~Natsu's POV

I woke up due to someone poking me repeatedly. Before that 'someone' could do it again I grabbed its wrist.

I tightened and someone groaned in pain. I turned my head and saw Lucy. I immediately let go of her wrist, slightly feeling guilty when it turned red.

"Sorry," I said in a raspy voice. It was always like that in the morning. I yawned one more time and sat up. "Breakfast is ready. Please come, master."

She bowed a little in that uniform of hers. I loved it, her being in my control. I touched my lips. "A kiss first," I demanded.

What? I consider as a couple now, so what's wrong with asking that?

She turned red in a second. Man, I swear she became more shy since yesterday. Maybe it was her first time dating someone. Are we dating?

Maybe I should really take her on a date. But I do know we're in this together.

"I don't want to," she said, getting some fake courage to look me in the eye.

I smirked. "That's an order."

She whined for a second, but soon climbed on bed next to me. She quickly gave me a peck on the lips. Before I could react she pulled away.

Nah, probably wasn't her first time dating.

"Let's go," Lucy said and went out of my room.

I chuckled. Cool. Let's play it this way.

I ate along with Lucy by my side. Lisanna made me some healthy toast and shit.

Lucy sighed loudly before looking me in the eyes, a silent question in her eyes.

"What?" I said and stuffed a piece of an egg in my mouth.

"Can Mira and Elfman visit Lisanna today?"

I just nodded, and Lucy's eyes were filled with relief.

She probably already asked them to come over without asking me first. I would totally see that happen.

I was eating peacefully, until I saw Lucy being dragged away by Loke. After I sighed I went to follow them. He obviously wanted a private conversation without me being there.

Too bad I own this house.

They were in a music room with the door closed, idiots. I picked a glass from the table nearby and tried to eavesdrop them.

"Master Natsu is in a good mood today. Did somethin' happen?" That was Loke, no doubt.

I smirked, catching his snarky tone. He knew I was here.

"We sort of..." Lucy's voice was hestitant, "...confessed our feelings and now we are together."

I heard the gasps in the rooms. Damn. Is everyone there or something?

"You know he is trouble! He would only break your heart," Loke said. He is like the leader of the group.

I gritted my teeth. He didn't even know anything about me.

"I don't need any protection. Maybe he is trouble, maybe he isn't. I like him. And hopefully he likes me too. I just want the feeling of being wanted again. My dad stopped showing me affection after the person I loved the most died. I won't let him do the same thing my mother did... I won't let him... leave..."

Lucy didn't even finish her sentence, because she shut her mouth, her whole body trembling. I could hear the breathy exhales coming from her.

I bit my lip, slowly sitting down the glass. Somewhere, that hit hard. In those few sentences, she described exactly how I felt when my parents died.

I heard feet steps coming this way, and based on the sound it was one person. I took steps back and leaned against the wall, patiently waiting for the person to show his face.

As expected Loke walked out, and he didn't look the slightest surprised seeing me.

I raised my eyebrow daringly, letting him know I heard his prejudice.

Emotions are seen as a weakness in the mafia, however, some people believe that it only makes you stronger. And I belong to one of them. Trust me, having a purpose in life, wanting to protect and live for someone will make you stronger, more motivated, it will help. But at the same time, when the enemy gets to have that 'special someone' in their possession, hell will break free.

I snapped out of my thoughts when Loke opened his mouth.

"You were listening the whole time, weren't you?" Loke said through gritted teeth.

I nodded, one hand in my pocket the other hanging freely.

What I didn't expect was my butler to bluntly grab my collar and shove his face in mine. Veins were bulging in his hands as his glare intensified. It could make people shiver, not me though.

"Don't ever try to hurt Lucy, may it be phisycally, mentally or emotionally, I don't fucking care. Hurt her and we all gonna hunt you."

I slapped his hand away, a scoff escaping my lips. "I can't make that promise. I am, without a doubt, going to hurt her sometime. I can't say I believe we're going to get through this together, but damn I will surely fight for her now," I said and walked away.

If I know one thing about relationships, it's that both parties should put effort in it.

I turned my head to the side and spoke again. "Take care of her until I'm back."

I walked out, giving him no time to respond.

