Ch 31 The War

__________________________________________________________________________

CHAPTER 31

Christina's POV

"Cole, don't do this." I ordered, backing away from him.

He sighed and looked up at me, "I'm sorry Christina."

15 minutes later- full of screaming, struggling, and a few tears....

Cole cast me one last sorrowful glance as he shut the door, leaving me alone in our room. Although I knew it was useless, I let out a frustrated scream and pulled my arm with all my strength.

He handcuffed me to the bed.

I know right!

I mean honestly, I get it. He wants to protect me and shit, but I am the freaking ALPHA FEMALE. Doesn't that mean anything?!

After wasting a couple more minutes pulling at the handcuff, I collapsed back onto the bed, mumbling curse words under my breath.

Then came the prayers.

I kneeled as best I could and began praying for everyone. The worry and fear that filled me made me sick. If anything were to happen to someone... To Cole....

Don't think like that, Christina! I scolded myself as I began folding and unfolding my hands. The nerves were really getting to me. If only there was someone here to tell me what's going on.

After Ian told us that they were coming, Cole decided that instead of attacking them head on, we would wait. That way they would have less energy when they attacked. Although Cole decided to keep me locked away, I was able to hear most of the planning and positioning. Graham took most of his pack to either sides of the path Damon would be using to attack. First, the Shadow pack would wait for them by the gate, where Graham's pack will move in, surrounding the rogues.

Just thinking about it made my heart pound. It wasn't helping that it was completely silent outside.

And the silence was deafening.

Maybe I could just sleep through it.....

Wow Christina. And the award for Friend/Mate of the Year goes to.... Christina Fellows! The girl who slept through the deaths of her friends.

I flinched at the thought. Losing my friends.... Christina! Stop thinking about it!

Great. I'm talking to myself.

30 minutes later

Nothing.

Absolute silence.

1 hour later

Okay... this is a little creepy. Literally everything is silent. For all I know, everyone could be dead, silently killed by some other supernatural animal.

I snuggled under the cover and took a couple deep breaths. Everything is going to be okay. Just calm down and maybe try to fall asleep- it's not like you can go anywhere, I thought to myself as I pulled at the chain helplessly.

Just as I was slowly closing my eyes, a howl tore through the silence of the night. I held my breath and waited- silence. Maybe it was just a-

Ferocious growls and howls filled the night.

The war had just begun.

_______________________________________________________________________

Author's note:

So I was thinking about just ending it there, but after thinking it over, I realized you guys deserve so much for sticking with me even when I didn't upload in nearly a month. So... ENJOY! :)

________________________________________________________________________

Everything was so loud, it was like I was standing in the middle of the fight. I could hear the sounds of the thumping paws as wolves ran around, I could hear and envision the claws tearing through the wolves flesh.

My heart was pounding rapidly and I was having trouble breathing. This is the worst position to be in, I thought to myself. It was almost as if I had a front row seat for the war, yet all I could do is listen. No matter how hard I pulled, the chain held, forcing me to have no choice but to stay attached to the bed.

I began praying again.

What's left for me to do?

1 hour later

I sat there numbly on the bed. The sounds of growls and howls filled my head, claws tearing through flesh, lifeless bodies falling to the ground.

And here I was- safe and sound.

Yet more than anything, I wanted to be out there. But what's the point? I couldn't do anything even if I wanted to.

1 hour later

My eyes were slowly closing.

I know, how bad of a friend am I? How can someone in a time like this, fall asleep? To be honest, I gave up. I had spent hours trying to break free, ever since Cole locked me away.

Just as my eyes were nearly close, a familiar howl roared out.

Cole.

My eyes flew open and my heart began racing.

Not Cole. Please, please don't let it be Cole! I prayed to myself.

Then I heard it again, followed by whimpering.

Truthfully, I don't really know what happened with me next. I guess you could say something snapped, because the next thing I know, all I can see is red.

I yanked my arm away from the bed, and in that swift motion, I was able to break the handcuff. Without a second thought, I charged down the hallway, down the stairs, and didn't even hesitate to sprint out the door.

The only thing on my mind was Cole.

