Chapter 25

I'm back :) Happy Easter to all my fellow Christians and happy end-of-Passover to my Jewish friends (hope I said that right). Remember that it's not about eggs and bunnies but Jesus Christ💜 Also, when I was gone I got so many new ideas for more stories. What are opinions on if I made a historic Percabeth? It would be set in either the Golden Ages or the Dark Ages of Ancient Greece. Just an idea though ;) One more thing, shout out to LoveBooks151515 and QuinniexC for being the best readers and online friends I could have :D

Not mine.

Percy's POV:

Percy stood in the courtyards of New Rome. It was late May now and Annabeth had just graduated. The ceremony had ended roughly ten minutes ago and everyone was buzzing around, looking for family and friends.

Sally Jackson stood with him, holding Silena and Luke while he looked for Annabeth. Now full blooded mortals weren't really allowed into Camp Jupiter, but literally every demigod knew Sally Jackson, so she was just an exception. She flew across the country, even leaving Estelle behind, to see Annabeth graduate. Part of this was because before Estelle was born, Annabeth was like the daughter that Sally had never had. She also knew that Annabeth's mortal family was out of contact, and wouldn't be there for her. Not to mention they didn't even know if Athena would be there. Even though the whole 'kill the Romans' thing was over, the chances of her ever stepping foot in a Roman camp were slim.

Percy spotted Annabeth wading through the crowd. She wore her dark purple cap and gown, as did half of the people around them. She found him the same time he did, because she turned in his direction and was smiling brightly. They ran towards each other and Percy embraced her in a tight hug. They stood there like that for what felt like forever but not long enough, her legs wrapped around his waist with his hands on her back.

Annabeth laughed into his shirt. "You're going to have to let go, or you're going to crush your baby."

Percy set her down and kissed her instead. He pulled away from her, both smiling. Annabeth held up her degree proudly.

"I'm so proud of you, Wise Girl," he stated, giving her another peck on the cheek.

"Thanks, Seaweed Brain," she smiled. She stuck out her hand too, flashing her new college ring. "Do you like it?"

Percy chuckled, "That's the last thing you need, but yes I do." It was true, Annabeth always had 4 rings on. The first was the promise ring he had given her oh so long ago, the next was her engagement ring, then her wedding band, and finally, the ring he had gotten her for their anniversary on her camp necklace.

"True, but I like it," Annabeth shrugged. She grabbed his hand and they walked over to where Sally was waiting. Percy took Luke and Silena from her and while Sally hugged Annabeth tightly.

Sally smiled at Annabeth, "Look at you, all done with college."

"Oh trust me, I'm relieved," Annabeth laughed.

"Now you have baby #3 on the way, and you can focus on that."

Annabeth scrunched her nose. "I guess, I hope I can get a job and work a little before I go on maternity leave again."

"Don't worry about it, these things always work themselves out in the end. And children are a blessing," she glanced at Percy, "not always the easiest but blessings."

"Hey!" Percy argued.

"You know you weren't easy," Sally reminded.

"...Okay maybe I wasn't but I am quite the blessing."

Sally kissed his cheek, "Yes you are, but I do mean it."

Annabeth sighed and took Silena from Percy. "These two are loving, perfect, healthy, little children. I just hope the third will be fine..."

"They'll be okay," said a voice from behind them. Percy turned to find none other than Athena herself.

I stand corrected, he thought.

Annabeth stood next to him, shocked. "Mother?" she marveled. Athena smiled and hugged her daughter. Annabeth was too shocked to move at first, but hugged her back. "W-what are you doing here?"

"You didn't think I'd miss my oldest, living, smartest child's graduation did you?" Athena answered.

"Well, it's New Rome-"

"Oh trust me I don't like being here and I must leave soon before people notice me. But as I said, your baby should be okay."

Annabeth released the hug and straightened her gown. They had been apprehensive about the baby ever since she told Athena.

~Flashback~

Annabeth's POV:

Annabeth was walking through the streets of Olympus, looking for her mother. Percy had gone down somewhere in the water to see his father to tell him about the baby. They had told Sally the other day, who was more than thrilled to have another grandchild. Now, it came time for her to tell Athena.

She stopped outside her mother's temple in hopes she would be there. The gods often resided in their temples because they were often connected to a house of sorts.

It didn't take her long to find Athena. Her mother had been walking out as she was walking in. Athena smiled at Annabeth but as she got closer, it faded.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked Annabeth urgently.

"Nothing's really wrong, per say."

Athena grabbed her hand and pulled her along the streets. "Come, we shall go for a walk."

After a little longer, Annabeth spoke up. "Mom, I have to tell you something."

"What is it, dear?"

