CHAPTER 19

Christina's POV

I rejected Cole.

So I guess that's the reason I was now chained to his bed, alone... in the dark. I sighed, shaking my wrist again in a futile attempt to escape. After I said I rejected him, Cole shifted into his wolf and if it wasn't for Tucker and Ian, I probably would have been made into doggie food. Unfortunately, Tucker handcuffed me to the bed because "Cole would be angry if I got away."

Well, I might as well go to sleep. It's not like i have anything better to do.

Cole's POV

I sprinted to the forest, leaping over fallen trees and letting a growl of anger rip through my throat. Christina rejected me. Yeah yeah, I should be happy about this. But guess what? I am fucking mad. How dare she? If anything it was a gift from the gods that her mate was me! But no! She was too stupid to see that-

What am I saying?

Screw it.

I like Christina. Hell- I am in love with her.

Yeah that's right. I wanted to be with Christina more than I have ever wanted anything. She is my mate. There is no way in hell that I am going to let her reject me. I couldn't bear to lose her, it would actually kill me.

I collapsed on the ground shifting into my human form.

I will fight for her, this isn't over yet.

I will have my mate.

Christina's POV

I woke up screaming, leaning forward with my head between my knees. Sweat ran down my back and tears blurred my vision and soaked my shirt.

Suddenly, the door was flung open, and Cole ran into the room, looking around frantically. He froze when he saw me, pausing before cautiously taking steps towards me.

When he stopped at the bed, I panicked. I started screaming and crying again, violently shaking also.

"Christina? Christina I am going to help you." Cole said quickly, crouching down and placing his hand on my shoulder.

Blackness.

Cole's POV

I nearly died when I saw my Christina like that.

She now was sleeping peacefully, the last of her tears were slowly trickling down her face. I sighed and unlocked the handcuffs. Examining her limp wrist, I winced at the slight of the blood trickling down the sides.

"Sarah!" I called out, "Come here quickly!"

After a couple of minutes, Sarah appeared in the doorway.

"Dear god! Cole what happened?!" She asked, eyes wide.

"Heal her." I ordered in my Alpha tone

Without hesitation, she began working on Christina. I left the room quickly, heading to find Ian to call a pack meeting. Not even knocking, I barged into Ian's room.

"Pack meeting in ten. Tell the rest of the pack." I ordered, ignoring Mandy's naked figure underneath Ian. Damn that is going to be a hard image to forget.

"Oh, uh... yeah... um, just give me a second." Stammered Ian nervously

I nodded my head and left, heading downstairs into the pack room. After only five minutes of waiting, members began filling the room and soon enough every member was there.

"Listen up guys, I have an announcement." I paused looking around.

"Christina is my mate." I said after a minute or so of silence.

"What?!"

Oh shit.

"How could you? You have been sleeping with me." Emma screamed throwing up her arms

Silence.

All eyes were on me.

"Yes that's true but-" I tried to say.

"How could you do this to me? To Christina?" She asked.

That surprised me.

"What?" I asked

"You have been fucking me all this time while you knew you had a mate? That's just not right. Poor Christina, she deserves better." Emma said angrily

Normally I would have told her to shut up in my alpha tone and all, but it was all true. Christina deserves much better.

"I know what I did is wrong... But I want to make it up." I said, sadness in my tone.

"Why? Did she find out or something?" Julia asked from the back of the room.

I rubbed my neck nervously, "Well she um, kind of... Well-"

"Spit it out man!" Tucker called out, slightly annoyed

"She rejected me."

Gasps and whispers filled the room.

"Serves you right." 

I looked up- shocked and angry that someone would ever dare say that to their Alpha. No matter what, no one may ever speak like that to me. I glared at Mandy, shaking slightly. 

"Never speak like that to me again." I growled

Immediately she bowed her head, "Sorry Alpha Mathews." 

I sighed, "Listen, Mandy is right. I brought this on myself, but the thing is, I want to make things right. You really don't know what you have till it's gone, and I will do everything in my power to fight for Christina." 

"Awwww!" Emma cooed, "I'm so proud of you." 

I smiled, glad that the pack was on my side with my decision. 

"Okay then, the meeting's over now." I said, rushing upstairs. 

I needed to talk to Christina. 

I needed her. 

I wanted my mate back.

Christina's POV

I woke up alone. 

What the hell happened?

All I remembered was having a nightmare, and waking up screaming. Then Cole came into my room and- blackness. What did he do? 

All of a sudden the door opened, revealing a smiling Cole. 