My Cole.

Once I reached the porch, that's when I froze. That's when reality hit me. Dead wolves lay scattered around the yard, some were half human, like they were killed while shifting.

Frantically I looked around.

There.

A giant white wolf was surrounded, fighting for his life.

Cole.

Without thinking, I ran to him.

______________________________________________________________________

You know how life's full of surprises?

Well it seems mine is overflowing with them. For instance, one second I am sprinting towards Cole on two feet, then the next, I am on four legs.

Hmmm.... life- want to explain that?

Any newbie wolf would probably stop and be like "what the fuck." But no, this Alpha Female was on a mission. I tackled down the first wolf in front of my, who was ready to lunge at Cole. Mind you, I have no idea what I was doing, so I copied what I had seen other wolves do.

Rip out his throat.

The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth, but I quickly regrouped and stood by Cole, snarling at the other rouges.

Ignoring Cole's wolfishly bewildered expression, I leapt over him and attacked the on coming wolf.

I continued my attack until I was suddenly tackled from behind. Before I could react, the wolf bit down on shoulder, refusing to let go. I let out a scream of terror, which ended up to be a howl or pain.

Within seconds, the wolf was pulled off of me, leaving me broken on the ground with large amounts of blood pouring from the wound.

Cole leered above me, almost as if he was inspecting me.

Damn idiot doesn't know it's me.

I quickly stood up, lifting up my left paw to help ease the added pain in my shoulder. Then I noticed Cole's wolf. There was dried blood all over him, but no open wounds. I looked back curiously at my wound, only to be shocked that it was completely healed.

Whoa.

That's awesome.

'Focus Christina!'

Wait.

Who was that?

'Hun, it's your wolf. Now listen to me, if you want to survive, you need to keep on fighting and stay focused. Your size gives you the advantage of speed, but the others are bigger than you, which makes them stronger.'

With that I began scanning around. Well this is hopeless, I thought to myself. I don't know who's on my side and who's not.

'Smell around. Scents are key when it comes to finding out who's a rogue or not.'

I began sniffing around. After only a couple minutes, I smelled it. It was this stench, reeking off this one wolf, getting ready to attack a small black wolf from behind.

Hey... that black wolf reminds me of Julia...

Julia!

I launched my body at the brown rogue, taking it down quickly. We rolled around for a bit, and I dodged it's snapping teeth multiple times, when finally, I had the perfect shot. I swiped at its face, tearing from the ear to the snout, and then I bit it's neck, holding it down till it suffocated.

I backed away, sickeningly satisfied by my latest kill. Take that Cole! I'm not that weak, vulnerable girl anymore.

'Christina, focus.' My wolf warned.

Right as I was about to turned around, a wolf grabbed me by my neck, and began dragging me off towards the house. Fear filled me as I began uselessly struggling in attempt to break free. The wolf carried my inside and dropped me in the living room, where I was finally able to see who my captor was.

Cole.

Oh... um.. well this can't be good...

He shifted within a minute and glared down at me.

"Shift. Now."

I looked around hopelessly, not knowing how to.

"Think of your human self." He ordered, as if reading my mind.

I thought long and hard, and right as I was about to give up, I felt my bones begin cracking back into place, and soon I was standing on two feet.

Completely naked.

Instantly I blushed, and began covering myself up with my hands, which only seemed to make Cole angrier.

"Upstairs now. I don't want to see you till it's over." He demanded, turning and shifting back mid-step.

Although I wanted to go back, I obeyed his command. It was almost like I had to... Weird. I guess that's what the Alpha command feels like.

Once inside the room, I changed into a t-shirt and shorts.

My heart was still racing and I felt sore everywhere, and I paced with one question on my mind.

How am I a werewolf?

_____________________________________________________________________

Cole's POV

I know.

Harsh.

It's just, I was so shocked when this foreign wolf showed up, kicking ass if I may say, but when I realized it was Christina, the over protective side of me came out. I didn't want her fighting.

She's my baby girl.

Letting her fight for the first time at a time like this- I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something were to happen to her.

Breaking away from my thoughts, I lunged at a nearby rogue, killing him within a matter of seconds.