"I'm pregnant again," she rushed.

Athena stopped walking and cursed under her breath. "I should've guessed that by now," she muttered.

"What?"

"Nothing, congratulations," Athena smiled. They continued walking but this time, in a different direction.

"Where are we going?" Annabeth asked.

"Apollo," she answered.

"Why?"

"I sense sickness, I think there's something wrong with your baby."

Sure enough she was right. Annabeth followed her to see Apollo where he thought the same thing. After a little bit more looking into it, he said the baby was showing signs of brain damage. Annabeth didn't know how they could tell this early, but she didn't question it. Apollo had said that the baby would most likely be fine and that it would fix itself out as it grows, but there were still chances of horrible things.

She told Percy right away. Together, they decided not to tell many people about said problems. They only people who did know were Sally, Will Solace, Athena, Apollo, and Poseidon. They were trying not to worry other people with it, including themselves. They were hoping the issue would be resolved.

~End of Flashback~

Percy's POV:

"I hope so," Annabeth said.

"I must go now," Athena smiled. "I just wanted to tell you congratulations."

"Thank you," Annabeth nodded. Athena disappeared in a flash of light, confusing many people around them.

"You ready to go to dinner?" Percy asked. They had made plans after this with the seven to go to dinner in New Rome.

"Yeah, let me get changed out of this first," she said, gesturing to her gown.

"I'll take the kids with me," Sally offered. "Then you two can enjoy the rest of your day."

Annabeth gave a relieving sigh, "Thank you, Sally."

"Yeah, thanks mom," Percy added.

"Of course."

~~~~~
Annabeth's POV:
Annabeth stood in the hotel bathroom surveying her appearance. She wore a short white sundress with sandals. Thankfully, her baby bump was not that noticeable yet, and her dress concealed it. It was far different than when she was pregnant with the twins, she had been twice the size then as she was now.
She fluffed her hair a bit and arranged it so it sat in front of her shoulders. She didn't usually wear her hair down but it had already been done for graduation so there wasn't much she had to do with it.
Annabeth took her college ring off her right hand and slid it on her camp necklace. She paused to think about her dad. She had worn his college ring around ever since she was 7, never taking it off. It made her realize how blind she had been, creating an ideal perfect family in her head that wasn't going to happen. Now she was married and had two kids with a third on the way, and that was her perfect family. Her dad never was that for her. Annabeth hoped that they would be able to provide Luke and Silena with the loving family she didn't grow up with.
But something in her couldn't get rid of her dad's ring. She could've dropped it in the lake or down a gutter in New York, but instead, she had it stored in the back of her dresser. Part of her was still hoping she'd see him again, the other half didn't want to.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"You ready?" Percy asked.
Annabeth tied her necklace back on quickly. "Yeah, coming." She stepped out of the bathroom where Percy was waiting for her.
He gave her his famous lop sided troublemaker smile and kissed her. "You look beautiful."
Annabeth blushed, "You say that to everything I wear."
"And I mean it," he kissed her again and hugged her from behind, resting his hands on her abdomen. "How's the baby?"
"Fine, I guess," she shrugged. "Percy, I really hope that it's okay-"
"It's gonna be fine," he promised.
"But what if it's hurt or has some major health problems-"
"Then we can't change it, we have to just pray it'll be okay. And you could probably help it and me by taking it easy."
Annabeth sighed, "Okay."
"Let's go meet with the others," Percy said, releasing their hug and taking her hand instead.
They met in the courtyard in the center of New Rome. Jason and Piper were already there, sitting on the edge of a fountain. On top of this fountain, was a statue of Kymopoleia. Piper looked stunning as always with a short pink floral dress and cork heels. For not being as preppy as the other daughters of Aphrodite, Piper still always looked put together.
Percy sat next to Jason and Annabeth sat next to Piper while they waited for the others, making small talk.
"So, how was the ceremony? Sorry we couldn't be there," Piper said. The college wasn't that big and for some reason, they had limited entry for guests per person. This meant that their friends couldn't come, which was why they were going to dinner.
"It's okay," Annabeth assured, "and it was lovely. My mother even showed up for a minute."
Piper coughed, "She did?"
"Yup."
"Does she know about the baby?"
"Yeah, we told them and Sally a while back," Annabeth said, putting a hand over her abdomen.
"That's good, how is she anyways?" Piper asked.
"She?"
"Well I want you to have a girl, so she. Answer the question."
Annabeth didn't want to lie to Piper, but her and Percy had already agreed not to tell them about the baby's real condition. Annabeth hoped they would never have to tell them anyways, that it would go away.
"They're fine as of now," Annabeth said carefully. "Not any issues, really, but nothing extraordinary."
"That's good," Piper said. "Oh look, Hazel's here."
Hazel walked over to them in a modest lavender sundress that stopped at her calves. It suited her well. Frank was next to her, holding her hand. Piper stood up to greet her and Annabeth followed suit. The second she stood up, her vision went black and spotty. Thankfully, Percy grabbed her arms, balancing her.
"What's wrong?" he asked urgently.
She swayed back and forth for a few seconds before blinking fast. Her vision cleared so she now saw Percy right in front of her.
"Nothing, just got dizzy for a second," she answered.
"If your feeling sick then sit back down-"
"I'm fine, Percy, stop worrying," she laughed.
Percy frowned, "If you insist." He took her hand and led her over to the rest of their friends, where Leo was now also present. He didn't let go the whole time, probably worried she would fall over.
They greeted their friends and walked down towards some Italian restaurant (of course it was Italian, these were Romans) that Jason and Piper said was good. After not that long they were seated at a table next to the window. Piper, Jason, and Leo sat on one side, Frank, Hazel, Percy, and Annabeth on the other.
A waitress came over to them in black uniform. Her hair was slicked back into a tight bun and her eyelashes were so long Annabeth thought they were reaching for Olympus.
"Hi my name's Kalyn, what can I get for you guys to drink?" she asked. All of them ordered water and she dashed off to get it for them.
"So," Hazel started, addressing Annabeth,"How was it?"
"It was good, I'm just glad it's over," she answered.
"All that for a piece of paper," Leo muttered.
"A very expensive piece of paper, thank you," Annabeth jabbed.
Percy gave a short laugh. "Just for it to say 'Anna Elizabeth' on it-"
Annabeth punched him hard on his side.
"What was that for?" Percy winced.
"Don't call me that, it's not my name," she snapped.
Piper blinked, "Is your name actually Anna Elizabeth?"
Annabeth glared at Percy, "See what you did?" she turned back to Piper. "It was my name. Of course when you grow up in the south everyone calls you by your first and middle name so they nicknamed me Annabeth, which I was fine with because I hated my name. Once I met Thalia and Luke I told them my name was Annabeth and I told everyone at camp the same. No one ever called me that except for Frederick-"
"Who's Frederick?" Leo asked.
Annabeth shifted uncomfortably, "My so-called father. Anyways, when we went to change my last name after we got married, I changed my whole name from 'Anna Elizabeth Chase' to 'Annabeth Jackson'. I honestly forgot my real name until then, because no one called me it for 12 years. But because I first started college before that, they had my name down in records as Anna Elizabeth, which was weird because that didn't happen in high school. So when they gave me my diploma, they called me up as Annabeth, but it said Anna Elizabeth Chase on it. They took it back though and changed it, so it's normal now."
"I would've never guessed," Frank admitted.
"Well it's not something I like to go around telling people because it's not my name. And I swear if one of you calls me that I will skin you clean and wear it as a coat," she stated.
"Duly noted," Jason concluded.
~~~~~

