Well that could have gone better...
Paul P.O.V.
"Alright, everyone ready?" I asked my family who were waiting in front of my father's mansion, a 3 story house not to far from the while house. It might be a good time to point out that my family are rather more well off than most, due to our British roots from the colonial period. But that's besides the point, I don't want to bore you with family history. In reply to my question I got a series of nods and/or hums of agreement from the demigods, a 'Yes daddy' from my special little girl and a concerned look from my wife.
"Are you ready, Paul?" I got asked by Sally who had taken our daughter back from Percy and was looking at me anxiously wait for me to knock and actually get in the house. Its understandable seeing as it was only about 5° outside so everyone was eager to get inside.
"Yeah I'm fine..." I replied with a sigh and a stained smile which absolutely no one bought judging by the series of raised eyebrows. Sighing again I continued, "It's just I want my family to like you guys as ,well, your my family too. And I know what there like, and I know they ar-"
That's when I got interrupted by my step-son violently grabbing my shoulder, jerking me towards him so I looked into his intimidating gaze. Gulping I held his stare unable to break away from his stare. "Paul listen here, if your family is really as bad as you say then they are never going to like us, me in particular. We know your not them, so we judge you on that," He told me never breaking his gaze. I smiled with a bit more confidence, nodding along with what he was saying noticing he had removed his grip from my shoulder. "And besides, its not like they can be any worse that mine." I retorted with a smirk as he unceremoniously slammed his fist into the door several times creating a series of echoing knocks resonating from the door. The force of the knocking was so great that it made the ignore knocker clattered a couple of times.
This made my eyebrows shoot over my head as my eyes widened in panic at how I knew how my father would react. Whipping round to look at the door I vaguely registered my future daughter-in-laws berating my step-son as he chuckled along with his sister. If possible my eyes grew ever larger as I fully registered the furious grumbling, accompanied by raging slams of the bolts as they were pulled to. Panic fully settled in as the door was almost ripped off the hinges by the aggravated yank of my father.
Third P.O.V.
"Which one of you bloody brats was that?" Was the yell that ceased all chatter amongst the group. The man behind the yell was obviously of the older generation, clearly in his late 70's at the earliest. His head held a few grey whiskers pulled into a comb-over in a desperate attempt to prevent balding, dressed in chequered tweed and smoking a pipe he obviously an upper class prick. Upon his wrinkled face a condescending sneer was pasted as he cast his gave across the teenage demigods, momentarily ignoring Paul, Sally and Estelle, making no attempt to conceal his contempt from the group. It was no exaggeration to say that, Arthur Blofis was the epitome of rich snobs.
"That would be me, Mr Blofis I presume?" Percy inquired extending his hand in greeting, clearly unfazed by the senior citizens distaste. Roughly taking the offering the older man glared up at the demigod before replying.
"And who might you be then? One of Sally's at a guess." The old man growled out, a clear hatred for the hero beginning to form. Percy responded with a wide grin just to get on his nerves.
"Yup, Perseus Jackson. Nice to meet you." The son of the sea replied his grin never faltering, "And this is my girlfriend, Artemis", he said slinging an arm around the goddess pulling her into his embrace. Said goddess's flared up into shining gold blush for the umpteenth time that day, not being used to be introduced as someone else's girlfriend though not minding the affection one bit. Smiling she waved at the man even if inside she was already debating which animal he would look best as, a raccoon was currently winning.
"And I'm his fabulous sister, Thalia Grace." Thalia announced with a manic grin plastered on her face swinging her arms out and bowing for extra effect. This caused the rest of the group, Estelle included, to roll their eyes at her, except from Paul who was becoming paler than Hades when forced with social interaction and Arthur who was a deeper scarlet than Ares at a hippie festival. The introduction also caused the moon goddess the mutter only loud enough for them to hear.
"And you say you're not like father."
That got a smirk which unsettled the goddess from her lieutenant, "Considering the mess you made in Kelp-heads truck, we know who got his sex drive."
Before the goddess could berate her second in command she was beaten by the daughter of Bellona, "Quite you two we have company. Sorry about that Mr Blofis, I'm Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano Thalia's girlfriend." The former roman finished respectfully, having had to deal with the senate multiple times did have some advantages.
Mr Blofis look over Reyna with new found interest offering his hand in greeting to the younger girl. This made Paul's eyebrows shoot up once again, you see his father was notorious for being a bit of a prick demanding respect but never giving it so it was a rare sight for him to give it so freely. Shaking her hand with a respectfully neutral face, "Pleasure to meet you young Reyna." before turning to finally greet his son, "Your late."
"Sorry father, the traffic was worse than I had anticipated. It won't happen again." He said with his head down cast obviously either ashamed or aggravated by his fathers disappointment, most likely the former. Seeing this all demigods present clenched their teeth in restraint from decking this objectionable prick where he stood, while Percy physically restrained his girlfriend from turning him into a medium sized rodent. Sally also had a frown on her face as she covered her daughters ears wanting nothing more than to give him a piece of her mind, but like the demigods had promised to try and play nice if only for his sake.
After saying his piece the oldest of the Blofis family returned inside to family much to the others relief. "Gods your father is a objectional bas-man." Sally said as soon as the man was out of listening range, trying to keep it PG for Estelle.
"Are you sure I'm not allowed to turn him into a rodent, not even for a little while?" The goddess asked looking up at her boyfriend with pleading eyes.
Leaning down to peck his girlfriend on the lips for being cute, "Don't look at me, my love. Paul's the one we are doing this for." Pouting the goddess decide she would just imagine all the different ways she could castrate the male will she was here, it was one of her favourite pass times.
