Chapter 1
With the village restored, everything should've been fixed, right?
As Issun was talking about his experience being in Sakuya's kimono, a thought came across both Issun and Amaterasu.
Were the villagers alright?
As Amaterasu went into the village, all she could see was statue after statue after statue.
Everyone was a statue.
Not to mention, to make matters worse, a loud roar could be heard throughout the village.
A roar that could shake the village.
The only thing that Issun could think of that might fully restore the village was to check the sky.
However, as Amaeterasu got to the highest point she could of the village.
The only thing they could see was a moonless pitch black sky.
It seemed that Sakuya wasn't able to protect the village from this curse though.
However, there was something that Amaterasu could do.
As Amaterasu drew a sun in the sky, the whole village suddenly sparked in life.
Issue suggested that with the sun shining now, the villagers should be fine, but before they could check the village, a elderly man walked up to them.
He wore a blue robe and on his head was an orange.
This elderly man was none other than Mr.Orange, the village elder.
The village elder was quite surprised himself to see that a white wolf was in the village, in fact, it was rather strange to him as well.
He thought this white wolf before him was Shiranui, but no matter how hard he looked, he just couldn't see Amaterasu's divine markings and only thought of her as just a white wolf.
However, as Amaterasu took a defensive stance, Mr.Orange was quite surprised to say the least.
However, it seems she wasn't mad at the village elder, but rather she was in a defensive stance because the village was being attacked.
3 monsters clothed in green jumped down from the perch they were on, wearing masks with the symbol イ.
As the monster's attacked Amaterasu with their flutes, even taunting her as well, the first thing she could think of was grabbing Mr.Orange and using him to knock them back before throwing him off the ledge into a shallow pond so he wouldn't be harmed.
Amaterasu was able to take down these green imps with no problem, but even so, taking them down only worries her, it makes her think that there might be something far more greater going on around here than she thinks.
With the pokes restored however from the green imps being defeated.
Amaterasu was awarded with praise, the praise of the people.
With the village restored, Amaterasu looked through the village and explored it as well, helping others with any problems that they may have.
Due to this, many people praised the white wolf for helping them, however, it saddened Amaterasu that they could not see her divine markings.
While helping everyone in the village, she suddenly discovers a merchant complaining of his body feeling like lead.
He didn't see it, but Amaterasu did.
Some demons were hanging around the man, making him feel the way he was.
There was a new demon as well that was helping the green imps.
The demon it self was a red imp, with its masking having the katakana ロ (Ro).
With a rock blocking the way out of the village, the merchant thought he might knew someone who could.
The man who claims to be the legendary descendant of Nagi himself, Susano.
Upon entering his house, it seemed hard to believe that he was actually a warrior considering how much he sleeps, not to mention, he seemed to also want to do some 'special' things to one of the village's maiden's.
As Amaterasu woke up, he only blew off Amaterasu and simply attempted to go back to sleep, but Amaterasu and Issun we're persistent.
So persistent that Amaterasu bit into Susano's clothing and threw him onto her back as he brought him to the rock.
Susano was infuriated and even challenged to fight Amaterasu with the wooden sword he trains with, tohenboku (とへんぼく)
The merchant requested to cut the stone in half, but Susano was quite surprised and suggested he needs to warm up first before he can.
It was then that he quickly ran off to his house to train to cut down the rock.
Before Amaterasu went to check on Susano, she went to see Kushi who seemed rather happy that she was able to make sake again.
Amaterasu mended the mill that Kushi uses to make her sake using the divine brush, Kushi didn't know that of course, she thought it was a blessing from the gods.
Due to that, she offered Amaterasu some sake she made as a present.
With the sake, Amaterasu went to check on Susano who seemed to be doing anything but training, instead, he seemed to be whining about how he couldn't cut down the boulder even if he tried.
During his monologuing, he soon realized that he ran out sake and only seemed to feel worse, however, with one quick sniff, he got to his feet the moment he smelled Kushi's famous home brewed sake.
Due to this, Amaterasu let Susano have the sake, to be perfectly exact, he was rather surprised, but thanked Amaterasu either way.
"A man without his drink is like a warrior with his trusty sword, in fact, it is said that Nagi himself relied on the power of sake in his battle with the dreaded Orochi."
Amaterasu tried her best to listen to all of what Susano has to say, but the moment Susano said he was ready to begin his training, Amaterasu decided to help him in a way he wouldn't notice, by using her celestial brush to help Susano.
As Susano seamlessly managed to cut down an iron rock, he thought for a moment that was his own strength and thought that if he could cut down an iron rock, a boulder would surely be no match for his trusty sword.
