Chapter 20
Miranda woke up before dawn and left the camp to scout the road ahead. She mounted her horse and galloped through the edges of the mountains in search of the narrow pass Ferdinand spoke of.
A couple of hours passed and she found a path in the mountain base. She rode through it and observed the walls around her, looking up every so often to make sure that nothing would jump from above and pounce on her. The road seemed smooth until she heard a distant grunting. She stopped her horse and dismounted. With a sword in hand, she carefully approached it.
There in the distance, was a lesser demon with a hunched back and squatting legs that made it appear shorter than an average man. It was holding single-edged knives, one in each hand. The demon spotted her and charged.
Miranda thrust her hand forward and blue fire emerged from her fingertips. The demon wailed in pain, spinning around in an attempt to extinguish it. With one stroke, Miranda put an end to its suffering.
The wail echoed through the walls of the pass before it eventually died. A few seconds later, another echo responded from the other end. Those echos hinted that there are definitely more demons up ahead. Miranda got back on her horse and headed back to the rest of the rebels.
"Miranda!" Atlas called as she rode towards them. "What did you see?"
"The good news: the pass really exist," she said. "The bad news: it's guarded by demons."
"How many?" Atlas asked.
"Don't know," she responded. "At this rate, we'll probably reach it by midday."
"I need volunteers to clear the path!" Atlas shouted to the rebels.
Many people stepped forward, including Pandora and Ferdinand. Some of them were mounted on horseback as they set off. Miranda led the way to the spot where she encountered and killed the demon. Their eyes saw more demons just like the one Miranda killed blocking the road.
The archers fired first, and Miranda led the charge afterwards. The more they fought, the more demons came to reinforce their kind. Miranda had no problem fighting them. Some of the rebels, however, got injured although not too serious - they could still go on. They continued to fight their way through the pass until they reached the other side.
"We made it!" Miranda said. "You all get back to the rest. I'll stay here to make sure no more comes through."
The rebels returned to the travelling party, clearing the path of the dead demons' bodies as they go. The injured were laid on the supply wagons while having their wounds treated. Pandora was among them, sustaining only minor scratches. The party finally made it to the other side by evening. They had a little trouble crossing a river until Miranda and Ferdinand used their magic to lift their supply carts and wagons across before proceeding into the city of Beckinsdale.
The walls of the city were hightened and reinforced with scorpions as they were the closest city to the secret pass. The party was so numerous that they rented a few more inns after fully booking the first one.
When the morning came, they continued their journey east towards their base in the hills, closely resembling the one in Lathrion. The rebels there were very welcoming and helped them settle into their quarters.
After getting a good night's rest from all the journey, the names of the women who agreed to be inseminated were called upon, along with their husbands, if they're married.
Ferdinand started a new routine of helping Pandora train the rebels along with new recruits. Miranda would go out demon hunting, thinking that it was a good sport. She would wake up in the morning, head out, sometimes even coming back late at night.
The rebels continued their fight in the demon imperium by depopulating the demons, assassinating their leaders, freeing their captured supporters and so on and so forth. They let all angels and demons alike hear their voice, saying that they will not stop until mankind is free.

Just one more chapter, adventurers! I really can't thank you enough for your continued support on my story. I certainly hope that you're having a good time. Please don't forget to leave comments and vote! One more chapter, everyone! Final part!
I dedicate this chapter to AgMaRyl, again. As she has dedicated two chapters for me, I think I'll do the same for her. If you're into the Witcher, you should really give her book a go.
