Just Like Fire
Clary's P.O.V:
Knowing I could count on Simon to do what was said before, I raced through the woods to the institute.
My mind was twisting through my head, and I almost felt unbalanced when I was running.
By the time I get to the institute, the tracking should be done, so all I need to do is find out where Sebastian is.
Easy enough.
But, one thing I've learned from these past couple of days is that nothing is easy.
➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰
I crashed though the doors of the institute, and slammed them shut behind me. Immediately, I ran to the library, knowing Magnus was in there with everyone else.
"Hey, did you finish the tracking?" My eyes searched Magnus' eyes, looking for an answer.
"Yeah, we finished a couple of minutes ago. Right now, we are discussing some things on how to safely get Jace and kill Sebastian once and for all. Come sit down, biscuit."
For the first time this week, everything was smoothly.
It was a pleasant surprise.
Magnus showed me the map of where they thought Jace was.
A marker circled an area not in a demon releam but in Alicante.
"Sebastian has Jace in Alicante?" My voice rose in fear; many bad things happened in Alicante last time Sebastian was there.
"Actually.... No. Jace, according to my tracking, is in Alicante. Sebastian is unknown. We couldn't track him. Our guess is that Sebastian isnt with jace but somewhere else like a trap. If you go and get Jace, he'll attack the institutes around the world like last time. But, we warned everybody about the threat, so you could try to find Jace. My words of advise are run. Run if you smell or fear danger. Once you walk into danger, there's no certainty that you'll come back." Magnus' cat eyes shone darkly upon me.
I rounded the room to say my goodbyes and I was off. Only holding my stele, a bag, and those words that boomed in my head.
Once you walk into danger, there's no certainty that you'll come back.
➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰➰
Everytime I closed my eyes, I would see Jace. His beautiful golden eyes, his sun tanned skin marked with scars and runes, his face, shining brightly and as usual, so handsome.
My Jace was taken by Sebastian, the monster.
I was going to find him, even if I died while doing it.
The way Luke took me the first time I went to alicante is the way I'm taking now. It's not going to take a week, but it will take a few days.
My feet pound on the cement, and rocks fly all about me. The sun is setting, I have to get to somewhere quick. I sprint on my tiny feet and they carry me to a cave.
I open my bag and pull out my witchlight. It glows powerfully as it touches my hand. Beams of light spread through the cave, lighting up everything.
Before I left, Izzy gave me her ruby pendant, it's beautiful ruby color beating like a heart.
"Crap." I sputter as I know demons must be close.
My hand rummages through the bag, clenching onto my stele. Quickly but efficiently, I draw a few runes on my arms. Along with my stele, I also pulled out a sword and a seraph blade.
As I move closer to the back corner of the cave, the pendant flashes red.
My hand is shaking but it steadies when I remember Jace, and how I have to save him.
I ignore Magnus' words about not running into danger, only because I need to kill this demon before it kills me.
Light bounces off the walls when I see not what I expected. Instead of the demon I was expecting, something else appears.
"Hello Clarissa."
It's Sebastian.
My voice wants to scream at him and my hands want to launch at him and rip off his face, but I need to control myself.
"Where's Jace?" My eyes gleam with anger.
"You mean your lover boy? Don't worry, he's in safe hands... for now. Just come with me and I'll let him free. No harm. Not one scratch will be touched upon him. But, if you want to be stubborn like I know you will want to, then Mr handsome is dead. I'll kill him right in front of your eyes." His face flickered up with a grin that flashes on his face.
"No, I'm not coming with you. I want to-" Sebastian cut me off.
"Then say goodbye, it-"
"NO! Stop interrupting me you filthy demon. Don't touch Jace or trust me, you'll be sorry. But as I said before, I want to fight you. I want to rip your throat out so badly, but I'm not. Well, right now. Let's just fight, battle, whatever you ant to call it, OK?"
Sebastian seemed startled by the approach, but didn't seem to want to turn the offer down.
"Of course, I'll fight you. But you might want to say goodbye to lover boy before you die. Or you can just tell me your words, and I'll spread it over so he can hear them. Sounds good, ok. So what's your loving words sis?"
My eye twitched.
He smiled.
I grabbed my blade and sword.
He pulled out his long sword.
"I don't have all day, tell me your words for lover boy." He sounded very impatient. I loved it.
"I'm not dying today. So there's no need to."
And that's when I launched myself at him.
{ Little authors note: the following scene(s) may get a little... Gruesum. Enter at your own discretion! Enjoy violent people:) And if you don't read the gruesome part, then just skip through the story until you see another bold paragraph. You can read after the paragraph, it will not be as violent. Here we go! }
My hands immediately launched at his throat, tearing his skin. My fingernails dug into his flesh, ripping threads off. He screamed in pain and threw his hands on my hips and yanked me off him.
I yelped a little but quickly grabbed my seraph blade from my back pocket. I spun around and jumped off the cave wall, doing a flip in the air.
Looks like all that training payed off.
After I do the flip, I spun my feet out and kicked Sebastian straight in the nose. His head flew back and blood gushed out of it.
He wiped his shirt against his nose and instantly, the blood bled through it.
Grunting with pain, Sebastian charged at me, blood still dripping.
His sword wipped at me, but I dodged it, and gracefully got up.
Before I knew it, he jumped on my back, and started stabbing my back. I kicked my hind legs up and hit him, hoping it would drag him off.
No luck.
Blood dripped down my spine, it felt like buckets of it were getting dumped down my back. And it was all mine.
This time, I spun around and wrapped my arms around his skinny body and yanked him off me.
He flung off finally, but got up very quickly. We both were face to face now.
It was my time to kill him now.
Do it for Jace, Clary. Do it for my angel boy.
I charged at him, sword infront of me and stabbed him through the shoulder. He tried dodging, but somehow failed.
The sword dug through his flesh and bits of his arm came crashing into the floor. Blood covered both of our feet, and it was all over the cave walls.
Now this was a real battle.
I yanked my sword out of his shoulder, every millimeter covered in his demon blood.
His eyes blackened and he brought his sword over his head and held it there.
{ OK, you can read it now. The worst parts are over. Enjoy the rest if the story!! :);):D }
"This can all be over if you just come with me, sister. We can be brother and sister, happily ruling this shadow world the way it should be. Just drop your blade and sword and come with me."
I laughed at his offer.
"Ha, no. I'll never come with you. Let's finish out the fight." The blade shone with my anger, very brightly.
"No. Say goodbye to lover boy then."
And then he disappeared.
I gasped for breath finally, but the air smelt smokey. Flames engulfed me as I looked up.
My mouth let an assortment of curse words out as I ran for my life. The flames were reaching me as I tried to run out of the cave. With all the deep wounds and the smoke, I knew I couldn't make it out. I dropped down on the floor and took deep breaths which didn't help because smoke was getting in my lungs. My throat closed up and a coughing fit attacked me.
This was definitely no good.
I should of listened to Magnus.
Once you walk into danger, there's no certainty you'll come back.
Yeah, I'm not coming back.
Before it went black, another picture of Jace floated in my head. This time it was of me kissing him.
"Jace, please." My throat closed as I closed my eyes, saying goodbye to the world.
Just then, a pair of arms wrapped around me, lifting me off the ground.
I was carried out towards the entrance in these familiar hands. My eyes couldn't see, but I could breathe a little at least.
"Clary." I was layed on the ground by this person that I knew. The hands, the voice, it was all too familiar.
And I knew who it was.
It's was my angel boy.