I went to my office in Dragneel Inc.

I went straight into the papers. I was so focused I didn't notice someone walked in. Till that someone cleared his throat.

I looked slightly up, irritated by someone disturbing me. At first hand I couldn't tell who stood in front of me, until I noticed the familiar scar across his cheek.

A mafia leader, great.

And he looked like he want to ask me something.

"What do you want?" I spoke sternly. I heard him swallow lightly. He better be scared. "I'm here to ask for help."

I clicked my tongue in annoyance. "What is it in for me?" That's the business here. Never is one going to help the rival without expecting something in return.

Though his face was calm and void of emotion, his eyes gave away the fact he desperately needed help.

"We will give you the half of our money and we will work with you, complete loyalty."

It would be a nice deal, if the mafia had a lot of money. But I know he hasn't. It was still a small mafia, still growing.

"No, thank you. I don't need your service... or your money."

This man was pathetic.

His face slowly twisted into anger. He was worth being a mafia leader, but not worth enough to snap in front of me.

"You little piece of shit! You take everything for granted and just think you can look down on us! That you have the strongest mafia doesn't mean you can!"

I still remained calm, unfazed. "I don't look down on you. I just won't help you with the problem your mafia or whatever caused."

With that he totally snapped, almost growling at me. He tried to attack me. me! Out of everyone he was ready to attack me... he has a death wish.

He stood in a attack stance, challenging me. I sighed and stood up from my comfortable chair. I went to him and he advanced in an instant.

Okay, now he wasn't even worth of being a mafia leader. His attacks were weak. I simply dodged all of the incoming punched.

"Are you going to attack or what? You scared?"

He was asking for it. I caught his fist with one hand and with the other I punched him straight in the face.

I think I heard his nose crack...

It bled and he fell on the ground. Now I am looking down on him, like literally. He is the ground, so I have to look down. You get it? Okay, I stop with the not funny jokes.

"Get out."

He was away in an instant. I had to deal with so many guys. I've been thinking about quickly finishing my work so I would be able to see Lucy sooner.

The thought of her gentle eyes when she smiled warmed me. Whatever anyone says, a smile is the best look on someone's face.

I signed the contracts for hotels I work with and all the other stuff. It was still pretty late though. 5:36 pm to be exact.

When I came home I searched for Lucy. She wasn't in her bedroom and neither in the other rooms. I literally searched the entire house, without an avail.

What the fuck? I furrowed my brows, walking to the kitchen. Where could she be?

I didn't want to scare her today. So I won't scream. I groaned, loudly. Am I stupid or did I just overlook?

Loke came from the living room and had an annoyed look plastered on his ugly face. "Are you trying to wake up Lucy?"

I gave him a scowl in return. I definitely noticed the change of my workers' behaviors. And to be honest, it felt refreshing. It felt good to know they still know their place, yet aren't afraid to defy me. "Where the hell did she go?" I scowled. Loke looked dumbfounded at me.

"In your bedroom," and with that he walked away.

Wait...

Hold up.

WHAT!

I'm so fucking stupid! I face palmed, I didn't look in my own room.

Yup, definitely losing my touch here.

I hurried upstairs and saw her sleeping. I smirked when I saw her wearing one of my hoodies with my name on it. I carefully sat down on the bed.

I placed her head on my lap and admired her features. Her mouth was slightly open, and her soft lips made me want to bite them. Damn, she looked ethereal.

The position stayed that way. I saw her stirring in her sleep, wildly. She mumbled things, her voice shaky. She suddenly felt a lot warmer as I looked at the little sweat forming on her skin.

I tried waking her up by shaking her or calling her name... it didn't work. I bent over her face, and guess what... SHE WOKE UP!

What's this for bullshittery?

Of course I know that damn word doesn't exist.

She immediately sat up, causing her forehead to be knocked against my chin. "Ow," she said rubbing her forehead.

When she looked at me she hugged me. "You're back!"

I tilted my head, looking at her comfortable posture. "Did you think I was going to leave you?" It would hurt if her answer was positive.

She looked down, so I guess that was a 'yes'.

I placed my hand on her chin and lifted it up, staring in her eyes with as much honesty as I could muster. "I won't leave your side. I promise."

