Eight - Annabelle

"Who are you?" The boy breathed, eyes going wide.

"Princess Annabelle of the Fourth Kingdom," she murmured, doing her best to curtsy. She glanced at his sword and smiled inwardly. It was perfect for cutting off the dragon's head.

"Prince Erik, of the Sixth," he replied, bowing low. "What are you doing out here, Princess?"

"Nothing important. But you, Prince Erik, you seem terribly important." Annabelle walked forward slowly, her green eyes gazing into the prince's.

"I'm off to slay the dragon."

"You must be very courageous," Annabelle murmured, tilting her head.

"It's my job to be brave and help. Killing dragons, embarking on great adventures...saving princesses..." He smirked at her.

The princess gave him a flirty smile and advanced. "Well I think I'm rather brave..." she purred. "After all, you're the most intimidating man I've ever met."

"That's quite the compliment from you, Princess," he murmured silkily, reaching out and tucking one of her blonde locks behind an ear. She batted her eyes slowly at him, smirking.

"Look at us, the prince and a princess. Some things are meant to be, aren't they?" she whispered, leaning forward against him. His lip curled into a smile and he slid his hands down to her waist before tugging her even closer, so that there was almost no space between them.

"This was always meant to be," he said, lips delicately brushing hers. Annabelle took that as her cue and pressed herself completely against him before closing her eyes and kissing Erik.

Her mouth was hot against his as he kissed her back. Her hands gripped the front of his jacket before stealthily creeping lower to his waist. As for Erik, he trailed upwards until he cupped her face gently in his hands. The kissing continued for several minutes as the two clung to each other.

"I'm going to have to take you back to the castle with me," Erik murmured against her lips. "Would you like that, love?" He asked.

Annabelle stopped only long enough to breathe and whisper, "Very." Erik smiled and pressed his lips against hers again. Now taking the lead, he walked them over to several bales of hay, still kissing, and hoisted her up so she was sitting down. His fingers gently flitted her neck, then her shoulders. He traced her small golden necklace before returning to her face and curling his fingers into her soft golden hair. Annabelle kissed him harder as her hands slid down to his belt, and, more importantly, his sword.

Finally, Annabelle's hand found it's prize. With a shout of triumph, Annabelle jumped away, pulling his longsword with her. She held it delicately it her hand, testing the balance and weight. The steel flashed through the air as she waved it.

"Finely made...not too fancy...it's terribly well balanced. I'm afraid I'm going to be keeping this," she decided, tossing the sword to her left hand.

"Ah, my love, give it back now. I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself," Erik said with an all knowing smirk.

"First, no, it's mine now. Second, the only one who is getting hurt will be you. And thirdly, no one calls me love!" Annabelle shouted and lunged forward. The prince let out a shriek and jumped back.

The princess smiled and waved the sword around, saying, "Yes, I'll chop off your fingers first, one by one so you'll never touch me again, then I'll cut your tongue out so you'll never call me love or even kiss me. Next I'll-"

Annabelle never finished, because a bag came over her head, silencing her.