However, Amaterasu knew that this would've ended in a disaster and chased after Susano to use power slash to cut down the boulder to make it seem as if Susano cut it down.
"Wow, I didn't think ya could do it pops!"
Issun tried to encourage Susano, to make him think that he cut down the boulder all by himself.
"Me either, err...I mean, of course I could, after all, I'm Susano, the greatest warrior ever!"
The merchant praised Susano and thought Susano could take down any monster with no problem, however, just the thought of monsters scared Susano, even so, with words of encouragement, he managed to hype himself up as he ran out the village, laughing to himself.
Amaterasu and Issun seemed rather worried but before they could go after him, Sakuya appeared behind them.
However, due to Sakuya not having much of her power, it saddened her that she couldn't give Amaterasu some kind of present.
Sakuya's power has drained so much that can't even make a flower bloom, even if her body stands firmly and proudly within the village, her roots protecting the remote areas outside of the village have withered, the evil is eroding the saplings as well, and with no praise, Sakuya may eventually wilt away at this rate.
Amaterasu fell asleep during the conversation, but at least she's listening some at least.
With Sakuya's request now, Amaterasu takes it upon herself to restore Sakuya's roots so that she won't wither away.
One of the guardian saplings that needed to be rejuvenated was the one in しんしう (Shinshu) field.
Shinshu field is known to be the most beautiful field in Nippon, however a cursed zone now resides over the once beautiful field.
Not to mention, Amaterasu doesn't have the bloom technique just yet, so even if she wanted to, she couldn't restore Shinshu field to its natural beauty.
Even so, she pressed onward into はな (Hana) Valley, in hopes to find some way to bloom the Guardian sapling in Shinshu field.
However, it didn't take long though until she encountered some red imps and green imps who seemed to be having a celebration.
When she defeated them though, the curse on the area seemed to be stronger than the god's power, so the place still remained cursed.
Amaterasu continued on throughout Hana valley, she was attacked by Cursed trees as well on the way up, but she eventually encountered a painting, it had a strange marking on it though but it depicted some kind of picture with some kind of meaning behind it.
Before she could get a closer look, she was attacked by two green imps, playing their flutes, however a new monster appeared, it was most likely something the green imps summoned since they were playing their flutes.
Something rose up from the ground and as it came up out of the ground, it seemed to be a yellow imp with a big drum, on its mask was the katakana ハ (Ha).
It didn't take much effort for Amaterasu to defeat them though, however, upon defeating them, the strange markings on the painting went away and the battling caught Susano's attention, but that was already after Amaterasu defeated the monsters.
Infuriated to see Amaterasu in Hana valley, he tried to shoo her away, which sorta worked, but it only made her investigate the painting.
When she noticed something was missing, she drew in it in, which was the sun, upon doing so, however, it caused the rock that was blocking the path forward to be destroyed.
The once beautiful water of Hana valley only looked like sludge.
To see such a sight brought sadness to Amaterasu, but she knew that if she could find the bloom brush technique, the sludge like water would be become beautiful once again.
After more searching, Amaterasu finally found Susano who seemed rather infuriated that a sleeping bear was in his training place.
"Enough talk, my blade thirsts for blood, here goes nothing, Susano style Susano!"
With each slice, Susano said the letters in his name.
"す...さ...の...すさの!"(Su...sa...no...Susano)
With the final slash, the bear woke up for a few seconds before falling down onto the ground and going back to sleep.
Susano thought he'd actually had killed the bear, but to Amaterasu and Issun, it was obvious that a wooden blade wasn't gonna kill a bear, in fact the bear is only sleeping.
Well, with the bear no longer on the mysterious sphere and Susano being gone since he suddenly ran out laughing to himself, Amaterasu decided to push the mysterious sphere back to the room with the small sapling.
The sphere seemed to actually be something from the wall painting, which meant that if Amaterasu drew the sun, the sapling should grow, and when she drew the sun, it did indeed grow.
With that, a constellation appeared and Amaterasu drew in the missing stars to summon the next brush god.
"Ah...Amaterasu, origin of all that is good and mother to us all, my gratitude for releasing my body from its slumber, please accept my humble thanks in return for your great kindness, I'm Sakigami (さきがみ) one of the Flora gods known as the Hanagami (はながみ), with my bloom technique, you'll be able to restore the beauty to the land with beautiful flora."
With that, Amaterasu gained the bloom technique.
To try it out she drew a circle around the big guardian sapling in Hana Valley.
By doing so Hana valley regained its beauty, as flower petals float down from the sky.
It was a beautiful sight to behold.
