Earlier on, that same night, Ruth had just come back from a late shift at work and she was feeling very tired... So she thought it would be a good idea to go to bed early. As she went into her bedroom after washing up, thoughts were starting to hit her. All of a sudden, it was all these thoughts about the days in highschool last year and how she and I had treated each other. No matter how hard she try to get rid of her thoughts, she just couldn't. Eventually, she was sighing heavily and even pulling at her face in frustration. Soon after, all she could do was drop down on to her bed and fall asleep and that's when Dreamy Ruth decided to take action, this was Ruth's first dream:

- This dream takes place in the school yard -

Ruth: "Hey Lisa, remember when Megan and Sarah took the chilli challenge? Oh my God that was so hilarious!"

Lisa: "Yeah, I do... Hey Ruth... I don't want to do this anymore.

Ruth: "You don't want to do what?".

Lisa: "I don't want to be your friend anymore".

Ruth: "Why is that?".

Lisa: "I just think you're too attached to us. You need to give us some space".

- Lisa then started to float away and Ruth was left on her own -

- Ruth was now in a tiny courtyard and the rest of her group were on this big oval. Separating them was this electric barrier -

- Ruth tried to call out to the group but no one could hear her, only Ruth could hear them and the girls were making fun of her -

Megan: "Look at her! She looks so pathetic!".

Mary: "I know right. She will never be a snake like us and besides, when did thirteen ever become a lucky number? Twelve's enough for us awesome kids".

Lisa: "I can't believe she was once my best friend".

Sally: "Let's ditch her and leave her in the mud".

Dora: "Yeah, she's not good enough for us".

Sarah: "Everyone repeat after me... She's a loser! She's a freak!"

- The "She's a loser! She's a freak!" phrase is repeatedly said, causing Ruth to break down -

- Karla comes out of nowhere into the courtyard where Ruth is -

Karla: "You don't want to admit you're being bullied by your former friends".

Ruth: "Just shut up".

Karla: "So you'd rather let the bullies keep talking and tell the true friend to say nothing".

Ruth: "Go away! I hate you! It's all your fault! You pushed my friends away!".

Karla: "As you wish".

- Karla fades away and Ruth starts to wake up -

It's early morning but Ruth doesn't have to go to work today. Ruth wakes up feeling tired, like she wants to sleep more, but she can't. With another heavy sigh, Ruth had decided to get up and make some progress on year twelve holiday homework that was due back on her first day of school. "Let's just go and do some of that hideous Further Maths", said said to her myself. "Why am I even doing this subject anyway?". And so she went over to her desk and reached into the adjacent shelf for a book of notes that I had constructed and given her a copy of last year as a "me not being at school anymore" gift. She then held the notes right out in front of her and gave yet another sigh, then slamming the notebook onto her desk. But then she changed again into a more gentle Ruth, carefully opening the book and then flicking through some of the pages. It was almost so obvious, Ruth did not like what she saw in her dream and she felt like some powerful force was influencing it... But not that it was her own subconscious that had come to life!
