And he started to explain his "STORY"

Whereas she went into her FLASHBACK...

FLASHBACK...6 YEARS AGO...

I spent most nights of my junior year in high school babysitting. It was my parent's fault, really. Apparently having a real job would affect my grades too much, and my parents hardly cared about me to fulfill my necessities...so I was stuck earning my money by spending my nights in various houses, feeding hot dogs to hyper-active kids while their parents took a night off.

It wasn't terrible, by any means. In fact, I took it quite seriously. I don't mind children, and at most places I had full access to the fridge while I finished off my reports.. after putting the kids to bed. The pay wasn't bad, either. I liked to play games with the kids ...which reduced some of the sadness of my life...and most of the time, the kids asked for me back before their parents did.

It was late February when Mr. Singh called the first time. I gave my cell phone number out to my clients, and he was lucky enough to call me on one of my nights off. I was in the room studying when I answered.

S:Hello?

"My name is Ranvijay Singh. I'm looking for Sanyukta Aggarwal," replied the person on the other end. I immediately liked his voice. It wasn't too deep, but it was soft and smooth. I was almost tempted to consider it calming, but he sounded slightly stressed.

S:You've reached her.I'm Sanyukta Aggarwal speaking...

R:Oh, hi Sanyukta. I'm a friend of the Roy's, and they recommended you as a babysitter. I've got a few late meetings next Friday, and my regular sitter isn't available. I was wondering if you'd be available to watch my nephew.

S:I usually take Friday nights off, but it sounds like you could use the help.

R:I really could,I'm afraid I can't offer you more than your regular rate or anything...

S:It's fine (she interrupted)I don't mind, sir, really. I'd love to babysit for your nephew.

R:Thank you so much,(he said, sounding thoroughly relieved) His name is Kabir, and he's three. I would need you from around five until pretty late."

S:Not a problem

I got the rest of the details from him, and made a note of his address. He lived on the other side of town, but I was sure my so called "mom" would be okay with me going there.

Friday came along and I went home after school. I put on my favorite pair of jeans, dark blue and fitting, with a light blue neck t-shirt. I rarely got to go out with my friends or boys, because I always seemed to be taking care of someone else's kids. Usually I was alright with it -- not dating just meant I didn't have to deal with all the drama my friends did, and there were very few guys I knew that I was really interested in, anyway.

I knew there was a reason for it. I would never mind about it though.

I didn't know about Mr Singh, though. The Roy's were a couple in their early forties, and since they had referenced me, I figured Mr Singh might be a bit older . After putting on just a bit of makeup and brushing my long hair off my face tying them into a long ponytail, I grabbed my backpack and went to the scooty to drive over.

I walked up the driveway. The house was in a fairly good neighbourhood and looked pretty nice. I rang the doorbell and waited patiently.

The door was opened a few moments later by a man who, I was surprised to see, looked to be in his early thirties. He was good looking, about 6'2'' and fairly toned, with deep brown eyes and dark grey hair and a fair white beard. He was wearing a nice suit.

S:Mr Singh?(she asked)

R:Yeah, you must be Sanyukta?

S(smiled):Nice to meet you, sir.

He smiled and opened the door. Mr Singh led me into the house .It was nice, but a little messy. There were toys everywhere and I could hear a TV playing a kid's show in the next room.

R:Sorry about the mess,(he said, returning) I haven't had time to clean anything up.

S:It's fine,(she said, smiling)

R:No, it's embarrassing.

He smiled at me apologetically. I chuckled slightly at him thinking what must he had looked in his young age?

My thoughts were interrupted by a little boy rushing into the front hall. Mr Singh turned and lifted the boy.

R:This is Kabir.

Kabir looked at me shyly, but he was smiling. He was absolutely adorable, with big brown eyes just like his Uncle's, and lighter brown hair that fell in his face. He had a smudge of dirt across his cheek and Mr Singh wiped it off tenderly.

S:Hi Kabir,I'm Sanyukta. I'm going to be here with you tonight.

R:Say hi, Kabir

Mr Singh said, nudging the little boy.

