Chapter Eleven, Heaven and Hell

Chapter Eleven, Heaven and Hell

Sam, Harley and Dean were currently in a bar trying to con some men out of their cash by playing pool. Well, Harley was. She was acting like a drunk, ditzy blonde, and these idiots were falling for it; hook, line and sinker. Although, one was getting a little too handsy which is when Dean decided to step in.
"Daisy! Oi! Get your hands off my sister! She's a little too sauced to be making bets and certainly too sauced to go anywhere with you!" Dean hissed, wrapping his arm around Harley's shoulders.

The handsy man, Brian, shook his head.
"She insisted, and I was only -"
Dean glared at him, wrapping his jacket around her shoulders and partially covering Harley's short burgundy dress that had a low v-neck and was partially backless.
"Yeah, but you've already taken... what? Three bills off her?" Dean asked.
"Hey. Shut up, Mike." Harley snapped, using their fake names for each other. "I'm fine."
"No, you're not fine. You're drunk! And I'm trying to protect you." Dean yelled.

"Let's make it five hundred!" Harley purred seductively to Brian.
"Five hundred?" Dean asked shocked, Sam who was sitting at the bar stared at his sister in shock.
"Sure." Brian smirked. "Anything for a pretty lady." Harley put a stack of money on the table. "Five hundred. Your break." Brian said, trying to subtly look down the front of Harley's dress but stopped at Dean's furious glare, and instead set up the balls and removed the rack. Harley and Dean smirked at each other and sent a wink at Sam when Brian wasn't looking.

Brian looked up at Harley and nodded to shoot. Immediately Harley took her shot and sunk several of the balls at once. Brian looked confused and furious all at once and tried to beat Harley but she wiped the floor with him in a matter of minutes, and Dean pocketed the nearly six hundred dollars that Harley had won.
"Maybe you won't objectify women now, hey Brian?" Harley asked, smirking at them, as she walked away with Dean's arm around her shoulders. Leaving behind the stumped men. The pair looked around the crowded bar for Sam and found him talking to Ruby.

'Of course he is.' Harley thought with a scoff.
"Well, you got a lot of nerve showing up anywhere near Harley and I." Dean snarled at Ruby.
"I have some info, and then I'm gone." Ruby said.
"What is it?" Sam asked.
"I'm hearing a few whispers." She replied.
"Oh, great - Demon whispers.... How reliable." Harley said sarcastically.

"Girl named Anna Milton escaped from a locked ward yesterday. The Demons seem pretty keen on finding her. Apparently, some real heavy hitters are turning out for the Easter-hunt." Ruby explained.
"Why? Who is she?" Sam asked.
"I have no idea." Ruby shrugged. "But I'm thinking that she's important, because the order is to capture her alive. I just figured that whatever the deal is, you might want to find this girl before they do."
"Look, maybe we should check this out." Sam shrugged, looking nervously at his siblings.

"Actually, we're working a case, but thanks." Dean snarled.
"What case?" Ruby asked.
"I don't see how that's any concern of yours." Harley returned, fake smiling at the Demon. Ruby rolled her eyes.
"Sounds scary." She mocked.
"Yeah, well, it sure ain't goose-chasing after some chick who, for all we know, doesn't even exist, just because you say she's important. And we sure ain't taking so-called cases from the Demon who corrupted our brother." Dean said, glaring at her. Ruby shrugged.

"I'm just delivering the news. You can do whatever you want with it. As far as I'm concerned, I told you, I'm done." She turned to leave but Sam grabbed her arm.
"Sam, let her go! We don't need anything from her and you certainly don't. In fact, you both need to stay away from each other." Harley said angrily, but Sam ignored her.
"Wait. This hospital Anna escaped from... it got a name?" Sam asked.
"Connor Beverley Behavioural Medicine Centre." Ruby said, as she pulled her arm away and finally left.

***

As Dean drove, Sam made several calls to find out more information about Anna.

"Can I get a copy of the Missing Persons Report?" Sam asked.
(...)
"Great."
(...)
"Okay, thanks." He said as he hung up. "Well, Anna Milton's definitely real." Dean and Harley shook their heads.

"Doesn't mean the case is real." They said together.
"Besides, that hospital's a three day drive." Dean added.
"We've driven further for less, Dean." Sam persuaded them. Dean and Harley shook their heads again. "You both got something to say, say it."
"Oh, we're saying it... this sucks." Dean snapped, knowing Harley felt the same.
"You're not pissed we're going after the girl. You're both pissed Ruby brought us it." Sam stated.

"Right cause as far as you're concerned, the Hell-bitch is practically family." Harley snapped.
"Something Major must have happened when you ditched Harley and I was downstairs, cause we joined you again and found said Demon in her underwear in your hotel room." Dean added darkly.
"I've told you both, she helped me go after Lilith." Sam sighed. Dean and Harley scoffed knowing there was more to it.