I glanced back at the house, praying that Christina had listened to me.

_______________________________________________________________________

Damon's POV

I watched as from behind the trees with thirty of my rogues, and Jeremy. Oh Alpha Cole, so stupid. Did he honestly think I was just going to go all in? Hell no. My first attack consisted of seventy rogues. Those idiots were so excited to be the ones first to die. I mean, taking on the Shadow Pack? It's impossible, and even then, Alpha Cole had the help of two other packs.

"Listen up men, soon enough, they will kill off our last man. We must wait till they shift back to get rid of the bodies, and then, that's when we attack." I announced, looking around at each man before me, looking for the approval.

I smirked as each man before me nodded his head. With that, I turned to only Jeremy.

"Will the turning still be possible? She's a werewolf." I stated, anger rising within myself.

I had to turn Christina; it was they only way Cole would live an eternal life of suffering.

"It is... but sir," Jeremy started.

"No. I don't give a fuck. She must be turned." I growled threateningly.

Jeremy lowered his head and nodded.

"Good."

I turned back to watch the scene in front of me, smiling.

Alpha Cole, you better say goodbye to your little mate.

________________________________________________________________________

Christina's POV

I had been sitting on the bed for quite a while now. Fear that I had upset Cole filled me. But you know what? I had helped him! It's not like I had done anything wrong. I stood up and began pacing anxiously.

Why did he look so mad?

Ugh, I collapsed back on the bed, my head in my hands.

Then I noticed it.

Silence.

For the first time in around five hours, there was complete silence. I saw that it was getting light outside, so I ran to the window, looking out of it. Dead wolves lay scattered everywhere, while others were walking around, sniffing the dead bodies. No one was fighting.

I watched on curiously as the largest wolf there, Cole, leaned back and let out a howl. Soon all the wolves joined in, letting out the same howl.

Instantly I knew what it meant.

We had won.

__________________________________________________________________________

Cole's POV

After announcing our victory, I shifted back, followed by the rest of the packs. You may be wondering why we were all clothed, well that's because your clothes only rip on the first shift, which was very convenient for us.

I began surveying the pack, a couple people were injured, but with the werewolf healing powers, they would be fine.

"NO!"

I turned to see Emma leaning over a dead wolf. She was sobbing and shaking her head while stroking the fur.

"Emma...?" I whispered, making my way towards her.

Then I froze.

No... please no....

"Tucker!" She wailed throwing her shaking body onto the wolf, refusing to let go.

My blood ran cold.

Tucker was dead.

I turned back to the rest of the pack.

"Who else?" I asked, my voice barely audible.

Then I saw all the bodies of wolves, wolves I knew. I watched as Ian stepped out to comfort Emma, as Mandy watched on, looking so pained.

"Brittany."

My head snapped up and I looked at Graham.

His expression was grim and ashen as he carried the broken body of a light brown wolf.

Brittany, Tucker, and many others, they had all sacrificed themselves in order to save the pack.

They won't be forgotten.

___________________________________________________________________

Christina's POV

Unsure if I was allowed to leave the room, I decided I should go anyways. Then wars over! I rushed out the house, where I froze at the sight.

Graham was crying, holding a dead wolf in his arms.

Brittany.

Emma was screaming and sobbing, holding onto a sandy colored wolf.

Tucker?

My heart stopped beating. Were Emma and Tucker mates? It made sense though, after they had to share a room, it seemed as if they had grown a lot closer.

And the mark.

I felt tears sliding down my face as I stared at Emma and Graham. They had lost their mates. The pain they must be feeling...

Suddenly an arm snaked around my waist, pulling me backwards, and a hand covered my mouth muffling my scream.

Cole's head snapped up and his eyes darkened.

"Christina!" He roared.

"Ian!"

Cole froze and Mandy ran to Ian, blocking him from the on coming wolf, using her body as a shield.

I let out a blood curdling scream and the wolf attacked her, followed be 30 or so wolves emerging from the trees.

Cole was distracted by the attack, and I was pulled back into the house- unnoticed by the rest of the pack.