K:Hi,(he said quietly)

Mr Singh put him down and Kabir ran back into the other room.

R:I've got to finish getting ready for my meetings,If you wouldn't mind watching Kabir?

S:Of course, that's what I'm here for."I walked into the other room and sat on the couch. Kabir looked up from the floor, where he was playing with some cars. I smiled at him, and he stood up, picking his toys up and walking over to the couch.

"Wanna Sanyukta play?" he asked softly with his broken English.

She nodded instantly..not able to control the urge to say yes...

By the time Mr Singh poked his head in to tell me he was leaving, Kabir and I were playing cars. Kabir hardly noticed his Uncle leaving, making my job easier. Kids always hate it when their Gurdians go.

He was a good kid, and very talkative. We played cars until I decided it was time for him to eat. Over dinner, Kabir told me about his mom. I wasn't exceptionally surprised to find out that his parents were divorced, and how his father..that is Mr Singh's younger brother never bothered about him.It was Mr Singh all alone for him... but I felt little suspicious as to how an older man like Mr Singh be his Uncle?? and I was more shocked to find out how much Kabir knew about it -- especially how easily he told me about how his mother just walked out because of his drunkard father. It's surprising how much information kids can absorb, and I felt so bad for the poor kid that I gave him an extra scoop of ice cream for dessert.

Soon enough I made him asleep and started thinking about the tragedy of Mr Singh's life..

After Kabir was asleep, I tidied up the room and kitchen before settling myself on the couch. I turned the TV on and started studying. It didn't take me long to finish my homework, so I spent some time channel surfing and reading some magazines that Mr Singh had on the coffee table, checking on Kabir every once in awhile. I was so tired that I must have fallen asleep at some point, because I was startled awake when I heard the front door open.

I sat up and a magazine fell off my lap just as Mr Singh entered the room. He smiled at me. "

R:Did I wake you up?

S( yawned): I guess so,I didn't even realise I had fallen asleep.

He laughed and entered the room, bending down to pick up the magazine I dropped.

R:Did Kabir wear you out?

I smiled at him.

S:Well, it's my fault, really.I felt kind of bad for him, so I gave him a little extra ice cream after dinner. He went to bed a little later than you said. I'm sorry.

R:Oh, that's fine,It's rare that he likes babysitters, so a little extra ice cream might have been okay.(he frowned for a moment)Why did you feel bad for him?

I bit my lip nervously.

S:Well, he just started talking about... about his mom... and I just...

Mr Singh smiled, holding a hand up to cut me off.

R:I understand.I took a good look at Mr Singh. He had a young-looking face but still it was covered with old hairs.. his face was attractive but he looked tired and really tense. His tie was loosened slightly and he had taken off his jacket, rolling the sleeves of his shirt up. He caught me looking at him and laughed a bit.

R:I'm a mess, I know,(he sighed, sitting on the couch)It's been hard since... well... she just left. I love him like my own son but she was the one who stayed home with him. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm supposed to balance him and my job.

I smiled, a little unsure of what to say, and he seemed to notice.

R:Sorry!!

S:It's okay,Well, you know, if you need help I can always come over and babysit.

He smiled at me again.

R:I'll keep it in mind. And thanks for cleaning up, you didn't have to do that.

I smiled back lightly.

S:It wasn't a problem.

R:Well, thanks. It really helped.

I picked up my bag.

He leaned back against the couch as I walked away.

After that day...we met 1 or 2 times...

That's when it clicked...

How fool she had been??

Mr Singh was none other than RANDHIR himself!!!

How could she just forget???

S:So...Mr Singh is none other than you Mr Randhir SINGH Shekhawat!!!(she stressed on the word ''SINGH")Kitne jhoot bole hai tumne??? I thought of you as a good person back then...Now I regret that...You are nothing but a freaking B*ST**D who just knows how to lie...RIGHT???

R:Sanyukta I know...whatever I did was wrong...I had my own reasons...

S(folding her hands in front of her chest):And what's the reason???Tell me??? I'am your wife right...then tell me...

Randhir felt good to hear that she called herself as his wife...

