POV: Marinette

Butterflies.

I saw butterflies, all flying around two falling people.

Red earrings and a black ring both falling into gloved hands.

A magnificent castle, unique cabins, a boy with a lightning scar.

Enchanting green eyes staring right at me through a mysterious mist, a voice whispering into my ear...

When the forge is taken and the Chosen One roams free,

The butterfly king shall rein over thee.

Only wisdom and Granger can extinguish his flame,

But without the bug and  cat, they'll be no game.

Unite the two realms, only one will fall.

Destroy fox's name, answer the call.

Only when the kwamis are free shall the three heroes defend,

And join the battle, with a miraculous end.

The eyes disappeared, only to be replaced by-

"AAAH!" I screamed, sitting up in bed, sweating.

"What-?!" Adrian jumped out of the other bed, looking around, still in his pajamas, his hair falling into his face. "I'll save you, M'Lady! Plagg, claws-!"

"Adrian, it's alright, I'm ok! It was only a bad dream..."

Adrian relaxed, sitting down next to me.

"Sorry," He blushed, trying to hide his embarassment. "What did you dream about that made you so scared?"

"I... well..." I sighed, putting my head in my hands. "It made no sense, but it still freaked me out."

Adrian put his arm around me. "If your that freaked out, we don't have to discuss ir right now."

"Thank you, Kitty," I teased, leaning againest Adrian's shoulder.

"Anytime, Bugaboo," He smirked, brushing a strand of loose hair behind my ear.

I blushed, cuddling up againest him, drifting off to sleep as soon as I did.

Little did I know of the low purr coming from Adrian, or the black butterfly hovering in front of the window, staring right at us...

I woke up to the sound of water, my phone ringing loudly next to me. Adrian was no where in sight.

He must be in the shower, I guessed.

The room Annabeth had let us use in the Big House is nice, but awfully unessasary.

I grabbed my phone off the bedside table, which was buzzing violently, the name I have been dreading to see pop up on my screen screaming at me, waiting for an answer.

Oh no!

What do I say?! ARGH!

I picked up the phone, my hands shaking, and answered.

"H-Hello?"

Hey girl! Did I wake you?

"Sort of..." I winced. 

Why am I panicking over talking to my best friend in the whole world? 

Oops. Sorry, Mari. Anyway... guess what?

"What?"

You now how you and Adrian are in NYC together, and how Cat Noir and Ladybug showed up there?

Oh no. I see where this is heading.

"Alya, if your thinking that I'm-"

You? Ladybug? No! That's not what I'm thinking at all.

I heard Alya laughing hysterically through my phone. I let out the breath I had no idea I had been holding.

Your too clumsy and scared to be LB. No offense, Marinette.

"None taken," I laughed. "What were you gonna tell me then?"

That I'm in New York!

I dropped my phone.

Marinette? Hello? You there? Hold on, I'll call you back-

"No, no, I'm here, sorry."

Adrian walked out of the bathroom, (in his clothes, thankfully) his hair wet from his shower. He froze when he saw the paniced look on my face.

Ok... anyway, I'll be at your hotel in ten minutes to say hello. See you then!

"Bye, Alya," I hung up, swallowing.

"What was that about?" Adrian asked, shooting  me a worried glance.

"Alya. Our rotel hoom- I mean hotel room! Ten m-minutes." I rambled.

Adrian eyes widened as he realized what I was trying to say.

"Luckily, we have a way to get there fast." He smirked, holing up the hand with his miraculous.

I innerly facepalmed, grinning. "That's the Chaton I know. Let's go!"

KNOCK, KNOCK!

We dove in throught he window just as Ayla knocked on the door. I de-transformed, throwing one of those fancy hotel towels over my head and quickly jumping on the bed, pretending to be playing a game on my phone. Adrian grabbed a random book from his bag, leaning againest the pillows on the other bed.

"Come in," I smiled as Alya entered. "Alya! It's so great to see you again!"

"You too, Marinette," Alya sqeauled, waving to Adrian, who smiled and waved back. "Hey Adrian,"

"How was your flight?"

"Wonderful. Well, except for one thing..." Alya pulled a small box out of her bag. "Some guy bumped nto me and dropped this in my bag. That's strange..." She cocked her head like a cat as she looked at the box more closely.

"What, Alya? What is it?" Adrian asked.

"The box has your names on it. And mine," Alya looked confused.

"Let me see," I asked, taking the box from Alya. 

Sure enough, she was correct. I opened the box, gasping.

"Marinette? Your turning red. Are you okay?" Adrian asked, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"M-M-M-"

"Mmm what, Marinette?" Adrian took the box from me, only to nearly drop it.

"Guys? What's in the box thats causing you both to freak out?"

Alya took the box from us before we could say anything, gazing at it's contents, onny to gasp.

She took the fox miraculous out of the box, staring at us, then back at the box.

"This- this is the thing that gave me powers when Ladybug needed my help defeating my akumatized sisters," Alya gaped. "The only way you guys could know is if-" She froze, staring at me. "No,"

I gulped, nodding. "I am Ladybug, and Adrian is Cat Noir. That's the real reason why we're here in New York."

Alya looked shocked, but she shrugged it off (not before screaming and dropping the fox miraculous, tough). "What's the other reason?"

I glanced at Adrian. He nodded. "Because we believe that this is where Hawkmoth is. We already have made allies of one of the groups of people. The other... well, that's were you come in."

Alya gaped at me, her arms dangling in disbelief.

"So, what do you say? Will you help us, and welcome the return of Rena Rouge?" Adrian asked, picking up the fox miraculous and holding it out to Alya.

Alya put on a brave face. "I accept,"

A/N Whew, wee! That chapter was hard to write. 

Anyway, now that the team has been asembled, let's begin with the ACTION and ADVENTURE (oh, and a good love story, of course)!

In the next chapter, Marinette, Adrian, and Alya look into Leo's disappearence, but not before they have an encounter with a certain wizard...
