November 2018 - Mine or Yours?
-Elizabeth-
After doing homework, I needed an afternoon snack, and even though eating cereal at 4:00 was strange, I just had an addiction. I poured some Cheerios and milk into a medium-sized bowl, grabbed a spoon from the drawer next to the stove, and ate with delight. The flavor melted inside my mouth mixed with the milk, causing it to go smoothly into my body.
Before I went in with another spoonful, I heard flapping noises coming from behind me, and Bluey landed on the rim of the bowl!
What if he drinks it? It already had my saliva in it! Can budgies even drink milk?
I rapidly threw the spoon in the sink and grabbed my phone that was charging. I couldn't lose a budgie I just got! I searched it up to make sure it was safe, and it said that although they're considered lactose intolerant, a tiny bit of milk wouldn't hurt. Human saliva was lethal to budgies though, and my eyes widened.
"Bluey! No, please stop," I cried.
I put my phone back down and walked over to Bluey, who was already drinking it and flew away.
Okay, maybe he's just thirsty, but there's water in his cage!
I concluded that he wanted me, his main owner, to give him his delicious water; I took his water out, put my hand under his chest for him to step up, and let him drink the water with me holding it. Overall, he seemed healthy regardless of drinking what I drank. Thank goodness.
He only took a sip of his water and went on my shoulder while staring at my mouth. I was still chewing on the cereal, which was probably what alerted him.
Yeah, he definitely wants human food and drinks or maybe he wants to be a human...

I was in love with Elizabeth's typing sounds because the soothing noises were so satisfying, and she rarely used the "delete" key. However, she rudely pushed her chair back and walked into the kitchen! How dare she?
Why would she leave me? I'm such a cute bird! Am I invisible to her?

I learned that biting is wrong, but trying her drink is different and something I haven't done yet. I just had to go see what she found more interesting than me, so I used my wings of strength and determination to fly onto her bowl.
I saw some interesting-looking strange tan-colored circular objects floating in a sweet-smelling white pool, perfect for a spa. I was more of an air animal than a water-lover but hey. Just trying some of it wouldn't do any harm, right?
I dug my beak into it, causing some discomfort due to the substance that made its way into my nostrils. Regardless, it was way too sweet for my liking.
Do humans drink this stuff? Goodbye.
She then handed me my bowl of water, which was way fresher, cleaner, and bird-friendly. Whatever the white liquid was was like poison; drinking something that wasn't put in front of me by her wasn't healthy and beneficial to me.
The two things I'd never understand were humans and their taste buds.
A/N (please read):
This situation scared me...For those who own pets (don't have to be birds in particular), do they want to try out your foods/drinks and how do you guys deal with them?