Just before my captor shut the door, I saw him.

Damon.

He gave me his famous smirk, before shifting and lunging at-

Cole.

__________________________________________________________________________

Once inside, I began to struggle- no, fight for my life. I kicked around and flailed my arms in attempt to injure my captor.

A thought popped into my mind, and I bit down on his hand, hard. He let out a yell and immediately released me.

Without a glance back, I charged up the stairs. And locked myself in Cole's room. I slowly backed away, my heart pounding.

"Christina. Open the door."

Ha. Good try, you psychopath.

"Fuck you." I spat out, backing away to the other side of the room.

Silence.

I waited anxiously.

"Christina. Please help me!"

My blood went cold.

"Mom?" I whispered.

"Honey, it's mom, please, he's gone!" She urged me through the door.

I slowly began making my way to the door, stopping right in front of it. What if this was a trap? Could it really be my mom?

Stupidly I opened the door, and stood there, face to face with my mom.

"I'm sorry." She whispered, not looking in my eyes.

"Wha-"

I was once again yanked into the stiff embrace of my captor, his hold on me much tighter than before.

"Let's go, Mrs. Fellows." He snarled.

Before I knew what was happening, a bloody wrist was shoved into my mouth, making me wretch and gag.

"Swallow if you know what's best for you." He whispered harshly.

After struggling a bit more, I gave up, and was forced to swallow the mouthful of blood.

"Sorry about this."

His hands cupped either side of my face, and in one swift movement, my neck was snapped like a twig, and darkness engulfed me.

___________________________________________________________________________

Cole's POV

Everything was on the line.

After the surprise attack started, we all shifted and began fighting with everything we had left.

Soon enough, there were only five rogues left, including Damon.

I had warned the rest of the pack that he was mine. I wanted to save him for last, making his death incredibly slow and painful. I wanted him to feel every ounce of pain he put Christina through.

I nodded my head towards Ian and Tyler, and the two of them quickly took out the four other rogues, leaving only Damon.

Right as I was about to lunge, Damon shifted into his human form, holding his hands up in mock surrender.

"You might not want to do that, Alpha Mathews." He hissed, his eyes dark with rage.

I shifted back and glared at him, trying to control my temper.

"And why's that?"

Damon smirked, knowing he had my attention.

"Well, at least let me see your reaction to your mate before you kill me." He said, shrugging as if it wasn't a big deal.

My blood was boiling.

"What. Did. You. Do?" I asked through gritted teeth.

He just continued to smirk, his eyes flickering towards the front door. I followed his line of vision, only to see nothing.

"Wha-"

A bone chilling scream came from the house. My head snapped back in that direction, only to watch in horror as a lifeless body collapsed in the shadows of the house.

"Mrs. Fellows?" I asked in a whisper.

She didn't move at all. Well, she was dead, drained of all her blood. I watched helplessly as the monster stepped over her body and out of the shadows.

"I'm so sorry Cole." She whispered, looking up at me tearfully.

Christina Fellows had been turned into a vampire.

Author's Note:

I was going to end it there too, but you guys are the best so...... <3

_______________________________________________________________________

Christina's POV

Life's full of surprises.

And that's exactly what I stood in the middle of, one giant, awful surprise.

"Look how disgusted he is by you." Damon said, smirking at Cole's expression. It was one of complete, utter horror. And the pain that followed, the pain of knowing Cole was going to leave me.

Me, the unwanted vampire monster.

"No one will ever love you the way I did, princess." Damon snarled.

Tears filled my eyes, and as I slowly looked away a feral growl ripped through the silence.

I looked up just in time to see Cole's wolf rip out Damon's heart, leaving the lifeless body of the ground, blood spilling out everywhere.

Everyone turned to look at me, fear evident in their eyes. For some reason, the need to drink the spilling blood left me. All I could do was just stand there and stare.

"Mandy!"

The attention was diverted to Ian, leaning over the nearly dead Mandy. She was abnormally pale, and looked almost faintly gray.

"Ian..." She whispered, "Please, please forgive me."

Tears streamed down his face and he kissed her forehead, "Of course I do, Mandy, I love you."

