Everything has to be perfect.
I can't mess this up, or it'll ruin the occasion—and I can't have that on my business record.
Especially since this rating would be coming from one of my dearest friends who's truly counting on me to make this evening a very special one.
A night to remember for years and years to come.
I suppose that's what it's like when you're running a planning business at seventeen, though.
Stressful.
That is what I signed up for, after all.
See, this dear friend of mine is getting married, and she was the one who would watch over Tamaki—my twin—and me when we were younger. Hence why her requesting that I plan this event for her is so important to me.
She has always been there for us, for me, when we needed it most.
Now I want to return the favor in the form of a celebration, though it could never amount to how much gratitude and admiration I have for this lady.
However, that's not the only reason I want this event to be perfect.
This would also be a fantastic opportunity for my business since she and her soon-to-be husband are willing to pay me handsomely for my efforts.
Of course, I agreed to the terms.
I would have done it for less, but they had insisted on giving me more due to how much they want done and how it would benefit me enormously.
Anyway, I got this job around a week ago and I've been putting my all into every last detail. Including my heart and possibly even selling my soul to the devil for help.
Just kidding, but I digress.
I've been spending the majority of my time on arranging the wedding to my clients' desires and less on relaxation and schoolwork.
I'll admit, I've just barely been scraping by with submitting half-assed assignments at the last minute, but hey, I never failed them, so whatever.
I've also been visiting my brother's club less and less, still too preoccupied with my job.
It's pretty obvious that they're growing a bit concerned for me, but whenever they ask, I just tell them that I'm doing well and that I've just been busy with this party.
Little did I know, though, that Tamaki would concoct a plan of his own.
That's how I ended up in the position I am in right at this very moment.
Being abducted by my friends whilst being on my way to my banquet appointment from my flower assortment appointment.
Needless to say, I'm quite pissed.
"What the hell, guys?!" I proclaim in irritation, struggling against Honey and Mori's grips as they escort me to a limousine. "You know I have another appointment to get to! Let go of me!"
"Sorry, YN-Chan," Honey apologizes as the rest of the club are already gathered in the vehicle. "This is for your own good, we promise!"
"'My own good,' my ass!" I retort, practically seething as the pair continues to hold me down as we drive to someone's villa.
Honestly, I'm far too upset to even comprehend who's villa it is.
Eventually, Tamaki has me sat down in a living room while Mori and Honey continue to keep me in place, as I'm still fighting against them.
"Let go of me, you pricks!" I darkly hiss, ripping my arms away from them. "It's not like I can go anywhere now. I'm already late to that appointment, thanks to you guys."
Despite allowing me to take my arms back, the both of them decide to settle their hands on either one of my shoulders, Honey standing on the couch beside me. This only proved to aggravate me even further, but I stay put, icily glaring at each one of them instead.
"Little sister, we apologize for the inconvenience, but it is important that we speak with you about something," Tamaki calmly tells me, surprisingly serious.
Relaxing a bit at his tone and expression, I slowly respond with only a tinge of annoyance, "I'm listening."
"You've been working so hard lately," he begins, dramatically pacing before me. "It's starting to worry us!"
"We think it would be best if you paced yourself more," Haruhi mentions, clasping her hands before her as Tamaki comes to a halt.
Kyoya then pitches in, nudging up his glasses, "With how vigorously you've been working, if that keeps up, it could potentially be detrimental to your health."
"Why have you been pushing yourself so much, anyways?" the Hitachiin twins inquire in unison, linking arms.
"Well-..." I trail off before releasing a small sigh. "This wedding has to be perfect. Sure, for business purposes, but mainly because it's the wedding of someone who was like a stand-in for the mother Tamaki and I've never had. She's special and deserves to have the best night of her life, and she's trusting me to do that for her... I just don't want to let her down. And I won't."
I scoff at my emotional behavior, looking down to my lap so the tears that had built up in my eyes won't show.
Tamaki kneels before me and gently cups my hands, the rest of the club gathering around to console me and my brother, who also had gotten a bit saddened by my statements.
I regain my composure and lift my head once more, almost entirely back to my usual self.
My twin quietly pleads with a small sniffle, "Just take a few days off, YN. Please."
After a second of hesitation, I reply in a similar voice, "Yeah, okay... I'm going back to my schedule after that, though."
"Allow us to assist you," Kyoya insists, delicately rubbing my upper arm.
Ignoring the butterflies in my stomach from his actions, I let out a tiny smile and nod.
So, with the help of the Host Club, and even the Ootori's Black Onion Squad, the rest of the planning went by without any more issues.