"It's not a problem guys, I'm used to it." Paul said whispered dejectedly before grabbing his daughters hand and putting on a sad smile for his little girl. "Come on, my little star lets go see aunt Cathy." Was all they got before the Goode English teacher headed inside his family home.
"Well might as well get this over with," the daughter of lightning muttered darkly as she too though of the many ways to castrate Paul's hunter while leading the group into the Blofis residents.
Artemis's P.O.V.
To say I despised Paul's father was an under statement, the man clearly hadn't done a hard days physical work in his life and from what I gathered from scanning his memories he only managed to scrape through college due to his family name. Fortunately for him, Percy keeps holding be back from smiting him, and we haven't even had a proper conversation yet.
As we traversed though the corridors of the Blofis family house, I got a nostalgic feeling from the décor of the place. The ceilings where high and the corridors filled with antiques from every corner of the world, truly showing the wealth of Paul's family. Of course my palace has more exotic and rarer pieces, but for mortals it wasn't half bad. Poor Estelle seemed to be afraid to touch anything resorting to hiding behind Paul's leg as they lead the way. While Reyna and Sally were whispering between them about how much it would of cost and where it originated from, Sally obviously having been told from a previous visit as she appeared to be lecturing the younger girl, my lieutenant and boyfriend had other ideas in there heads. Both of them were wearing a lopsided smirk as they strolled through the corridors throwing vases between them along with any other artefacts that weren't physically bolted onto the wall then leaving them behind in random places. For instance, a old globe had a some south African mask balancing with a topical flower on top of it next to an oil painting of Victoria, which surely have a moustache and a monocle on it if the had a pen on them which didn't turn into a weapon of mass destruction, who had a halberd balanced on her head. How they managed to rearrange there entire corridor in only a couple of minutes, I don't think I will ever know.
"Damn, that felt good." Was the only explanation I got as Percy re-joined my side linking arms with me as we reached the door Paul had stopped at. "I only wish I had a pen on me."
This perked Paul's interest as he was about to open the door he was standing beside. As he turned round slowly, all of his previous joy about seeing his sister drained from his face and was replenished with dread as he gazed upon the carnage his step children had left in their wake. I found that most amusing in all honesty, having to put my spare hand as I covered my mouth to contain my laughter. "You do know that most of that stuff is priceless... right?"
"I do indeed." Replied my boyfriend nonchalantly, deciding to wrap his arms around me while we waited for Paul to open the door, not that I particularly mind waiting wrapped in my boyfriends arms the longer I'm away from that insolent boy the higher his chances of survival. "But then again, so will your fathers expression be when he finds out."
"He's going to kill you when he finds out." Paul sighed exasperatedly as he turned back to opening the door as he did so, knowing nothing would come of arguing with the demigod.
"Let him try." Was the oh so mature response from Percy. Rolling my eyes, I grabbed Percy by the ear tugging him towards the door though he immediately broke free and began grumbling about domestic violence as he followed me and the mortals into the room Paul lead us to. I could hear a faint snigger from Thaila behind me before it turned to whining as she too was grabbed by the ear.
The room we entered I must say was rather nice. It was clearly the Blofis family kitchen with the numerous side cupboards, large central island with attached breakfast bar and sink and an array of ovens attached to the wall. The room had a rustic feel with the dark wood furnishings but had no expense spared with the granite work surfaces. Inside the room held numerous branches from Pauls family tree with a group of middle age boys leaning on the work top talking amongst themselves, oblivious to our entry, all of wish were staring at one of their wives arses as they bent down to pick up a crying infant from the floor. The same women was apart of a small group of sophisticated mothers, who appeared to be simultaneously looking after the children and preparing dinner, typical.
Paul lead us over to the group of women and helped pick up the screaming infant and rocked it gently to quieten it down. Soon the young girl had calmed down enough to be put back on the floor with the rest as they began to play with building blocks again. Noticing our approach the young mother greeted us with a smile, "Hello Sally, its so good to see you again!" She announced as she rushed over and gave Sally a bone crushing hug, before kneeling down in order to greet Estelle who was currently hiding behind he mothers legs. "Hey little one, you sure have grown haven't you?"
To which my future sister-in-law (hopefully) smiled shyly as she rushed over and jumped on her aunt, "Hi aunt Cathy, missed you"
Lifting the younger girl up, 'aunt Cathy' tickled the young girl, "I missed you too," she said to the giggling girl before turning to us with a kind smile on her face. "And you must be Paul's step-family. Right? Oh God, where are my manners I'm Catherine Paul's younger sister, but you can call me Cathy. It's nice to finally meet you all." The highly excitable women said as she placed Estelle back down and dusted the flower of her hands and extended her right one in greeting.
Being the closest to her I shook her hand first giving her a genuine smile in greeting, unlike the fake one I had to give her father. "Hi Cathy I'm Artemis, this dorks girlfriend." I responded while pecking Percy's cheek to let him know I was only joking. The chuckle I got from the woman as I heard one of the older women in the group, who were clearly paying attention while carrying on with her jobs, mutter something about 'young love' which I have honestly gotten used to by now even though I'm still new to this whole relationship thing.
The kind smile remained on her face as she observed us, unlike her father she just looked as if she wanted to know who we were rather than her father who looked like he wanted nothing more than to smite us. "Ah, I presume you must Paul's step son then?" She asked turning to my boyfriend who was wearing his classic troublemaking smirk while accepting her hand in greeting.
"That would be me, Perseus Jackson but you can call me Percy. It's a pleasure to meet you." This made all present look at the demigod in shock as he was notorious for his lack of manners in introductions but yet apparently was completely able to if he wanted.
Before I could comment on Percy's spontaneous display of proper etiquette I was distracted by a bread knife hurtling straight past my eyes on a clear trajectory straight for my boyfriend's head!
