Chapter 6
I'm back with another chapter as promised. I'll try to have the next one up by tomorrow, but if not it will be up soon. Enjoy :)
*Rights to Uncle Rick*
Percy's POV:
Percy woke up to a sharp infant scream from down the hall. Next to him, Annabeth groaned and pushed her face into the pillow. She had been discharged after 3 days in the hospital and they had been home for 4 days, making the twins a week old. So far, they hadn't really left the house. Their friends had been so helpful to them. Calypso, Katie, Piper, and Hazel often rotated bringing them homemade meals. Calypso also brought Annabeth tea, saying it was good for postpartum (Annabeth didn't argue, Calypso had her own kids a millennia ago).
He could tell the baby crying was Silena. Percy sat up and looked at the clock, rubbing his eyes. It was only 2:43am. He sighed and got out of bed.
Next to him, Annabeth mumbled, "Thank you, Percy..."
"No problem, go back to sleep." she didn't protest.
Percy walked down to the nursery to see little Silena wailing to no end. Somehow, Luke was still asleep. He was the better one throughout the night. He walked over to her crib (made by Leo, part of it consisted of wood from the mast of the argo ll), and frowned when he saw her. Most of the time she would be wide awake with tears streaming down her grey eyes. But her eyes were closed.
Percy picked her up and rocked her back and forth hushing and whispering to her. Nothing worked. He took her back to his room, where Annabeth was now up from the still crying baby. She frowned too.
"What's wrong?" she asked groggily. Annabeth sat up and reached out for Silena. Percy placed her in Annabeth's arms, but she continued to cry.
"She hasn't stopped crying and she looks to still be asleep."
Annabeth looked for a second like she wanted to start crying too. "Poor thing. I think she's having a nightmare-"
"Babies can have nightmares?" He asked, sitting down next to her. Annabeth smirked at his ignorance.
"I don't know if all do, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a demigod thing. We will ask Chiron when we take them out tomorrow." Chiron and most of the other campers hadn't actually seen the baby yet. The plan was to show them off around camp tomorrow, and take them to see Sally and Paul the next day, as they aren't allowed inside camp.
Just then, Silena opened her eyes just then, and started to cry harder. She reached her little hands up to Percy, causing Annabeth to roll her eyes.
"Well," She stated. "You got your wish, she's a daddy's girl."
Percy smiled and gave a short chuckle. He reached over and took the little girl. Her cries slowed down, until she was just sniffling.
"Just keep her in here for tonight," Annabeth whispered. "She probably has separation anxiety too."
"Isn't that dangerous for the baby, to sleep with them I mean. I don't want to hurt her because one of us moved and ended up on top of her-"
"It'll be fine. Just sleep on your back and let her sleep on your chest, she'd like that anyways."
Percy held her close as he laid down. In her sleep, the baby curled up on his chest and snuggled into him. Percy's heart skipped a beat from it. Next to him, Annabeth curled into his side putting her head on his shoulder. All three of them were asleep in seconds.

Annabeth's POV:
Annabeth woke up again at about 8:00 to the sunlight streaming through her window. Surprisingly, the babies slept through the rest of the night. Either that or Percy played hero and dealt with it so she could sleep. Big shock, her husband wasn't in bed. She sat up, stretched, and went downstairs to get her morning coffee.
Percy was already downstairs making breakfast. His back was turned to her, but he held Luke in one arm, flipping pancakes with the other. Silena was in the pack n play in the living room, not far from them. Annabeth walked up behind him and wrapped her slim arms around his waist.
He turned around to face her and kissed her on the cheek. "Morning, Wise girl," He said.
"Morning Seaweed Brain," She responded, looking over at the stack of pancakes. "Those look good."
"Get a plate and eat," he said. She did just that and sat down at the kitchen table. Silena was asleep in the pack n play. Now you wanna sleep, she thought.
