Athena, or preferably Harlow, is a quiet girl, making her excellent at her job. She's incredibly hard to befriend because she generally keeps conversation to a minimum. She's the kind to heavily trust her instinct, and it's rarely ever wrong. Harlow is incredibly good at blending in and disguises. Because of what she does, lying about who she is comes easy to her and it's probably the most difficult thing in the world to find out whether or not she's lying about something. Whenever she meets someone under a false identity, ninty-nine percent of the time, they can't tell she's faking it.

But she isn't just about faking, lying, and quietness. Harlow is a person, too, even if her job doesn't make it seem that way. Now, she's never a bubbly, happy person, but it isn't impossible to make her smile. It may be proven difficult, but if she likes someone enough, they can make her smile. The few people that actually know her know that she's witty, but rarely ever sarcastic. If she really likes someone, she can be a big time flirt, but that has only ever happened once. She has morals despite what her job is and she sticks to them at all costs. When you get to know her, she can be extremely loyal, focused and self-confident.

✘flowers. kind of a funny step up with the fact that she's an assassin. she loves flowers, though, and mainly because she loves gardening.

✘ gardening. growing up, athena had always loved gardening. she used to garden with her father when he wasn't obsessing over fighting tactics. however, now that she was grown up, she did it on her own as a hobby. looking at her house, it probably stands out ten times more than any other house on the street because the garden is that nice.

✘ photography. for her, it started out as her taking pictures of her gardens. later on, she began to take pictures of almost everything. of course, she doesn't bring her camera when she's on a job, but, any other time, you'll probably find her with a camera around her neck. when people ask her what her job is, she usually lies and claims she's a photographer.

✘ crystals. she doesn't like jewelry that much, but if it were a gem or a crystal, she's far more likely to be wearing it.

✘ knives. she can use any weapon, but knives are by far her favourite because of how much easier they are to hide on her body.

✘ disguises. part of her job is being able to disguise herself, and she does one hell of a job at it. even if you knew her, if she didn't want you to recognise her, she could succeed.

✘ money. well, she does do her job for money, and a portion of her is a bit greedy. though, bit might be the understatement of the year.

✘ cities.

✘ crowds. crowds might make blending in easier, but harlow has always felt more closed in when it came to being around crowds. she feels better if she is able to move around more, and crowds make that difficult.

✘ berries.

✘ guns. simply because she's good with any gun, doesn't mean she likes using them. she feels far better off with a knife in her hand as opposed to a gun.

✘ not being focused. she's a strict believer in emotions clouding your judgement. because of her having such a big heart, it's even worse for her and what she does. it's also incredibly hard to do her job if she isn't focused.

✘gambling. she can't turn down a bet whatsoever. she has been doing her best to stop, though, because she much rather be loyal to others than be led to steal from them for debt money.

✘her heart. having a big heart in her line of work has always held her back. she has morals when it comes to who she will harm and who she won't. she refuses to take an only parent away from their children, or to kill a child.

[ backstory ]

Athena, of course, didn't grow up being an assassin, though she did learn fairly early. At the age of ten, her mother died and her father began working for a woman whom Athena doesn't know the name of to date. When she was twelve, her father pulled her out of regular school and began to teach her fighting tactics. Thena had willingly picked up all of the tactics, and, by the age of seventeen, she was accepting jobs herself. Gardening might have been a hobby of hers, but, sadly, she was more talented with a weapon before anything else. As she became better and better with weapons, she began to go by 'Harlow' instead of Athena, that way, with her job, it would be harder to track her.

When Harlow turned sixteen, she got into gambling because of the amount of money her dad would give her for assisting on jobs. At one point, she'd had to steal from her twin sister, who was still living with her at this point. She was ashamed for it, of course, because her sister had been saving up money to go to university. After her sister found out, she separated herself from the family and never spoke to Harlow or her father again.