"Well, thanks for the thumbnail... real kind of you. You want to fill in a little detail?" Dean asked sarcastically.
"Sure, Dean, Harley, let's trade stories. Either of you first. How was Hell? How was time with Gabriel?" Sam asked sarcastically. "Don't spare the details." Dean and Harley glared at Sam, ignoring him for the rest of the journey.

***

When they talked to Anna's Psychologist, she believed Anna had the escape planned. The orderly had no memory of what happened, but they think she hid behind the door and knocked him out. Which still seemed unlikely because the guy had eighty pounds on her. The Psychologist also explained that Anna had only gotten sick two months prior, she was happy, well adjusted, a journalism Major and she had a lot of friends. She believed Anna had schizophrenia and was having delusions about Demons.

She also gave the siblings a sketchbook that contained drawings about the seals, including Samhain. After learning about how Anna's father was a deacon in a church, they drove to Anna's parents' house only to find out the Demons had beaten them there and Anna's parents were killed brutally.
"All right, so I'm Girl Interrupted." Dean sighed, looking through a stack of mail. "And I know the score of the apocalypse, just busted out of the nut-box... possibly using superpowers, by the way - where do I go?"

Harley looked at some family photos, and then Sam picked one up.
"Hey, you got those sketches from Anna's notebook?" He asked.
"Yeah." Harley said, pulling them out.
"Let me see 'em." Sam said, and then grabbed the drawing. "Check this out." He compared one of the drawings to a stained glass window in one of the family photos.

"She was drawing the window of her church." Dean said.
"Over and over." Sam said, flipping through the sketchbook revealing more drawings. "If you were religious, scared, and had Demons in your ass, where would you go to feel safe?" He asked.

***

At the church, Sam, Dean and Harley cautiously walked up the stairs to the attic with their guns drawn. As they reached the top Sam noticed something.
"Dean, Harley." He whispered, pointing to someone hiding behind a stained glass wall. "Anna?" The three siblings lowered their guns. "We're not gonna hurt you. We're here to help. My name's Sam. This is my brother Dean and our sister Harley." A redheaded woman walked out from behind the glass.

"Sam? Not Sam Winchester?" She asked.
"Uh, yeah." Sam replied hesitantly.
"The Harlene Winchester and The Dean Winchester?" She asked again.
"I guess." Dean and Harley replied confused.
"It's really you. Oh, my god." Anna stepped towards Harley and Dean. "The Angels talk about you both all the time."
"Wait," said Harley. "You're the reason my headaches and visions have been getting worse recently?"

"Yes. I'm sorry about that - you, Harley, are the most powerful Prophet of the Lord they've had. And you, Dean, you were in Hell, but Castiel pulled you out. Some of them think you both can help save us." She looked at Sam. "And some of them don't like you at all and are watching you closely." She then smiled at them all. "They talk about you all the time lately. I feel like I know you."
"So, you talk to Angels? Or, do you get visions like Rose?" Dean asked, but Anna shook her head.

"Oh, no. Not like Harley. And to talk to them they'd have to know I exist. I just kind of... overhear them."
"They know you exist, all right." Harley revealed, clutching her head with one hand while Dean supported his baby sister looking concerned. "They want you as bad if not more, then the Demons do, and not in a good way." Harley revealed, as she tried to make sense of her vision but all she got was Angel light, a tree, a barn and Castiel.
"So, what do you mean, you overhear them?" Sam asked, trying to distract Anna who now looked rather frightened.

"Yeah, they talk, and sometimes I just - hear them in my head." Anna explained.
"Did you just then?" Dean asked, but again Anna shook her head.
"No I didn't. But a lot of the time I do. And I can't shut them out, there are so many of them."
"So, they lock you up for no reason thinking you had what they falsely diagnosed you with when really, you were just tuning into Angel radio?" Harley asked.
"Like Rose does but to a lesser extent?" Dean added, causing Anna to smile at them both.
"Yes. Thank you." She said relieved.

"Anna, when did the voices start? Do you remember?" Sam asked. She nodded.
"I can tell you exactly... September 18th."
"The day I got out of Hell, and when Rosie had that vision." Dean said.
"First words I heard, clear as a bell... 'Dean Winchester is saved and shall be reunited with the powerful Prophet of the Lord, Harlene Winchester'." Anna revealed. Dean looked at his siblings shocked.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"It's above my pay grade, man." Sam scoffed.

"Well, at least we know why the Demons want you so bad. They get a hold of you or Rosie, and they can hear everything the other side's cooking. You're a 1-900 Angel." Dean said.
"Hey, um, do you know... are my parents okay?" Anna asked. "I- I didn't go home - I was afraid."
"Anna..." Harley started sorrowfully, but was interrupted as the door shut behind them causing them to spin around and low and behold; it was Ruby.
"You got the girl. Good, let's go." She said urgently.