Annabeth sat on the hotel bed with Hazel and Piper. Percy had gone to pick up Silena and Luke from Sally not that long ago. She had changed out of her dress into a pair of pajama pants and Percy's sweatshirt. She loved just being able to smell him when she walked around in it.

"Piper, are your wedding plans finished?" Hazel asked.

Piper was currently eating leftover pasta from the restaurant straight out of the box. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she sat criss cross on the bed. "Almost, there are still a few details I need to finish up on but for the most part, it's done," she answered with food in her mouth.

Annabeth stared at her, "Are you really eating pasta in my bed?"

Piper froze with a forkful of pasta in front of her mouth. She shrugged and took another bite. "Yup."

"Are you glad to almost be married?" Hazel continued, ignoring the pasta.

"Oh, for sure. I just want to get married, go on a nice honeymoon with loads of sex, and come back with babies," Piper said. Hazel's face deepened in color from the embarrassment and she started fanning her face.

Annabeth sat on the bed with them. "I wouldn't want to get pregnant that fast if I were you."

"But babies are so precious," Piper gushed.

"Yeah well they're kind of a lot of work," Annabeth reminded.

"Oh that's fine. Then I can have one close in age to yours and they can be best friends then get married," Piper said, doing a little dance.

"Whatever you want I guess, how many does Jason want?" Annabeth asked.

"I think he's fine with however many we end up having, but I also think he'd prefer to wait till he's out of college to have them."

"I don't blame him," Annabeth muttered.

"You sound like you aren't excited to have another baby," Hazel noted.

Annabeth sighed, "I'm not not excited, it just was a little too soon. And whenever I'm pregnant, I can't do anything and people act differently around me. Then Percy treats me like a porcelain doll and-"

Piper laughed, "Percy always treats you like a porcelain doll."