She finished her breakfast quickly and went over to Silena. She picked her up and walked over to Percy, taking Luke from him. "I'm gonna go get these two ready for the day. Come upstairs when you're done because I need to shower and someone has to watch them," She stated. Percy nodded and she went upstairs.
She decided to put Silena in a little white dress with a matching headband in her dark hair. Luke was in a white long sleeve shirt with a pair of jeans on. Just then, Luke started crying. Annabeth sighed, he hadn't been fed yet. For some reason, breastfeeding made her tired. Probably because it felt like she was always doing it. After all, she was the main food source for two people.
She finished feeding him just as Percy walked in. He picked up Silena and cooed at her. "Aren't you a pretty little thing," He said smiling. Silena just made baby noises in return.
"I'm going to shower and get ready," Annabeth started, "don't burn the house down."
Percy rolled his eyes. "I'm not that stupid."
"Whatever," She mumbled, and left the room.

Annabeth stepped out of the shower feeling ten times better. Having kids took a toll on relaxation, so she enjoyed her few moments of peace. She picked out a sundress that stopped just above her knees. She had been living out of sweatpants for the past few months so she tried to look presentable. Not only that, but she found sundresses to feel better when avoiding her stitches...
She walked downstairs to see Percy playing with their children. He saw her and his jaw dropped. Annabeth did a double take, wondering what was so special. He smiled at her and walked over to her, grabbing her hand and twirling her around.
"Didn't you just have two babies a week ago?" He awed. Annabeth didn't understand where he was going with this.
"Yeah... why?"
"You look amazing, Annabeth," Percy finished.
She blushed. "All I did was put on a dress."
"Yeah you did, and it looks good." He stated.
She laughed at him and gave him a quick kiss. Annabeth walked over and picked up Luke. "Are you ready to go yet?" she asked him.
"Let me go put a different shirt on first."
"Okay."
He came back down with a dark blue v-neck and a pair of jeans. "'Kay we can go now," He said, picking up Silena. Together, the four of them walked down through camp. Many people stared and awed at them. Not long after, they reached the Big House. Chiron was on the porch as usual, Dionysus wasn't there. Chiron smiled at them and trotted over to them where they met at the front of the porch.
"Percy, Annabeth, how are you two?" He smiled at them with a fatherly look. "And these must be your children."
"We are good and yes, they are," Annabeth answered hugging him. They all sat down in chairs, Chiron sinking into his wheelchair.
"I have heard rumors, but what are there names?" He asked.
"Luke Charles and Silena Zoë," Percy said proudly. Chiron gave them a sad smile at the names, while Percy passed Silena to him. Chiron took the baby and studied her face.
"She looks very much like her father," He decided, looking back up at Percy.
"I said the same," Annabeth agreed. She traded Silena out for Luke and Chiron stared down at him.
"This one is a good mix, but if I had to choose I would say he looks more like his mother."
Annabeth didn't think that as much, Luke just sat in between their looks. Chiron continued.
"Traditionally," He began. "Luke would be the most powerful, considering he is the oldest and the firstborn son. Now, this has changed throughout history as female rights and power has rised, but I sense a great amount of power in your son."
Annabeth was about to ask about her daughter, but Percy started talking.
"Silena was crying last night and didn't wake up when we tried. Do you think that she could be having nightmares?"
Chiron was silent for a minute, then spoke, "I wouldn't be surprised. Considering that the two of you have had experience with that, she might have inherited it from one of you. It's also a demigod thing so it may have come from the godly genetics." Annabeth didn't know how to feel about that. It was almost like she cursed her sweet baby...
The horn sounded, signaling for lunch and ending their conversation. She sighed and stood up slowly.
"You best get going now," Chiron said. "Many people would like to see your children."
Percy nodded and they said goodbye, walking to the pavilion. While it was early December, it was still warm inside the borders. There was a slight breeze that filled the air as they walked and the scent of strawberries filled Annabeth's nose. I needed to get out, she thought.