"Her face." Anna gasped horrified, stumbling backwards.
"It's okay. She's here to help." Sam assured, but Harley and Dean rolled their eyes not buying it.
"Yeah, right." Harley and Dean scoffed.
"We have to hurry." Ruby urged.
"Why?" Dean demanded.
"Because a Demon's coming... big timer." Ruby urged. "We can fight later, Dean."
"Well, how convenient is that?" Harley scoffed. "You showing up right when we find Anna with some big wig on your tail?"
"I didn't bring him here. You did." Ruby denied.
"What?" Dean asked, confused.

"He followed you from the girl's house. We got to go now." Ruby said.
"Guys..." Sam said, his voice wavering slightly as he pointed up to the statue of the Virgin Mary that now had blood seeping out of its eyes.
"It's too late. He's here." Ruby said, with fear in her voice. Sam took Anna by the arm and brought her to the closet at the back of the attic.
"Okay, stay in here. Don't move."
"Okay." Anna whispered. Sam shut the door and walked back over to his siblings in the centre of the room, pulling out a flask of Holy water as he did.

"No, Sam, you got to pull him right away." Ruby urged.
"Whoa, hold on a sec." Dean protested.
"Now's not the time to bellyache about Sam going to the dark side. He does his thing, he exercises that Demon, or we die." Ruby said firmly.
As Sam tucked the flask away, the door broke open, and a man stepped in with a snarl. Sam put his hand up, attempting to exorcise the Demon like Harley and Dean saw him do to Samhain and others. The Demon's eyes rolled back into his head revealing just the whites of his eyes, as he grabbed his throat and coughed.

"You don't have the juice to take me on, Sam." He flung Sam across the room with his mind and sent him flying through the stair rails and out of the attic. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Harlene Winchester, the powerful Prophet of the Lord." The Demon said or rather, purred, only to splutter as Harley chucked Holy water in his face.
"Don't talk to her!" Dean growled, swinging the Demon-knife at him, only to be slammed into one pillar and Harley into the wall when she went to attack him.

"Hello again Dean." The Demon purred, confusing Harley, but she noticed Sam creep up behind the Demon and stabbed him in the chest causing him to become distracted enough to let Harley and Dean go. Seeing no alternative the three siblings jumped out of the window onto the flat roof to make their escape to the motel.

***

At the motel the three siblings stitched each other up and put back Dean and Harley's dislocated shoulders while trying to think of their next move. Until Ruby in the form of a maid turned up and told them where to go but not to take the Impala.

***

Half an hour later, the Winchesters arrived at the wooden cabin in the middle of the woods. Sam knocked on the door which Ruby opened.
"Glad you could make it." She said almost condescendingly.
"Yeah, thanks." Sam muttered.
"Harley, are you sure you're okay? I didn't miss any injuries?" Dean asked, turning and pulling Harley into a hug.
"I'm fine, Dee." Harley assured, hugging her brother tightly. "Just left with bruised ribs is all. Same as you."
"Anna, are you okay?" Sam asked.

"Yeah. I think so. Ruby's not like other Demons. She saved my life." Anna said with a small smile.
"Yeah, I hear she does that." Dean muttered, as he turned to Ruby. "I guess - ya know..."
"What?" Ruby asked.
"I guess I owe you.... we owe you for Sam. And I just wanted... ya know..." Dean sighed.
"Don't strain yourself." Ruby said, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Okay then. Is that moment over?" Dean asked, Ruby nodded.
"Good, cause that was awkward." Harley muttered.

"Hey, Sam, you think it'd be safe to make a quick call, just to tell my parents I'm okay? They must be freaking out." Anna asked.
"Uh..." Sam said nervously, looking over at Dean and Harley, the latter who came to sit on the sofa besides Anna wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"What?" Anna asked, confused.
"Anna, I'm really sorry... your parents..." Harley said before she was interrupted.
"What about them?" Anna asked, starting to tear up.

"I'm really sorry they didn't make it." Harley said sadly and as gently as she could.
"NO! No, they're not... Why is this happening to me?!" Anna yelled.
"I don't know." Sam muttered, sitting on her other side when Harley suddenly went into a vision. When she came out both she and Anna looked up at the ceiling, Anna was terrified.
"The Angels are coming." Harley revealed, as the lights started to flicker.
"Back room." Dean said, grabbing Anna and leading her to the bedroom and closed the door once she was in.

"Where's the knife?" Ruby asked, as she rifled through Dean's rucksack.
"Uh... about that." Dean said, chuckling nervously.
"You're kidding!" Ruby snarled.
"Hey, don't look at us." Harley shrugged.
"Thanks a lot." Sam muttered, rolling his eyes.
"Great. Just peachy. Impeccable timing, guys, really." Ruby scoffed angrily.

Suddenly the door started rattling before it was suddenly flung open. The four of them jumped back, ready to fight. When Castiel and Uriel walked in, although the Winchester's knew them, Harley's latest vision made them more tense while Ruby's eyes turned black.
"Please tell me Harley's visions weren't true and your here to help? We've been having Demon problems all day." Dean asked.

