One Week Later

I'm laying down in my shared bed with Kaoru, listening to the birds chirping outside alone. I smile a little, and it only grows as I stand to go and say hello to my friends who had joined me on the move.

All of my animal friends did: The mice, HN, Biscuit, and Bonnie. The whole motley crew.

Kaoru knew how much they meant to me as soon as we went back to my old home to gather my things, and had informed me that they will be coming too. I had thanked him immensely, elated at the news.

His parents were shocked by him wanting to marry another boy, but had accepted it. They had accepted me and who I am with open arms, just how Kaoru did.

I kneel down in the garden, my friends crowding around me as I gently play with the engagement ring on my finger. It's a beautiful silver, twisting at the actual ring part with sparkling gems around the perimeter.

I laugh as I'm tackled by Biscuit, who proceeds to lick my face. I gently shove him off of me, wiping away the slobber with one arm while the other pets him.

Behind me, I hear a slightly deep chuckle, which the sound makes my heart beat faster. I glance in that direction and smile at my fiancé as he steps closer, sitting down on my right. Bonnie rubs up against him as the mice settle in front of us. Kaoru pets the cat and grabs my free hand in his.

"How are you this morning?" he asks me, then adds sweetly, "How'd you sleep?"

I laugh a little and reply, "I'm great, and I slept well. How about you?"

"Same here. I have a surprise for you," Kaoru tells me with a grin.

I raise a playfully curious eyebrow, "Oh really, now? Care to tell me what it is?"

"Absolutely," we chuckle in unison and he continues, "I know how you're quite uncomfortable with yourself because of, you know, so I decided to help you with that. Before you ask questions, let me explain. I also know you want top surgery and to be on T, and that's exactly what I set up for you."

"You set up appointments for me to start the process of transitioning further?" I inquire, tearing up happily with a huge smile.

He nods with a similar look on his face, taking my reaction as a good sign. I immediately pull him into a tight hug, laughing in excitement. He chuckles and hugs me back, us rocking back and forth on the ground slowly as I thank him profusely.

Timeskip- Wedding Day

I breathe in and out nervously, fiddling with my tux jacket. I stare at myself in the mirror, my heart racing at a million miles a minute.

I'm then led to the doors, Kaoru wanting me to be walked down the aisle since he wants me to be the center of attention. I had laughed at that when he told me, but didn't complain.

Though as the doors open and I start walking towards the altar to my soon-to-be husband, all eyes on me has me anxious.

Though when Kaoru smiles at me and his eyes stare lovingly into mine along the way, all of my fears wash away from my being. I stop in front of him and we join hands, grinning like idiots.

We go through the whole process, and it all feels like a blur until he places our lips on mine after the, "You may now kiss the groom."

The crowd claps and cheers, his parents being the loudest, as well as my boss who had actually become one of my best friends. He had also been the one to walk me down the aisle today, a tear falling down his wrinkly cheek as he smiles merrily at us.

The cheering fades away to the back of my mind during the kiss itself, just focusing on Kaoru and how amazing it feels.

When we part, I find myself wanting it to last longer, but hold myself back as we go to celebrate. We cut the cake together and have our first dance, all of that jazz.

Needless to say that as I stare deeply into my husbands eyes during our first slow dance as a married couple, I know that our love will last forever.
