding Gabriel's sentence.
"With enough hard work, yes."
"Is that where I went wrong? I simply didn't work hard enough?" I see the man emerge from the crowd and recognize him as the man who owned the Wither.
"Ivor!" Gabriel says. Ivor. So that's his name. "I see time has made you bitter."
"And it has made you an even bigger fool!" Ivor walks onto the stage. "Why don't you tell them the real story, Gabriel?"
The real story? "He's the one who attacked us in the basement!" I call out.
"I wish I could say that I'm surprised," Gabriel says.
"If you don't tell them the real story, they'll just have to find out themselves." Ivor pulls a lever, causing the wither structure to be lifted onto the stage. Only this time, two of the skulls are placed on top, one on the far left and the other far right. "It didn't have to be this way." He pulls out the third skull.
"Ivor, no!" Gabriel shouts, but he's too late.
The Wither has been spawned. It holds the block that was in the middle of the structure in its rib cage.
Screams of terror arise from the crowd. Everyone starts running, except for Gabriel, Ivor, my friends, and me. Fish hisses at the monster. His fur is all sticking out and his eyes are giant. The Wither starts sucking up the theater.
"Ivor! Why would you do this?" Gabriel says. He sounds like he's scared, even though he's the greatest warrior ever.
"They should know the truth," Ivor answers. "Creature, attack!"
"Don't worry, I'll save everyone!" Gabriel says confidently, running up to the creature with his diamond sword. He hits it right on the block, but the creature is too strong. It throws Gabriel backwards.
"He can't stop it, but I can!" Ivor tells us. "Creature, retreat!" Nothing happens. The creature now has a big black head instead of a skull. "Creature, retreat!" Nothing happens again. "Don't worry; I have an elixir that can destroy it." He pulls out a bottle with purple liquid.
"Wait a minute—," I start. Ivor throws the potion. It does absolutely nothing because it is not the real potion, but a potion that Gill used to cover up his thievery.
"What? Why didn't it work? I took such care!" Ivor says worriedly.
"Gill! Throw the real potion!" Maya shouts.
"You thieves! You're ruining everything!" Ivor yells.
"But, finders, keepers," Gill complains.
"Come on, Gill! This thing will kill us if we don't stop it now!" I say calmly, trying to negotiate with him. He finally gives in and hands me the potion. I throw it and hit it right on the block, but I'm too late. The Wither covers itself, disabling the ability to stop it.
"It's protecting itself!" Gabriel shouts. "You!" He points at my friends and me. "You're the only ones who aren't running away! Will you help me?"
"Of course!" I reply.
"Get to my fortress. We should be safe there." I nod and run out with the others.
I run into a group of chickens from the chicken machine. "Go away, chickens!" I push through them. I don't realize it, but a tractor beam from the Wither is right behind me. It catches up to me and I shriek. "Anyone? Help!" A slab of stone is also being picked up. I grab onto it and pull myself out. I run to find the others and bump into Aiden.
"(Y/N)! Thank you so much for coming back for me. If you didn't . . . I wouldn't be here."
"I would never leave you behind."
"(Y/N)!" I hear Lukas call from under a booth. He beckons to Aiden and me. We follow him to take cover. Then, a tractor beam picks up the stand, exposing us.
"Run!" I scream as I start sprinting.
We make it onto grass. A few trees are on fire and people are also running towards Gabriel's fortress. We run and run until we come to a bunch of trees in the middle of the pathway on fire. At this point, we split into two groups. I take the left side and dodge people here and there and a tractor beam. I jump over a line of fire and finally make it to the fortress. I run inside and Gabriel pulls a switch.
"Run through the portal!" he orders.
We run through the hallway. Jesse lights the portal with her flint and steel. I notice Lukas at the other side of the hallway, blocked off by a tractor beam. Gabriel runs to help him across, only to get pulled into the beam.
"Lukas! Save Gabriel!" I yell. The others have gone through the portal; it's only Aiden, Gabriel, Lukas, and me. Lukas runs up to save Gabriel and is trapped by a tractor beam himself. "Lukas!" I run over to help him. "Aiden! Save Gabriel!" I grab Lukas's foot and pull him down. Aiden just stands there, paralyzed. "Go, you two!" Lukas stays behind to help me with Gabriel, but he's out of reach.
"Go through the portal and find the Order's temple!" Gabriel says as he floats away. "Oh, and, here, take this!" He pulls out an amulet with four colored glass bars, light blue, green, red, and white, surrounding a blue piece of glass and throws it to me. I catch it. "It will help you find the others!"
Others?
A tentacle breaks through the roof. I pull out my sword and start to swing at it, but I'm too late. It hits me and I smack into Aiden as we are thrown into the portal.