Not long after, they reached the dining pavilion. They were quickly flooded by all the females in the area, namely the Aphrodite cabin. They all squealed and cooed and awed at the babies before them. Drew tried to grab Silena from her, but Thalia and Clarisse ripped her off and threw her to the ground. Piper and Miranda Gardner stood on their tables and yelled for their siblings to back off, causing the majority of the people to leave them.
Percy led Annabeth to the Poseidon table, where the rest of the seven, Calypso, and Thalia sat. Reyna and Nico weren't there. After most of the campers got older, they stopped caring about who's table was who's, and sat wherever. Occasionally, Annabeth sat at the Athena table to please her mother, and even slept in her cabin sometimes. While she didn't always get along with her mother, but sleeping in the Poseidon cabin and eating at his table might as well have been holding up a middle finger.
She sat next to Percy and Thalia, across from Jason. Thalia was the first to address her.
"Well, wasn't that fun?" she laughed while plucking Silena up from her, Piper taking Luke from Percy.
"Please," Annabeth said. "You were just happy to be able to throw down Drew."
Thalia shrugged, "What can I say, the bitch annoys the Hades out of me."
It was Annabeth's turn to laugh at that. She couldn't disagree with facts.
Piper rolled her eyes. "Shut up, both of you. Do you know what it's like to share a room with her?! I can smell the Chanel before she even walks through the door!"
Everyone laughed at that one, causing Drew to glare from the Aphrodite table.
"Where are Nico and Reyna?" Percy asked.
"Reyna had to get back to Camp Jupiter, in fact I'm leaving in two days," Frank explained. "I think Nico went to go see Will and give him lunch."
Jason cleared his throat. "Speaking of Camp Jupiter, Reyna texted me and said that the schools in New Rome wanted the seven of us to come and share our experiences of our quest on the Argo. I'm guessing it's the middle school or something. Supposedly it was requested by the kids, considering most of them have never been on a quest and would like to hear one of the greatest."
Annabeth chuckled inwardly at this. The children in New Rome loved the seven. Often when her and Percy would walk downtown, some little girl would give her a flower or a bakery would give them free food for 'their service to Rome.' But that's how Romans were. Here, the younger kids would skip by and say hello, but none of them treated her like a goddess (which she was fine with.) Part of this was because the Greeks knew them better, and were more laid back.
"When do they want me to come?" Leo asked.
"You mean us." Piper corrected.
"No," Leo continued. "I mean me. They obviously wanted me and asked you guys to tag along as an entourage. You must remember Beauty Queen, all da ladies love Leo." He finished by spreading his arms and lighting his hands on fire. Calypso hit him with her sandal.
"Be quiet, Valdez." she said.
"Calm down, mamacita, I was just telling the truth."
Everyone else groaned and rolled their eyes around the table.
"But seriously," Annabeth questioned. "When do they want us to come?"
"Reyna said in about a week or two, just before the school goes on winter break," Jason answered.
Annabeth frowned. She would either have to find someone to watch their babies, or take them with her. She didn't want to leave her not-even-a-month-old children behind. On the other hand, driving with them wouldn't be any better, and flying wasn't ideal either. Percy must have been thinking the same, because he wore the same expression.
He spoke for her. "What are we supposed to do with our kids?"
"Nico and I could probably shadow travel you guys there, though I don't know how they would react. It is better than flying though and none of you guys want to spend a week in the car driving," Hazel suggested.
"And when you get there, either Reyna or myself could watch them for a little bit while you guys are at the school," Calypso offered. Annabeth had to admit, it was very generous of them. She was about to respond but was cut off by the table shaking.
Annabeth looked around the pavilion quickly, to see what was happening. Surely enough, all the other tables were shaking and everyone looked around the room.
Thalia broke her train of thought by saying, "Guys..." she was looking up the hill at her tree and the Athena Parthenos. Annabeth squinted her eyes, and saw the barrier shaking. She took Silena from Thalia out of instinct.
Just then, the barrier broke, and all of Hades broke loose.