"We can see that." Uriel said, gesturing to Ruby. "You want to explain why you have that stain in the room? When you know all of Hell wants your sister."
"We're here for Anna." Castiel interrupted.
"So, my visions were true despite being vague and confusing." Harley surmised.
"Stop talking, and give her to us." Uriel demanded.

"Are you gonna help her?" Sam asked.
"No, she has to die." Castiel stated.
"Why?!" Sam snapped. Uriel stepped threateningly towards them.
"Out of the way!"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Dean said, shaking his head. "Okay, I know she's tapping your Angel radio and only Prophets can hear them but there's no reason to gank her."
"Don't worry. I'll kill her gentle." Uriel said, smiling creepily.

"You're some heartless sons of bitches, you know that?!" Harley snarled.
"As a matter of fact, we are. And?" Castiel asked.
"And?" Sam demanded. "Anna's an innocent girl!"
"She's far from innocent!" Castiel denied.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Sam asked.
"It means she's worse than this abomination you've been screwing. Now give us the girl!" Uriel demanded.
"Sorry. Get yourself another one. Try JDate." Dean said sarcastically.

"Who's gonna stop us? You three? Or this Demon whore?" Uriel asked, before he suddenly grabbed Ruby and whipped her across the room and into the window. He grabbed her arm and went to attack her when Dean and Harley came up behind him and grabbed him. While Castiel stepped intimidatingly towards Sam.
"Cas, stop... please." Sam begged, stepping away but Castiel touched his forehead, and he immediately dropped to the floor unconscious.

As Uriel went to attack Harley and Dean a bright white light filled the cabin causing the whole cabin to rumble. When the light disappeared Castiel and Uriel were gone. A beat passed before they threw open the door to the back room to see Anna bleeding heavily, on the point of collapse and a sigil on the mirror in blood.
"Anna. Anna! What happened!?" Dean asked urgently, running over to her and wrapping her wrists.
"Are they - are they gone?" Anna asked.
"Did you kill them?" Dean asked.
"No. I sent them away... far away." Anna said weakly.

"You want to tell us how?" Harley asked, ignoring her phone ringing in her pocket for the moment. She knew it was Gabriel as she hadn't spoken to him all day and he'd probably heard all this on Angel-radio, but she wasn't sure it was safe to talk to him yet, especially not with Ruby around.
Anna shrugged and looked at the symbol she had drawn.
"That just popped into my head. I don't know how I did it. I just did it."
Sam nodded to Harley and Dean to leave the room to talk to him.

"What do you think?" Harley asked.
"I think Anna's getting more interesting by the second." Sam said. Dean nodded.
"Yeah, I agree. And what did they mean by 'she's not innocent'?"
"It seems like they want her badly, and not just because of the Angel radio thing. I mean, that blood spell... that's some serious crap, man." Sam sighed.
"Something is definitely going on with her. If only my visions weren't so vague and confusing right now." Harley sighed.
"Hey, it's not your fault, Rosie." Dean said firmly.

"See what you can find out." Dean added to Sam, causing the middle Winchester to furrow his brow.
"What are you two gonna do?" Sam asked.
"Anna may have sent the Angels to the outfield, but sooner or later, they're gonna be back and they're gonna be pissed. Plus, we got Demons up our arses and I need Rosie safe. I know you can damn well fight, Rosie I taught you, but for my peace of mind can we go somewhere safe, please?" Dean asked when Harley went to argue.
"Okay." Harley agreed, smiling when Dean smiled at her and kissed her forehead.
"I know you can't speak to him yet, but text him so he knows you're safe." Dean told her, before leaving to tell Anna the plan.

Harley: Hey babe. I'm sorry I haven't answered, been fighting Demons and your brothers all day. Heading to Bobby's where it'll be safe. Love you xxx

Immediately Harley got a text back as soon as she'd sent it, as if Gabriel was constantly checking his phone.

Gabriel: Thank Loki, you're safe, baby. I've been so worried about you. When I heard what was  happening I didn't know what to think. I'm sorry about my brothers. I swear if they've hurt you I'll smite them. I'll come to Bobby's check on you, Dean... and Sam. I love you too xxx

Harley: As much as I want you there Sam's invited Ruby there and I don't want you risking yourself more than you REALLY have to. Dean and I are okay and so is Sam. Nothing we can't handle xxx

Gabriel: Why must she be there?! I mean seriously! As soon as this is over I'm heading straight to you xxx

***

As soon as they arrived at Bobby's they headed straight for the panic room where Anna curled up on one of the recliners Bobby had in there.
"Iron walls drenched in salt. Demons can't even touch it." Harley explained, as Anna looked around nervously.
"Which I find racist, by the way." Ruby said from outside the room.
"Write to your congressman." Dean smiled at her.
"Here." Ruby said, tossing a few bags at Dean and Harley.
"Hex bags?" Harley asked.

