In which Lynette, the bastard daughter of Ælfric, is given to Earl Kjartan of Dunholme in hopes to keep some semblance of peace among the two Lords. Quiet and reserved Lynette kept to herself out of fear, always obeying and doing as told to do. Through the orchard of thorned flowers that is her mind Sihtric Kjartansson, the bastard and ignored son of Kjartan, managed to cut the thorns and make home between the foliage of mysteries that obscure her.
