I arrive at Cage's house forty minutes later, very much confused as to what it could be that he asked me to come here for. I don't bother heading into the house, already knowing they are not there. Cage said they will be outside and by the fenced-in area near the barn. The closer I get the more assurance I get that I'm going in the right direction. I hear the sounds of the horse's hooves hitting the ground and Knox and Kohl's joyous laughter. The moment I spot them both up on the horses they named Socks and Dalmatian I feel myself start to get worried.

They could get thrown off and be severely injured.

Though I also really want to get a bunch of pictures of them and their smiles that are brighter than the sun could ever be.

"Rory!" I hear Cage yell for me and walk over to him.

"Hey," I say.

He pulls me into his arms and kisses me like he has been dying to do so all week, he's kissed me any chance he could so he's not that starved for a kiss. Though I don't hesitate to kiss him back just as enthusiastically. My hands glide over his chest and interlock behind his neck. One of his hands goes to the back of my hair, where he weaves his fingers in between my long chestnut brown locks. I get as close to him as humanly possible and sigh in pleasure.

I will never grow tired of the feeling of his lips pressed against mine or the way my body mold perfectly to his. He's like the last piece of the puzzle, and he gives me that puzzle is finally finished feeling. You know how you spend all of that time working getting all of the pieces in the right place and then comes the final piece?

You feel so relieved, proud, and happy all at the same time when you put that final piece into place

I feel so relieved now that boys' have their father in their life and that he's in mine, so proud to call him mine, and so happy about the memories we have created and the many more we will down the road.

We both pull back from the kiss to catch our breath, and he nuzzles my nose while our breathing returns to normal.

"I've missed you Sugar."

"You just saw me this morning," I stare into his gray-blue gaze, almost getting lost into their depths.

"I still missed you. I miss you anytime you're not right next to me like this," Cage tightens his arm around my waist as if to prove a point.

"Did you take pictures of Knox and Kohl riding?"

"No, I didn't."

At that, I pull out of his arms and stare him down with an annoyed glare. "Cage," I try to say in an annoyed tone but it comes out more like a whine.

"I'm just kidding Sugar, of course, I took pictures. You really think I wouldn't?"

"Maybe," I say looking down at the ground, I kick the dirt beneath my feet a bit with my boots.

Cage just laughs and pulls me back into his arms.

Knox and Kohl both come trotting over on their horses, with Catch right behind them on Rocket. Both look like they have done this all their lives, though have only been riding for a few hours at most. I never knew if they liked horses or not because they have never said anything about them before. I can assume now that they really do like them if they haven't in the past.

"Mom! Look at us! Isn't this so cool?" Kohl's face is practically glowing from how happy he is up on that saddle.

"So cool honey," I pull out my phone so I can take a few pictures of them both, then I send them off to my parents.

I also take a few of Catch, Knox, and Kohl so I could get them printed some time I know Catch would probably love having a photo of them altogether.

"Catch you want to take Knox and Kohl inside and make them something to eat? I'm sure they're starting to get hungry."

Catch nods his head in agreement to his brother.

"Aww I'm not hungry though can we please keep riding them?" Kohl pouts.

Knox coughs and Kohl directs his attention to him. They seem to have a silent conversation one that I have no clue what's being said in but for some reason, Cage and Catch seem to.

What is going on?

"Oh! Okay Dad I am suddenly hungry now. Bye!"

Catch leads them all to the barn, to put the horses in their stalls I presume, and then comes back out with Midnight and Moonlight the two Arabian horses Cage and I named, already saddled. He silently hands them off to Cage by the reins and then leads the boys to the house.

"I'll teach you how to ride Moonlight. She's really gentle and prefers strolls over running. We taught Knox and Kohl how to ride her first, because of that," Cage leads the horses into the fenced-in area, then ties Midnight up to one of the posts so he doesn't run while Cage is trying to teach me. "Alright come here Sugar. Okay, so how to mount the horse what you're going to do is stand on the left side of the horse then put your left foot on the stirrup. Which is this thing right here. Once you got your foot on it grab onto the horn and then jump up and try to throw your right leg over the saddle."

I give what he said a try and the first attempt doesn't go so well, my foot slips out of the stirrup and I would have fallen on my butt if Cage wasn't there to catch me.

"It's okay try it again I know you'll get it."

I try it again and this time I do get my leg up and over the horse, being way up here though makes me nervous.

"Now what?" I ask and look down at Cage who's sporting a proud smile on that handsome face of his.

"Now, here take the reins hold on to them fairly tightly and then what you're going to do is give it a light tug to get Moonlight's attention. Once you have her attention you are just going to hug her with your calves and then she should go forward unless she wants to be stubborn," Cage hands me the reins and then I do as he instructed.

Moonlight begins to move and my eyes widen in alarm unsure of how fast the horse will go, but much to my relief she keeps to a leisurely stroll. I start to enjoy it now that I know she won't try to go any faster than this. It's actually quite fun, riding a horse is something I never saw myself doing but I'm so glad I did.

I love it.

Cage goes over to Midnight and unties him, then he walks over to the gate that let's you into the fenced-in area and opens it.