"Extra crunchy. They'll hide us from Angels, Demons, basically all corners." Ruby explained.
"Thanks Ruby." Dean said, shocking her. "Don't lose this." He said to Anna, handing her a Hex bag. "So, Anna, what's playing on Angel radio? Anything useful?"
"It's quiet. Dead silence." Anna replied.
"Good." Harley said sarcastically. "That's not at all troubling."
"We're in trouble, huh? Are you guys scared?"Anna asked.
"Nah."
"Nope." Dean and Harley replied together.
"Hey, Dean! Harley!" Sam shouted from upstairs.
"Just stay here, okay?" He asked Anna. Harley turned to Ruby.
"Keep an eye on her."

Upstairs, Sam was showing a file to Harley and Dean not noticing Ruby and Anna enter the living room.
"When she was two and a half, she'd get hysterical any time her Dad got close. She was convinced that he wasn't her real Daddy."
"That's heavy for a two year old." Harley muttered.
"Who was? The plumber, hmm?" Dean asked.
"Dude, you're confusing reality with porn again." Sam said, rolling his eyes. "Look, Anna didn't say she just kept repeating that this real father of hers was mad. Very mad... like he wanted to kill her mad."

"That is definitely too heavy for a two year old." Dean agreed.
"Well, she saw a kid's shrink, got better, and grew up normal." Sam said.
"Until now. So, what's she hiding?" Dean wondered, shrugging his shoulders.
"Why don't you just ask me to my face!" Anna asked angrily, causing the three siblings to jump and turn around.
"Nice job watching her." Dean scoffed at Ruby.
"I'm watching her." Ruby said, shrugging causing Dean and Harley to roll their eyes.

"No. You're right, Anna. Is there anything you want to tell us?" Sam asked.
"About what?" Anna snapped.
"The Angels said you were guilty of something. Why would they say that?" Harley asked gently.
"You tell me. Tell me why my life has been levelled... why my parents are dead?" Anna shook her head. "I don't know, I swear. I would give anything to know."
"Okay. Then let's find out." Sam said.
"How?" Anna asked, confused.

***

An hour later, Dean arrived back at Bobby's with Pamela.
"We're here!" Dean shouted, as he led Pamela down the steps to the panic room where everyone waited.
"Pamela, hey!" Sam said, running over to hug her.
"Hi grumpy." Pamela said, groping Sam's ass before she turned and hugged Harley.
"Hi sweetheart. Your brothers are still giving you grief about dating." She stated.
"Hey, Pamela. Don't you know it." Harley sighed.

"Don't worry us girls gotta stick together and anymore grief and I'll sort 'em out." Pamela said, causing Harley to laugh.
"By the way, I knew it was you grumpy because of that perky little ass of yours. You could bounce a nickel off that thing." Pamela said to Sam. "Same way I know that's a Demon and that poor girl is Anna and that you've been eyeing my rack." She added.
"Uh- Uh- Uh-" Sam stuttered.
"Don't sweat it, kiddo. I still have more senses than most." Pamela laughed.

"Got it." Sam mumbled awkwardly.
"Hey Anna." Pamela said, walking over and grabbing her hands. "How are you? I'm Pamela."
"Hi." Anna said, smiling and becoming more relaxed.
"Dean told me what's been going on. I'm excited to help." Pamela told her, smiling.
"Oh. That's nice of you." Anna said.
"Oh, well, not really." Pamela shrugged. "Any chance I can dick over an Angel, I'm taking it."

"Why?" Anna asked curiously.
"They stole something from me." Pamela said, removing her sunglasses to reveal her white eyes. "Demon-y, I know. But they're just plastic and they're good for business. Makes me look extra Psychic, don't ya think?" She laughed, as she put the sunglasses back on. "Now, how about you tell me what your deal is?" She put her hand around Anna's and then walked back into the panic room. "Hmm? Don't worry." She had Anna lay down on the bed and told her to try to relax.

"Nice and relaxed. Now, I'm going to count down from five to zero. When I'm at zero, you'll be in a deep state of hypnosis. As I count down, just go deeper and deeper, okay?" Pamela explained, before she started to count. "Five... four... three... two... one. Deep sleep - deep sleep. Every muscle is calm and relaxed. Can you hear me?"
"I can hear you." Anna replied robotically.
"Now, Anna, tell me... how can you hear the Angels? How did you work that spell?" Pamela asked.
"I don't know, I just did." Anna replied.
"Your father, what's his name?" Pamela asked.

"Rich Milton." said Anna.
"All right." Pamela nodded. "But I want you to look further back... when you were very young... just a couple of years old."
"I don't want to." Anna said, frightened, as she started to fidget slightly.
"It'll be okay." Pamela assured her gently. "Anna, just one look... that's all we need."
"No!" Anna stated, squirming more but her eyes were still closed.