Not to mention that I wasn't as overwhelmed as I had been before, either.
Come the day of the reception, the Bell and "Beast" of the ball compliment and thank me at least a minimum of a million times for my work, and I can't help but to grin like an idiot.
"Well, I didn't exactly do it alone," I admit, briefly glancing at my brother and friends before meeting the bride's eyes as she steps closer to pull me into a tight hug.
"Doesn't matter," she lightheartedly dismisses, and I can feel her smile against my shoulder. "We still appreciate it more than you'll ever know. Thank you so much, YN."
Oh, I think I have an idea on how much she appreciates it, if it's anything like how I feel.
I gently squeeze her as I respond with a delighted sigh, "It's my pleasure."
When we part, it's time for the pair to share their first dance together, and after the bride shoots me an excited smile, she lets her groom lead her by the hand onto the dance floor.
Don't cry at the beautiful scene, YN, don't you dare fucking cry and ruin the makeup that took you literally forever to put on!
I watch them travel across the floor with such grace and precision that it's unable to not be in awe, especially as the bride's dress sways with her so elegantly.
That's when I start to reminisce on the past when she used to basically babysit Tamaki and me, and a giggle forces it's way out of my throat at the memories.
One time, Tamaki had playfully thrown a rubber ball at her, but she managed to catch it, and with a jokingly evil smirk, she warned, "Runn!" They began having a miniature war that I somehow got in on, and it was super fun.
Another time was when she would watch these movies with us, making hilarious, snarky comments at the characters on the screen. This would always prove to make us laugh.
She also would do my hair sometimes, as she claimed that it was so beautiful and silky smooth that she just wanted to play with it.
Those are only a few of the moments we've shared, but they all were great ones.
I was so lost in my mind that I hadn't realized that more people were on the dance floor now until someone stopped in front of me.
I blink before meeting their eyes, only to feel my cheeks burn upon recognizing the man as Kyoya, who currently is offering me his hand with a formal smile. "May I have this dance, M'Lady?"
With a short laugh, I take his hand and answer courteously, "Oh, but of course, my good sir!"
He chuckles a little and once we're mixed in with the crowd, he shifts to place his hands on my waist as mine reach up to loosely wrap around his neck.
As we rock back and forth, spinning in slow circles, I notice our friends giving us knowing looks as they enthusiastically chatter amongst themselves, presumably about us, but I pretend like I didn't see them as I rest my forehead on Kyoya's chest.
He sets his chin atop my head, the space between us being next to none as we just lose ourselves in the music, no words falling out of either of our mouths.
We end up staying like this for a few more songs, but we actually moved to where we could see one another's faces as we faintly conversed.
This is a side to Kyoya that I rarely ever get to indulge in, and if I'm being absolutely real here, it's really nice.
He's revealing his soft side to me once again, and I'm cherishing every minute of it.
After awhile, he asks if I'd like to step outside with him, and I oblige.
As soon as we're out of the venue, I breathe in the cool night air, serene.
"We did it," I murmur with a smile, peering up at the starry night sky above us.
"We did it," Kyoya repeats with a nod, and when I look over at him, I'm mildly startled to discover that he was already staring at me.
With a flustered huff of a chuckle, I glance off to the side before he takes my palm in his, having me face him as he grabs my other one, too. He cooly confesses, "I love you, YN."
I swiftly get over my surprise as I sweetly smile back at him, "Forward, are we? Heh, I love you too, Kyoya."
We then begin to lean in, the world seemingly going in slow motion as our lips nearly collide—
When all of a sudden, the romantic moment is destroyed when my brother comes barging out, causing the mysterious male and I to pull apart.
Tamaki wraps me in a hug and spins me around with an excited shriek, resulting in me to both wince and laugh at the same time. He cheers, "Yes! You both are gonna be so great together! I'm so happy for you two!"
He sets me down and I stumble a little from the dizziness, Kyoya steadying me with a light chuckle.
Tamaki then looks at Kyoya and points at him, "You better not her her, though, Kyoya! I'll be watching you!"
"I wouldn't doubt it," Kyoya smoothly replies as the rest of the club steps outside with us.
"Wait, when did you all get here?" I question, tilting my head.
"We were eavesdropping!" the twins inform me, only to be harshly elbowed by Haruhi. "Owww, Haruhiiii!"
Leaning against Kyoya, I shake my head in amusement, observing as they all bicker while my new boyfriend hugs me from behind.
Those dorks are gonna be the death of me, I swear.
