Chapter 21
Once we'd made our decision, we had to be sneaky. We knew very well that she'd be expected to go with the group at noon for lunch, and then join them to go to the yacht. That wasn't going to work with us having to get to the airport. Instead, I sent her back to the hotel immediately, with all her gear, and I'd meet her there after work since I could simply bring the rest of the clothes that I still had hiding in the office without having to go home.
A little before lunch, the door to the conference room opened. To my surprise though, it was Sophia, and not Jax or Bryan, for which I was grateful. "Hey Kris!" she purred, sliding into the seat next to me. She was a striking woman, with mocha colored skin to go along with her jet black hair and deep brown eyes. When she was wearing one of her power suits, it was hard not to get caught up in her charms.
"Hey. You have good timing, I need a quick contract authorizing the use of a song for demonstration purposes, and if our bid wins we would pay fair market value for the rights. Oh, and I need it soon, I'm leaving in five hours for a flight to go present it," I told her while I was typing up an email to Monica.
"Someone is all business today. Not even a hug?" she asked. I knew if I looked at her, she'd be giving me a fake pout, so I didn't bother.
"Nope. No time," I replied. "Besides, the last time you hugged me you grabbed my ass."
"And you're complaining? I didn't think that ass was getting any action these days! Or are the office rumors wrong?"
I sighed, then turned to look at her. "Sophia, I'm sorry if I'm short, but we're in a bit of a time crunch here. We have a flight to catch, so please keep the flirting to a minimum."
She grunted in reply. "You're a grumpy one today!"
"As I said, I'm sorry, I really am. But you know how things are around here, and things are coming to a head. This Nike deal is the start of something big, and I'm hoping to get it finished up in the next week if this trip goes well."
"Okay, okay. Enough said. What song and artist do you want this for?"
"I need it for KISS and their song Lick It Up."
"Good choice! I can't wait to see that commercial!" Sophia started singing the song under her breath, which brought a smile to my face. She might annoy me sometimes, but she was still a good person. Just perpetually horny. With Brooke around, so was I these days!
"I hope we win then, because It's going to be pretty awesome, if I do say so myself!" I might be lying, I only had a vague idea for that, but I knew that between me and Brooke, we'd come up with something great, now that we had the music selected. The good thing was that the commercial wasn't even necessary for the pitch. We needed web ads first, and that would be easy. I could already see images of Hilda in the Gene Simmons KISS makeup and her tongue out like his used to be in the KISS concerts.
I was making notes on all these ideas, even the rough ones, so that I could go over them with Brooke and hope that her brain came up with more good ideas, when Jax walked in. He gave a double take to Sophia, then just sighed when he noticed that Brooke wasn't there.
"Where is she?" he asked wearily. He must have just left the copy room again, because I know he wasn't working.
"She left. She came back after seeing you and said that she was going home because she wasn't feeling well," I told him, since that was the lie that we were going with. "It makes sense, you make a lot of the ladies here nauseous, though with at least a few it's morning sickness, right?" I heard Sophia snort quietly next to me and stifle a laugh.
"Kris, just shut up," he groaned. "I don't want to hear your shit today!"
"Then you're in the wrong place. I'm going to treat you like the ass you are every time you're in here," I pointed out. "So go have a nice lunch and pretend you're working hard."
"I will. And I'll be happy to make a lot more money than you every month too. Thanks so much for helping me do that!" He gave me a little smirk before walking out.
Smirk all you like asshole. You won't be for much longer!
"Jax looking for your partner?" Sophia asked quietly.
"Yep. She's the boss' daughter. She's having a hard time adjusting to the fact that her family is pretty much trash," I replied. "But she's a good one. I'm pretending she's adopted."
"You want me to just print this contract up?" she asked as she finished up.
"Yep. I can take it with me, and we'll be good." She was quick, which I appreciated. It let me get back to work, and I knew that the rest of the day would hopefully be easy sailing. Well, flying.
At 4pm I packed up all of the clothes and toiletries that I had in the cabinet into my duffel bag, got my laptop and all of my notes into my backpack, and walked out of the building. I got a few confused stares, as I never left that early, but I ignored them. I wasn't planning on leaving this early in the future, but with Carol on our side, I sure as hell wouldn't be spending any more nights here. Perhaps at Brooke's hotel though!
Speaking of which, it was a quick walk to her hotel where I then took the elevator to her room, and walked on in. We'd gotten a second key card from the front desk that morning just in case I wanted to come over while she was out with her dad, not knowing how quickly I'd be using it. As I walked in, I heard the shower running, and made my way to the bathroom.
"Hey, I'm here. Can I do anything to help?" I called out after knocking on the open door. I was even polite and didn't peek in at her, even though I really wanted to!
"I'd I ask you to wash my back, but then we'd probably miss our flight!" she said over the sound of the water. She wasn't wrong either, I'd never want to stop.
"Then I better stay out here! If I see you, I might not be able to resist!"
I sat down on the couch and pulled my phone to check my emails. Carol had our flight information and was prepared to take us to my parents flat. Monica couldn't believe we were trying to get Gene Simmons involved but was happy to have him as an owner if he wanted to do that. We settled on a $500k purchase fee, as that would help get the entire league off the ground even if Nike passed on the sponsorship. Hilda was even more excited, but only because she wanted to measure her tongue against his, which I guess was understandable. Happiest of all were my parents, who were thrilled to have us there for a couple of days, even if we had to work. But Friday night was all with them, so they'd be happy about that.
A few minutes later, I heard the water shut off, and then Brooke's humming could be heard through the bathroom. I couldn't tell what she was humming, but it sounded familiar. But I stopped trying to figure it out when she walked out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel and nothing else. Damn she looked good!
"You better get some clothes on, quick!" I said as I surged to my feet and took a couple steps closer to her. I still owed her from that little episode under the table!
But instead of putting clothes on, she just dropped the towel, leaving her naked before me, her short hair still damp after being toweled off. "Are you sure you want me to cover up?"
As I got closer, she held her arms out to invite me into a hug and I fell right into it. I wrapped my arms around her, my mouth meeting hers in a kiss that I tried not to deepen for fear of losing all control. Of course, she had no hesitation in doing that though, and her tongue was soon dancing with mine as we both happily whimpered together.
We stood as one for a few minutes before we finally pulled away, our foreheads touching and smiles on our faces. "I could get used to this," I whispered to her.
"The kisses, or me being naked?" she asked with a giggle.
"Both! Now get dressed before we lose track of time!"
"Okay! What should I wear if I'm meeting your parents?" she wondered while parading around naked to the closet. Damn, what a view. I just wanted to get on my knees and worship her ass.
"Umm... A skirt should work. A really short one!" I decided.
She looked over her shoulder at me with a raised eyebrow. "You really want me to meet your parents in a miniskirt?"
"I'm not too worried about that," I admitted. "They're going to love you no matter what you wear. But some time over the Atlantic, I'm going to repay you for that treat under the table this morning, and a short shirt would really help with that!"
Her face burned crimson, as she turned back to the closet and picked out a skirt that would never pass a school dress code. It was going to be a fun flight!