"What's your Dad's name? Your real Dad -why is he angry at you?" Pamela asked.
"No! No! No!" Anna screamed.
"Calm down!" Pamela coaxed gently.
"He's gonna kill me!" Anna yelled.
"Anna, you're safe." Pamela assured her.
"NO!" Anna screamed, suddenly sitting up with her eyes still closed. As she screamed the lights exploded and the panic room door slammed shut, locking Ruby out.
"Calm down." Pamela said more firmly.

"He's gonna kill me!" Anna screamed.
"It's all right, Anna." Pamela coaxed.
"Anna?" Dean asked, walking over to her and ignoring Harley trying to stop him.
"Dean, don't!" Pamela warned, putting her hand up to him.
Anna suddenly grabbed him and threw him across the room. Pamela quickly stood up and put her hand to Anna's forehead.
"Wake in one, two, three, four, five." Anna laid back down, now relaxed. "Anna. Anna? Are you all right?" Pamela asked.

"Thank you, Pamela." Anna said, as she slowly sat up. "That helps a lot. I remember now."
"Remember what?" Sam asked.
"Who I am." Anna stated.
"I'll bite." Dean said, accepting Harley's hand to help him up. "Who are you?" He asked.
"I'm an Angel." said Anna, dropping the bombshell.

***

The group of six left the panic room and headed to Bobby's library to have Anna explain what the hell is going on.
"Don't be afraid, I'm not like the others." Anna assured them.
"I don't find that very reassuring." Ruby said, shaking her head.
"Neither do I." Pamela stated.
"So, Castiel and Uriel. They're the ones that came for me?" Anna asked.
"You know them?" Sam asked.
"We were kind of in the same foxhole." Anna revealed.

"So, what, they were your bosses?" Harley asked.
"Try the other way around." Anna said.
"Look at you." Dean said with raised eyebrows.
"But now they want to kill you?" Pamela asked.
"Orders are orders. I'm sure I have a death sentence on my head."
"Why?" Harley asked, causing Anna to sigh.
"I disobeyed... which, for us, is about the worst thing you can do. I fell."
"Meaning?" Dean asked, confused.
"She fell to Earth, became human." Pamela explained.

"Wait a minute." Sam said, shaking his head. "I don't understand. So, Angels can just become human?"
"Yes." Anna agreed. "It kinda hurts. Try cutting your kidney out with a butter knife. That kind of hurt and I ripped out my grace."
"Come again?" Dean asked, raising his eyebrows.
"It's energy. Like pure energy and can create anything... like the large and beautiful oak tree I saw in my vision." Harley realised.
"Yes." Anna agreed. "I hacked it out and fell. My mother, Amy, couldn't get pregnant. Always called me her little miracle. She had no idea how right she was." Anna explained.

"So, you just forgot you were God's little Power Ranger?" Dean asked.
"The older I got, the longer I was human, yeah." Anna agreed.
"I don't think you all appreciate how completely screwed we are." Ruby complained.
"Ruby's right. Heaven wants me dead." Anna agreed.
"And Hell just wants her, slightly more than Harley, for the time being at least." Ruby said. "A flesh-and-blood Angel that you can question, torture, that bleeds. Sister, you're the Stanley Cup. And sooner or later, Heaven or Hell, they're gonna find you."
"I know. And that's why I'm gonna get it back." Anna said.

"What?" Sam asked.
"My grace." Anna said.
"You can do that?" Dean asked.
"If I can find the tree." Anna shrugged.
"So, what, you're just gonna take some divine bong hit, and Shazam, you're Roma Downey?" Dean asked.
"Something like that." Anna said.
"All right." Harley nodded. "Where is it? I don't always get locations."
"I don't know. I lost track as I was falling about 10,000 miles per hour at the time." Anna confessed.

"Wait. You mean falling, like literally?" Fam asked.
"Yes." Anna confirmed.
"Like the way a human eye can see?" Sam asked.
"Like a comet, maybe, or a meteor." Harley realised.
"Why do you ask?" Anna asked, confused.

***

Harley hadn't stayed up for the search through the library and the internet as she'd gone to bed exhausted from the migraines caused by the visions and all the fighting. When she woke up the next morning, showered and dressed in blue jeans, a red crop hoodie, black combat boots, black stud earrings, and her bracelet. She applied some minimal makeup and put her hair into a high ponytail-braid; Sam was showing Dean some maps and articles in the kitchen.

"Union, Kentucky. Found some accounts of a miracle." Sam explained.
"Yeah?" Harley asked, announcing her presence.
"Rosie, are you okay?" Dean asked.
"I'm fine, Dee." Harley assured him, kissing his cheek and smiling at Sam.
"Yeah." Sam nodded, getting back on track. "In '85, there was an empty field outside of town. Six months later, there was a full grown oak. They say it looks like a century old, at least."
"Anna, what do you think?" Dean asked.
"The grace where it hit, it could have done something like that, easy. It's pure creation." Anna explained.