"Come on Rory let's take a ride down to the pond," Cage gets up onto his horse and waits for me to get to his side before he takes off. "So what do you think of riding so far?"

"It's fun I was nervous at first cause you can't exactly know what she's thinking, but I love riding. It was never something I saw myself doing before."

We arrive at the pond and Cage gets off his horse and ties him to a tree, so Midnight doesn't run then comes over and helps me down before doing the same with Moonlight.

The pond is still just as beautiful as I remember it to be. It's a murky dark green color but every time the sun peaks out from in between the cloud it sparkles on top like a bunch of diamonds. Even with all of the trees being bare of leaves because of winter they still make this place look stunning. I bet it would look even better in the spring or summer.

"You know when I first came back to town I never thought I would see you again, and then I over heard someone talking about this new desert you made and that they had to try it. It could have been someone else named Rory but I knew it in my gut that it was you," Cage sits down on a large rock near the pond and I sit down next to him. "I kind of figured you would hate me and would tell me to go away when I you saw me but it was a chance I was willing to take because I had to see you. I was expecting anger or to be brushed off not a cupcake in the face, which was delicious by the way now that I actually had the chance to try one a while back."

"Well you weren't missing much the first time I put a little too much salt in that batch," I feel Cage's eyes on me so I look over to him, he seems nervous for some reason.

"Rory?"

"What is it Cage?"

"I know we haven't been together long and other people might think I'm rushing this, but I can't picture a life without you. I want you next to me every night as I fall asleep and every morning when I wake up. I want to attempt to cook you and the boys' breakfast in the mornings and have you get mad at me for destroying the kitchen and kick me out so you can make breakfast instead, cause I can't cook." I laugh at that remembering that happening a week ago.

He ruined the kitchen, he somehow got almost every single dish dirty for just eggs, bacon and toast, which was all got burnt by the way.

"I want family movie nights and Just Taco nights and I want to be there to ask Knox and Kohl how their day at school was and how your day at work was at dinner every night. I want you to move in with me Rory," Cage is staring at me with so much love, and telling me all of these things that I want just as much as he does.

"I'll move in with you," I reach over to him and hug him, he hugs me back for second then releases and hoes to stand in front of me.

Then he pulls something out of his pocket and gets down on one knee.

"Will you marry me Sugar?" Cage opens up that box inside is this beautiful ring that has me in awe.

Tears start to form in my eyes and slowly drips down my cheeks my lips beginning to form a smile, I never thought I would see such a sight like this in my entire life. Cage down on one knee asking me to marry him.

The ring is a white gold one carat snowdrift diamond ring with a closed setting, and a round cut diamond. It's beautiful and nothing overly flashy, it the perfect sized diamond.

It's the perfect ring that goes along with the perfect man.

"Yes! Yes I'll marry you Cage."

Cage takes the ring out and slides it onto my left hand ring finger, and then I throw myself at him. I hug him so tightly and pepper kisses all over his face, making him laugh. Then I kiss him for real, pouring all of my love and happiness into the kiss.

You know eight years ago I just thought he was just another annoying popular jock. It's crazy how one night changed my opinion of him and our lives, others might not believe in fate but I can't help but do believe in fate. It's like everything in life feels exactly how it was always meant to be. Me in this man's arms always and our son's by our sides.

Which out of nowhere they are.

Cage and I pull back from the kiss when Knox and Kohl are right there hugging us.

"What are you two doing here?"

"You really thought we were going to miss you asking Mom to marry you?" Knox rolls his eyes and Kohl shoots Cage a get real look. "Oh and we also recorded it you're welcome!"

One look behind me shows Catch hiding, quite terribly might I add, with his phone up and recording us. I shake my head and gesture him over to us.

"Sorry I just couldn't tell them no when they used Cage's puppy dog eyes on me. I swear it's the hardest thing in the world to tell them no when they look at you like that," Catch stops recording, and puts his phone away.

"Of course it is how do you think I got Rory to give me the time of day? She couldn't say no to the eyes either," Cage lays a smacking kiss on my cheek and I roll my eyes.

"Your eyes need to be labeled with a caution sign or something. Beware of eyes hard to resist," I say.

"Does that mean our eyes need a label too?" Kohl looks up ate with those eyes of his just like his father's.

"Yes both of your eyes especially. They make it extremely difficult to say no."

"So can Sam stay over tonight?"

Knox and Kohl both give me puppy dog eyes, which makes us laugh, but of course they get me to agree.

Well that is the last chapter of The Perfect Mistake! I will be writing a epilogue at some point but for now The Perfect Mistake is done. I am well aware that this story does need some work right now I have someone who is helping me edit and I will be going back and rewriting the chapters someday. I really hope you enjoyed this story as much as I did writing it. It only took me a year to finish it. (Today marks the one year mark since I started writing The Perfect Mistake) Also thank you for all of your support throughout the entire story it means so much to me. When I first started writing it and posted it I didn't really expect it to get has much reads as it has and it all thanks you guys! I really hope you all have an amazing night or day.💕