I watched as her eyes slowly began fluttering close, when an idea popped into my mind.

When I was younger, I used to read a lot of books of vampires. I remember of book talked about how a vampire's blood could heal.

I sprinted over to Mandy, and knelt down beside Ian.

"What are you-"

"Shh..." I hushed him.

I brought my wrist to my mouth and bit in, ignoring the slight pain. I gently raised her head with my other hand, and brought my wrist to her mouth.

"Drink, please." I pleaded.

At first she refused, but finally she swallowed. I pulled back my wrist and held my breath as we all waited.

She leaned back her head, and her eyes fluttered close. A sob ripped through my body, and I could no longer hold back the tears.

"Wait! Look!"

Immediately I opened my eyes to see the color being restored in Mandy, life leaking back into her. The wounds closed and her eyes opened, showing us the bright, blue shining eyes that we were going to miss so much.

I couldn't help but continue to cry for joy as Ian lifted her up into his arms, tears falling down his face as he held her close.

I stood up and backed away, giving them their space, just as I turned to walk off, I was embraced in the familiar arms of the one I loved, the one I lived for.

Cole.

"Baby girl, you are my life." He whispered into my hair, wrapping his arms around me.

___________________________________________________________________________

10 years later

"Mommy! Tucker keeps making fun of my fangs!" Little Brittany wailed, crossing her arms and pouting.

"Awww, baby girl, don't worry. That little pup is just jealous of you." I reassured her, kneeling down to her height.

"Wolves are better than vampires!"

I stood up and laughed.

"Really Cole? Way to stay mature." I teased.

"It's true mommy," Tucker insisted, only to be punched in the stomach by Brittany.

"Brittany! Violence isn't the answer." I shunned her, but secretly gave her a thumbs up when Cole and Tucker weren't watching.

"Okay, now why don't you two go play with Uncle Ian and Auntie Mandy," I said, shooing them away.

Tucker immediately ran off, while Brittany gave Cole and me a suspicious look over before following.

"Couldn't keep away from me, could ya?" Cole whispered wrapping his arms around me.

I smirked and leaned in so that my lips were brushing against his.

"Oh just give up already, Mr. Alpha." I teased and pulled away pretending to walk away.

Sure enough, it worked, for I wasn't even able to make it out the kitchen door before Cole grabbed my arm, turning me around to face him.

"Nice try, baby girl." He whispered into my neck, pressing me up against the wall.

I shivered with delight as he pulled away and looked into my eyes lovingly.

"I love you." We whispered at the same time.

"I love you more." He added, his eyes twinkling, before crashing his lips to mine.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Life's full of surprises, I know mine sure was. And although it seemed like there were more bad than good, I managed to pull through.

How? You may ask.

I found that one person.

The one you know that if you stay with them, life won't be easy. Yet, you still do. Why? For reasons unknown. And for those same reasons, that person makes you feel complete. They are the source for your joy, love, and happiness.

It's been ten years.

Ten years since Cole came into my life.

Since I decided I wanted nothing to do with him.

As you can see, a lot has changed.

And you know what? I am grateful for that. Because after everything that happened, I realized something.

Everything happens for a reason.

So even when you think you can't make it through, that you should just give up-

Don't.

Because in the end, everything will work out. And if you're as lucky as me, you will be able to enjoy life all because you didn't give up.

Which I guess could go the same for Cole.

That Alpha just would not give up.

THE END

_________________________________________________________________________

Wow.

It's actually over.

I guess now's the time to start thanking everyone. So although this last chapter is dedicated to LoveByLoving, I want to thank all my supporters. The ones who would leave messages on my message board, the ones who would leave me private messages that motivated me in more ways than you'd expect. All I can really say is thanks, but that word word has so much more meaning behind it than you'd expect. I am so grateful for the support, its indescribable.

This chapter is dedicated to LoveByLoving, she was the first one to ever comment and vote, and because of her, I continued to write.

So to all you writers, keep writing. I did, even when no one voted or commented for my first chapter, I kept writing, and look where that got me!

Anyways, this is my final goodbye.

much love!