As Dean drove Harley sat in between her brothers in the front while Anna sat in the back with Ruby which made Dean laugh.
"What?" Ruby snapped. Dean shook his head, smirking at her.
"Nothing. It's just an Angel and a Demon in the backseat. It's like a setup to a bad joke... or a Penthouse Forum letter."
"Dude, reality not porn." Sam argued.
"You call this reality?" Dean asked, which Sam had no answer to.

Finally, they made it to Union, Kentucky, where they spotted a gorgeous, giant tree in the middle of an open field.
"It's beautiful." Harley and Dean said, astonished. If an Angel like Anna could do this, what could an Archangel like Gabriel do?
"It's definitely where the grace touched down. I can feel it." Anna said.
"Are you ready to do this?" Dean asked.
"Not really." Anna said nervously, as they walked up to the three, Anna in the lead.

"Anna, what are we even looking for?" Harley asked. Anna placed her hand on the tree trunk and sighed.
"It doesn't matter. It is not here anymore. Someone took it."

As it was too far to drive back to Bobby's in Sioux Falls, they found a barn to hide out in to figure out their next move.
"We still got the Hex bags, I say we head back to the panic room." Dean said, casting a worried look at Harley as he paced. It always made Harley anxious whenever her brothers were scared, though mainly Dean as of late, as Sam still has made hardly any effort to fix things between them.
"What? Forever?" Ruby asked.
"I'm just thinking out loud!" Dean yelled.

"Oh, you call that thinking?" Ruby asked sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
"Well, I don't see you offering any suggestions!" Harley snapped defending Dean, as she and Dean got in Ruby's face.
"Hey! Hey, hey! Stop it!" Sam yelled, running up to them.
"Anna's grace is gone. You understand? Ruby asked. "She can't protect us. We can't fight Heaven and Hell. One side, maybe, but not both. Not at once."
"Um...guys? The Angels are talking again." Anna said uncertainty.

"What are they saying?" Sam asked.
"It's weird... like a recording... a loop... it says, 'Dean and Harlene Winchester give us Anna by midnight, or -'"
"Or what?" Dean asked nervously.
"'Or we kill Harlene and hurl Dean back to damnation.'" Anna said, causing Dean to gulp and Harley to tightly grip Dean's hand.
"Anna, do you know of any weapon that works on Angels?" Sam asked urgently.
"To what? To kill them?" Anna asked, causing Sam to nod.
"Nothing we could get to... not right now." Anna said apologetically.

"Okay, wait, wait. I say we call Bobby and get him back from hedonism." Dean said.
"Dean, what's he gonna tell us that we don't already know?" Sam asked.
"I don't know, but we have to think of something!" Dean shouted. "Our baby sister's life is on the line, Sam! Not just mine."

After a couple of hours of research, Sam and Harley fell asleep next to each other on the sofa, and when they woke up, Ruby was gone. The four of them waited for something, anything to happen while they waited for her to come back, but it had been hours, and she hadn't shown up.
"I don't know, man. Where's Ruby?" Sam asked, as he paced around the barn.
"Hey, she's your Hell buddy." Dean shrugged, taking a gulp of his flask before passing it to Harley who took a swig.

"Little early for that, isn't it?" Anna asked.
"It's 2am somewhere." Harley shrugged.
"You okay?" Dean and Harley asked each other at the same time, before laughing a little and nodding.

Suddenly, the barn doors blasted open, and in barged Castiel and Uriel.
"Hello Anna. It's good to see you." Castiel said.
"How? How did you find us?" Sam asked. Castiel turned to Dean, which caused Sam and Harley to look at him where they found nothing but guilt on his face.
"Dean?" Sam asked, shocked.
"I'm sorry." Dean apologised to Anna.
"Why?" Harley asked nonjudgmentally.

"Because they gave him a choice," Anna explained. "They either kill me... or kill one or both of you. I know how their minds work." She walked up to Dean and kissed him. "You did the best you could. I forgive you so don't be harsh on yourself or I'll ask Harley to kick your arse as I know she can." Dean laughed a little at that and nodded as it was true. "Okay. No more tricks. No more running. I'm ready." She said, turning to Castiel and Uriel.

"I'm sorry." Castiel said straight faced, but Anna shook her head.
"No, you're not. Not really. You don't know the feeling." Castiel nodded conceding that point.
"Still, we have a history. It's just-"
"Orders are orders, I know. Just make it quick." Anna demanded, just as the doors flew open once more.
"Don't you touch a hair, on that poor girl's head." Alastair's voice came from behind them, he had two other Demons behind him holding up a bleeding Ruby.

