Chapter 2

The morning came and Atlas had breakfast before heading out to look for the boy. He tracked the movements of every child he saw. He would watch children playing and going crazy over some little competition from a safe distance. When he eventually got tired of watching them, he'd find another and do the exact same thing. That went on for hours, even during his lunch time at the tavern he'd regularly look out the window for any sign of him.

The evening came and it was time for the children to go back home. From where he was standing, there was only a grey haired boy in sight. With hopes that he's actually the one, he followed him home. All seemed to go well, nothing suspicious. When all of a sudden, the boy turned around and shot a glare at Atlas. Atlas froze at his sight - he needs to stay behind him. The boy looked back to resume his walk. Then he turned around again and saw that Atlas was still behind him. He'd looked over his shoulder every once in a while before he could confirm he was indeed being followed.

Tired of it, the boy finally walked up to ask his stalker a question that would relieve his curiosity and perhaps even frustration. "Why do you follow me, Mister?"

"I'm just minding my business, boy," Atlas replied.

"Very well then, have a pleasant evening," the boy walked away. But instead of treading on his path, he walked the opposite direction from where he was originally walking through. He shot a glare over his shoulder and saw that the black man was still watching him. He had confirmed his suspicion, he was being watched. He continued to walk along the path, Atlas not far behind him. He turned to an alley. But by the time Atlas looked to see the boy, he had already vanished.

There was no place to hide there, the alley was clean. And considering how far that alley went, there was no way he could've sprinted that fast to the other end without being seen. That was it. That was the indicator. He had found the cambion.

He rushed back to the inn and turned on his hologram to call Perdita. "Perdita, good news. I've found him. It's true, the cambion is here in Masonmore."

Perdita smiled. They're one step closer to getting Miranda back. "May I see him?"

"No, I haven't gotten him on our side yet. I lost him when I was tracking him. But I did get a good look of his face." Atlas thought for a while. "I might need some extra help to get him though. Are there any of our allies here in this city?"

"None that I know of."

"Very well, Perdita. I'll see you soon." Atlas ended the call. He laid himself to bed beginning to strategize how he'll reach him.