But then sighed and said:Sanyukta...mein ek software engineer hun...Mein London mein kaam karta tha...But suddenly mere ek rival ne mere kuch projects ko leak karke khud ke naam ke under publish kar diye...Director of the Company ko pata tha ki woh projects mere hain...But unhe laga ki maine company ko dhoka deke apne rival ko paison ke liye apna most important project bech diya...Uske next din he filed a case against me...Bahut mushkil se bach ke India aaya tha...tabhi mere friend Jiggy ne mujhe bataya ki mein India mein rahunga...toh bhi possibilities thi ki Waha ki Police mujhe pakadne aa jaye...Isilye mujhe apni Identity ko hide karne ke liye Ek old man ki Identity leni padi...Jab tum mere ghar aayi thi tab maine just apni new identity banayi thi...as Mr Ranvijay Singh..aur Jiggy ke contacts ki wajah se kisi ko mujh pe koi doubt bhi nahi hua...Mein toh jald se jald apni yeh Identity ka drama end karne wala tha...but jabse maine tumhe dekha hai...I had lost my heart to you...With the help of Jiggy maine pata lagvaya toh pata chala ki tum ek Engineering student ho...par tumhare parents tumhe financially support karne se mana kar diya tha...Tumhare Mama Abhay Singh Ranawat bhi ek local professor the FUTE mein isilye woh tumhe jyaada help nahi kar paaye...Isilye tum ek baby sitter ka kaam karti ho...aur tumhare parents...tumhare step parents hai...yeh pata chalne ke baad mujhe aisa laga ki mujhe koi apne jaisa hi mila..

Sanyukta looked at him questioningly and said:Kya Matlab??

Randhir sighed sadly and said:I'm a illegitimate child Sanyukta...Jiss bhai ki mein baat kar raha tha..he's my step brother...but ek baat ki khushi hai...I don't have my so called Parents alive...I have some kind of relief...

S:Aisa kyun bol rahe ho??Tumhe kabhi yeh nahi laga ki tumhare Parents hone chahiye the??

R:Haan lagta tha...but saari zindagi anaath ashram mein guzaarne ke baad...jab mere so called "Parents" mujhe lene aaye...to mujhe apne aap se nafrat ho gayi...they were actually gangsters..Jo chote bachon ko kharid ke unke body parts ko disable kar dete hain...aur phir unse bheek mangvate hain...aur meri Mom ek prostitute thi...jisne apni hi beti ko brothel mein bech diya tha...probably my step sister..jiske baare mein mujhe koi idea nahi hai...aur mujhe bhi isi planning se lene ke liye aaye the...but all thanx to Maya Maa..the caretaker of the Anaath ashram..unhone saaf inkaar kar diya tha...mujhe unhe dene se...So mein bach gaya...fir higher studies ke liye London chala gaya...on scholarship...aur phir wahin Job bhi mili...

S:Toh phir tumne mujhse Shaadi kyun ki??? woh bhi ek Old Man banke??

R:Mujhe pata chal gaya tha ki tumhare parents tumse peecha chudana chahte hain..Isilye woh kaise bhi karke ek Groom dhund rahe the...Tumhare bhai Ankit ne toh yeh tak bol diya tha ki koi buddha aadmi ho to bhi chalega...Isilye...to save you from the hell...maine socha...

S(cutting him in between):Ki mujh pe aihsaan kar do...hai na???

R:Nahi Sanyukta...I truly love you...Nahi reh sakte tumhare bina...Aur maine jo bhi kiya...It was just to gain your love...

Sanyukta didn't utter anything and ran inside the washroom..Randhir thought to give some time to her...

Sanyukta splashed water on her face...Within few months..her life showed a lot of twists and turns...She was confused as what to do...

She came out..and noticed a Diary...maybe a Personal Dairy of Randhir...

She took it and neatly tucked it under her kurti...thank god she had wore this...so now Randhir will have no suspicion...

She also noticed something very unusual...which angered her more...and she left the room..walking back to the hall..and without sparing a single glance...she just left from there...

Randhir was puzzled...but sighed sadly...to prove his love...he had to do something now...