Annabeth smiled, "He does, but that's just him being him. He also wants a lot of kids but I don't really want anymore for a little while. I think..." she paused for a minute, twisting her hoodie. "I think I'm going to get an IUD after this baby."

Piper gasped, "Why? You make the cutest babies though."

"What's that?" Hazel asked.

"It's a form of birth control that can last for 12 years. I wouldn't keep it that long but I don't want to get pregnant after this one for at least 2-3 years."

"Percy's not going to like that," Hazel noted.

"I mean... I could just not tell him..." Annabeth mentioned slowly.

Piper gasped again, "You can't do that to him! He's gonna be praying for more babies while you already are hiding it from him."

"I know, but I don't think he's going to want me to get one," Annabeth said.

"He's gonna be fine with whatever you want," Hazel stated.

"I guess you're right," Annabeth sighed. "I'll think about it later."

"Now that we have covered our lives," Piper started, "Hazelnut, hows Frank?"

"He's fine, I guess. We aren't really that, oh what's the word, intimate with each other as you guys are," she shrugged.

"You don't have to be," Annabeth chided. "Remember that Percy and I are married, and Piper and Jason are engaged. You still have a little ways to go."

"True, sometimes I wish we were a little closer. You and Percy were engaged at my age."

"Correction, you turned 18 not that long ago. We were engaged right before we turned 19, and I've known Percy a lot longer than you've known Frank," Annabeth reminded.

"True," Hazel said.

"And you don't have to be married fast like us," Piper smiled. "You can take it slow." Hazel nodded.

At that moment, Percy walked through the door carrying Silena and Luke. "Take what slow?" he asked.

Piper walked over to him and took Silena. "Nothing, girl talk."

Percy shrugged, "Okay." Hazel walked over to him and took Luke from him.

Annabeth stood up to kiss him, but her vision went dark again. Percy grabbed her and leaned her against him, making sure she wouldn't fall.

He started to feel around her forehead for a temperature. "You don't feel sick, here sit back down. What's wrong?"

Piper snickered from behind her. Annabeth sat back down, "I'm fine, just dizzy."

"You said that earlier though," Percy recalled. "Aren't you anemic?"

"I was for a while and when I was pregnant with Luke and Silena, but Will put me on iron so it went away for a while," she answered.

"I think you might need it again," he said.

"We can worry about it later," Annabeth decided.

Percy looked unsatisfied, but nodded. "I'm going to go find Jason."

"Okay, have fun." Annabeth gave him a short kiss before he left.

"Bye Hazel, bye Pipes," he said, half out the door.

"Bye, Jackson," Piper said.

"Have fun," Hazel smiled.

After he was out, Piper spoke again. "He's cute. Not like 'I like him cute' but he's cute around you."

Annabeth blushed, "He's sweet and good to me."

Hazel nodded, "Good man. Also, how's Leo doing?"

Piper shrugged, "I think he's good. He's gone a little more reserved but he is running his shop with Calypso and I think she makes him happy."

Hazel played with Luke's feet. "I'm glad they have each other, he needed a woman to keep him in check and to keep him company. I'm glad that Calypso found someone at last too, I like her."

"I like her too, Calypso's sweet, I feel bad that she got a bad rep," Piper agreed. They turned to Annabeth, waiting for her to say something.

"I don't have a set opinion on her," Annabeth stated. "Don't think she's... bad but I don't know her well enough to say I like her a lot."

"She's been here for a few years now," Piper reminded. "I thought you knew her well."

"I have mixed opinions on her," Annabeth said cautiously.

"Why?" Hazel asked.

"She cursed me," Annabeth spat.

"...What do you mean cursed you?" Piper asked.

"When I was in... Tartarus... we came across the Arai. When you kill one, they curse you with the curse someone or something had wished on you before. I killed one and I went blind. Percy killed another and all of a sudden he couldn't get close to me. Percy's been to Calypso's island before when he was 14 or 15. Calypso loved him. After Percy chose to leave, she had heard about me, which was in part why he didn't stay. She cursed me to be lonely forever. So, until Bob showed up, I was blind and alone, because of her."

Piper swallowed, "Shit."

"So I have gotten over myself but I still have mixed opinions, now you know why," Annabeth finished. "But I'm glad she makes Leo happy."

"I would have never guessed," Hazel admitted.

"I've moved past it."

They continued to chat and laugh until it was pitch black outside. Eventually, Hazel and Piper left and Annabeth put Luke and Silena down for bed. She thought she heard Percy walk through the door, but she wasn't sure. She was already asleep.