Some people say promises are meant to be broken or something like that. But I am going to keep it...

"What was the nightmare about?"

She sighed, probably expecting it. "I had a dream about my father," Lucy said and I clutched her tighter, but not to the point of bruising her. "Don't worry. He is gone," I whispered tenderly. It seemed to calm her down.

I decided to take her to get ice cream. Her face just sparkled when I said that. It made my day brighten.

When we sat down on a bench we just went to talk. But I can't just simply ignore the fact that men were checking her out.

I groan slightly , making Lucy stop talking. "What's wrong, Natsu?" Lucy asked. I liked that she was worried about me. I liked her being mine.

"Nothing, just men were checking you out," I said and sighed. I looked at her, sudden hurt flashing in her eyes as she bit her lip.

"Do you blame me for them checking me out?" she asked in a cute voice. Man, she is just way too cute. But I frowned at what she said.

Why would I blame her?

I chuckled lowly, placing a hand behind her back head. I pulled her towards me and kissed her forehead. "No, I don't. Because what can I say? A lot of people would look at you, because you're damn cute," I said, "And beautiful and maybe even hot." But I only mumbled that so she couldn't hear it.

She blushed and looked away, not letting me see her face. But it looked like fate wants to repeat every single day we were going outide doing something.

So guess what, a man came to her. Smiling, but it was a wicked smile.

"You look pretty hot! Can I have your number, so maybe we could do something fun?"

I wanted to punch him so badly that he is going to hospital, but I was stopped by Lucy's face expression. And is the man blind or just plain stupid?

You can clearly see that I'm sitting next to her. Luckly she didn't even have a phone, that benefits me. Lucy politely rejected, but he didn't give up.

He just went to pick up lines.

"Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk by again?" Let me tell you this. Lucy was uninterested.

"Go ahead. I need to practise a hitting target."

I chuckled. It would be fun if she did that. I knew Lucy only trained with mannequins so what she said was quite true. Making a mental note to do that next time.

"I just Googled 'sexy' and a picture of you came up."

"You will get the same result when you search for 'not interested.'"

I snorted. She reads too much books. It's adorable though.

"I know somebody who likes you, but if I wasn't so shy I would tell you who."

Lucy sighed dramatically. "I know someone who'd like to send you to hospital right now, but if I wasn't so bored I'd tell you who."

I know I was that someone. And she was definitely right. If he was going to do two other pick up lines... I swear I'll punch him in the gut. She side glanced at me and threw me a smug smile.

Does that man even worship my presence? I swear this man has a death wish too.

"I'll do whatever it takes to please you."

"Then please me by getting out of my sight."

Since when could see make such a comebacks? I chuckled. The man looks like he was thinking for a second.

"Why don't we get drunk and make some bad decisions?"

That was a bad pick up line... I will wait for Lucy's respond and then he was going down.

"I think you're already drunk... and... you just made a big mistake."

I smirked, he truly did. I stood up and threw my empty tray away and punched him in an instant. Luckily not a lot of people were out.

The man fell on the ground and looked shocked. Then a tick mark appeared on his forehead. He stood up and wiped the little stones away.

Lucy stood up too and grabbed my arm. "I wanna go homee~ let him be" she whined. I saw in my eye corners that the man was shocked.

Probably didn't think that she already has someone. "But I really want to send him to hospital." This time I whined.

"No." She said sternly.

"But—"

"I said 'no' mister," Lucy said again. I groaned and began to walk away, leaving the man dumbfounded. I don't like people ordering me, but I'd gladly follow Lucy just because her mother's anniversary is today. Wouldn't want her to get upset.

I can't believe she stopped me. She must be really special then...

Duhh, of course she is special.

She is—

"Yo, Flame Brain!"

Lucy and I stopped and looked at our left. My whole crew was there, smirking. "How was the date?" And the person wiggled its eyebrows.

Guess who said that...

Lucy became red and I chuckled at her face. We went home and my crew decided to stay over.

When I came home smiling I saw Lisanna crying. Happy tears. She ran to Mira and hugged her tightly.

"Mira-nee." Then I looked around and saw Elfman already inside.

This is going to be a long night.