"Alastair! How dare you come in this room... you pussing sore!" Uriel snarled.
"Name calling. That hurt my feelings." Alastair grabbed his chest and smiled. "You sanctimonious, fanatical prick!"
"Turn around and walk away... now." Castiel threatened but Alastair just nodded.
"Sure. Just give us the girl. We'll make sure she gets punished good and proper."

"You know who we are and what we will do. I won't say it again. Leave, now... or we lay you to waste." Castiel threatened, and then he and Uriel stepped in front of Anna, Sam, Dean and Harley.
"Think I'll take my chances." Alastair hissed.

They suddenly broke into a fight, and Castiel pressed his hand to Alastair's forehead trying to smite him but Alastair just laughed.
"Sorry, kiddo. Why don't you go run to Daddy?" He uppercut Castiel and sent him flying to the ground. Uriel pressed his hand to one of the other Demons' foreheads and exorcised him, leaving his eye sockets black and empty.

Alastair grabbed Castiel around the neck and began reciting something in Latin, causing Castiel to choke and start to tremble. Dean ran up and hit Alastair across the back with a crowbar. Alastair stood up angrily and turned to the siblings.
"Dean, Dean, Dean... I am so disappointed. You had such promise." He put his hand out, and Sam, Dean and Harley dropped to the floor struggling to breathe as if somebody was choking them. While Uriel was attacking the other Demon, Anna ran up and ripped a glowing pendant off his neck.
"NO!" Uriel yelled.

Before Uriel could stop her, Anna broke the pendant, and a glowing white liquid flowed into her mouth. The whole room lit up from the light that illuminated from her body.
"Shut your eyes! Shut your eyes! Shut your eyes!" Anna yelled urgently.
Harley quickly covered her eyes with her arms, just before the room erupted with a rumble and whistling winds. The only ones left were Castiel, Uriel, Ruby, Anna, Sam, Dean and Harley.
"Well, what are you guys waiting for? Go get Anna, unless, of course, you're scared." Dean mocked, as he stood up.

"This isn't over!" Uriel said heatedly, glaring at him.
"Oh, it definitely looks over to me, junkless." Harley smirked. At that moment Castiel, Uriel and Anna disappeared.
"You okay?" Sam asked Ruby, helping her to her feet. Ruby shook her head.
"Not so much."
"What took you so long to get here?" Dean asked.
"Sorry, I'm late with the Demon delivery. I was only being tortured." Ruby said sarcastically.
"I gotta give it to you, Sammy. Bringing them all together all at once. Angels and Demons. It was a damn good plan." Harley smiled.

"Yeah, well, when you got Godzilla and Mothra on your ass, best to get out of their way and let them fight." Sam commented.
"Yeah, now you're just bragging." Dean laughed.
"So, I guess she's some big-time Angel now, huh? She must be happy wherever she is." Sam mused.
"I doubt it." Dean scoffed.

After parting ways with Ruby, the three siblings sat on the hood of the Impala drinking some beers.
"I can't believe we survived that." Harley said, resting her head on Dean's shoulder after texting Gabriel so he knew they were alive but it looked like Dean wanted to talk to them.
"Again." Sam agreed. Dean held his bottle out for Sam and Harley to clink, and then the three clinked their bottles and took a swig.
"I know you both heard him." Dean whispered.
"Who?" Sam asked, looking over Harley's head to Dean.

"Alastair." Dean said. "What he said... 'about how I had promise'."
"I heard him but we're not gonna pressure you." Harley said firmly.
"You're not curious?" Dean asked.
"You said you didn't want to talk about it." Harley said again.
"Yeah, Dean, we're damn curious. But you're not talking about Hell and Harley's right, we're not pushing." Sam said.
"It wasn't four months, ya know." Dean said quietly.
"What?" Sam and Harley asked confused.

"It was four months up here, but down there... I don't know. Time's different. It was more like forty years."
"My god." Sam and Harley said shocked, tears filling Harley's eyes as she clutched at Dean's arm as guilt ate her up.
"They, uh- they sliced and carved and tore at me in ways that you-" Dean shook his head. "Until there was nothing left. And then, suddenly, I would be whole again... like magic. Just so they could start all over. And Alastair... at the end of every day... every one... he would come over. And he would make me an offer. To take me off the rack... if I put souls on... and if I started torturing.

And every day, I told him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. For thirty years, I told him. But, then I couldn't do it  anymore. I couldn't. And I got off of it, and I started ripping them apart. I lost count of how many souls." He started to get choked up and Harley hugged him tighter, silently crying. "The... the things that I did to them."
"Dean - Dean, look, you held out for thirty years. That's longer than anyone would have." Sam assured him. Dean started fully crying which made Harley silently cry more.
"How I feel... this... inside me... I wish I couldn't feel anything. I wish I couldn't feel a damn thing."

Harley shared an extremely worried look with Sam.
"I... I'm so sorry, Dee. So sorry." Harley sobbed, hugging Dean tighter. "I wish I'd found a way... saved you from this. I'd give anything. Anything."