Smiling? Cole? 

I was just about to smile back, when I remembered- I hate Cole. He used me. I was nothing to him and you know what? He was dead to me. Mates my ass. I rejected him, wanna know why? It's because I don't need people like him in my life. 

"Baby girl, can we talk?" 

"Don't call me that. And no, we can't talk." I snapped, looking away. 

"Christina I am so sorry." He whispered, looking broken. 

Truthfully, I hated seeing him like that. It hurt me so much to see him that way. But I ignored the hurt I shared with him, and continued to look away. 

"Baby girl, is there anything I can do?" Cole pleaded

"You can stay the hell away from me, and I don't know, give me my life back?" 

"You know I can't do that..." He trailed off. 

I sighed, looking into his ice blue eyes, "Then just give me space." 

A grin broke out on his face, "Perfect! I will give you space! Anything for my baby girl." 

I couldn't help but smile a little. Baby girl- who knew a nickname could make someone feel so loved. Yeah I know, I rejected Cole. But in all honesty, I would be lying if I said that I never wanted to be with him. 

I may say I hate him, but do I mean it? Hell no. 

We are mates- no matter what I say or do will change that. There is nothing in the world that can take away the connection I have with him. 

"Am I allowed to sleep here?" Cole asked hopefully. 

"Where else would you sleep?"

Damn. 

He looked like a little boy on Christmas! 

"There is actually something you could do for me." I said after a bit

"What is it?!" Cole asked frantically. 

I laughed, "I nee some new clothes-"

"Done." Cole said, leaving the room. 

Ok?

Within a couple minutes, he was back in the room.

"I sent Julia and Mandy out to go shopping for you." Cole told me, smiling. 

"Thanks, um... I'm a little tired. I am going sleep." I said quietly. 

"Of course, of course. Sweet dreams, baby girl." Cole said, leaning down to kiss my forehead before leaving. 

I frowned. 

I liked Cole, no doubt about it. 

But this new him was.... a little too desperate. I get that he is trying to win me back and all, but I can't help but miss the tension between us before- it was such a turn on. 

I hope I get my Cole back. 

My Cole, I like the sound of that.

The next day

I woke up to a room filled with shopping bags. 

Oh dear lord, Mandy and Julia really went crazy when it came to shopping. They never seemed like the crazed shopper types at school. 

School. 

Guess that's pretty much a lost cause for me now. 

I stood up and began looking through the dozens of bags.

This is going to be fun.

Cole's POV

What have I done?

Sure, I wanted Christina back and all, but acting like a desperate puppy was pathetic. Yeah, I am going to get her back, but not by bowing down to her and worshipping the ground she walks on. 

I headed upstairs into my room.

Christina's POV

There was a short knock on the door. 

"Come in!" I called out, now sitting in a pile of clothes.

Cole walked into the room, not even pausing to look at all the clothes scattered around his room. Instead, he just stared at me, almost analyzing me.

"Yes?" I asked, feeling a little nervous. 

"I know that last night I said I would do anything and everything for you, but you need to understand that I am not actually going to break my back for you." Cole said. 

I normally would have understood this, but my stubbornness got the best of me.

"What if I don't want you as a mate?"

"I beg to differ." Cole countered cooly, walking up to me and gently pulling me up to my feet. 

Then that thing happened. 

You know? 

Where I take a step back and he takes a step forward, then the next thing I know, I am pressed up against the wall. 

Fun. 

He flushed his body against mine, causing my breath to get caught in my throat. Unfortunately, this didn't go unnoticed by Cole, and he began to smirk. That annoyed me. 

And for reasons that I can't explain- it totally turned me on. 

Yeah that;s right. 

Christina Fellows was getting all hot and bothered. 

I tried to push away, bur he just pressed himself closer, pinning me to the wall. 

"Just give up Cole." I said shakily, trying to sound confident.

Cole cocked an eyebrow and leaned so that he mouth was right by my ear, his hot breath fanning across my neck, causing me to shiver against him.  

"You say you don't want me and that you hate me. And baby girl, go ahead you can say all that you want. But remember, I am a werewolf. I have super senses," he paused, "And right now, I am enjoying the smell of you..."

I gulped. 

Hey, I am a hormonal teenage girl pinned against the wall by an extremely attractive guy! What can I do? 

"And your arousal."

Holy shit. 

Cole leaned away looking into my eyes and smirking. 

"Yeah, tell yourself you don't need or want me, but I think your body says otherwise."
