' she is a girl in a monstrous dress of hellfire '

FAYE WOKE up with an unsettling feeling rupturing her stomach. Her eyelids slowly retracted from her eyes, everything in her room coming into a blurry focus. Including the brunette woman standing over her bed. The blonde harshly blinked and scavenged the floor for her glasses. When she put them on, the woman was gone. Her hand crawled up her chest and she placed it over her heart, counting the irregular beat striking against her rib cage. Once a steady heartbeat thrummed to her fingers, she kicked her blankets to the end of the mattress and jotted down the stairs to get breakfast.

Once the kitchen greeted her with boxes and ripped up tile, she managed to spot her parents sitting at the kitchen table, looking at her. "Morning?" Faye sauntered into the kitchen, her bare feet slapping against the shredded tile floor. Ignoring the look on her parents' faces, she grabbed a bowl and poured some cereal into it along with some milk. "When did you guys start ripping the floor out?"

"Yesterday," Her mother stated. "The contractors are coming later this afternoon to replace it all with new tile." Faye nodded her head in acknowledgement and pulled a seat beside her parents and began flattening her cereal, the crunch satisfying her ears. Still, they had her eyes on her. Faye swallowed the bite she had taken and raised her eyebrows.

"Is everything okay? You look like you're about to confront my drug addiction," she joked.

Her mother smiled. "Everything's fine, dear. We just are worried about school; you haven't talked about it much."

"It's good," Faye contemplated after a few moments of hesitation. "I've made a few friends already. Like Erica."

Her father took a sip of his coffee. He opened his mouth to speak, but his wife cut him off. "Just remember you can talk to us about anything, okay?" The younger blonde nodded as she finished her small amount of cereal.

"Can you give me a ride to school today?" Faye questioned her father. He nodded.

"Be ready in ten."

Faye bolted up the stairs and somehow managed to collect all her belongings, change and brush her hair in teeth in all of ten minutes. She jogged down the stairs and met her father at the door. "Ready?" He asked, holding his briefcase.

She nodded and followed her father out the door to his car and pulled herself into the front seat. "How's work?" she asked him, as he finished getting settled in his seat.

"Terrible," he sighed. "Whittemore keeps taking all of my cases."

"I'm sorry," she replied. "But, I'm sure you'll get the next one." Her father gave a small smile and patted his daughter's leg as he pulled out of the driveway.

The rest of the drive to school was silent. Faye and her father never needed many words to communicate. Unlike Abigail, both of them could have a conversation just using facial expressions and they both enjoyed the temporary silence. When he pulled up to the school, Faye noticed someone glowering at her from the distance. It was Jackson. His unamused face quickly turned to a smirk as he began to walk into the school.

"Who's that?"

"A Whittemore."

Her father shook his head. "Have a good day and if you end up fighting with that other Whittemore, I got your back. Love you."

Faye kissed her father on the cheek and pulled her purse over she shoulder. The walk into the school was short stopped when someone blocked the doors in front of her. "What do you want Jackson?" she snapped, trying to push around him.

"Aw, is the freak having troubles getting past me?"

Before Faye could concoct a reply, a voice growled behind her. "Beat it, Jackson." Jackson scowled at the person behind Faye and walked away. Pivoting on her heels, Faye spun around to thank her savior. The curly haired blonde smiled.

"Thank you Erica," Faye muttered, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear and walking inside the school with the other blonde on her heels.

"I know you're still mad at me, and I'm sorry, but I had good reasons to lie to you. There's too much in this town to know about and I didn't want to scare you off." Faye sighed as she unlocked her locker, still listening to Erica. "You don't have to trust me, that's fine. Just know we won't let anything happen to you, especially me."

The blonde gave a small forgiving smile and nodded as she closed her locker. The slam of the locker echoed through the halls just as the bell buzzed through the hallways. "We'll talk later, okay?" Erica added on before she waltzed down the halls, her curls bouncing on her shoulders. With the hallways clearing out and her one friend leaving, Faye slowly made her way to class.

"I NEED your help with something," Allison said as she approached Faye outside of class. The blonde closed her locker, grabbing her textbook.

"Help with what? Please tell me we're not robbing a bank."

"No. I'm going to see Jackson and talk to him."

Faye's eyes widened. "Are you out of your mind? Isn't he the ... you know," she lowered her voice, "the kanima?"

The brunette nodded. "Please? I need someone to keep watch. And if Scott finds out..."

"He'll lose it," Faye sighed as she finished Allison's sentence. "Alright, fine, but just this time. But I can't protect you if something happens."

Allison bent down and rolled up up her right pant leg, revealing a very sharp knife. "Don't worry, I can protect myself."

The blonde followed behind the persistent brunette all the way to the boy's locker room. "You can't be serious, Allison," Faye said.

"Take my phone. Text Scott if something happens." Before Faye could even reply or say goodbye, Allison stormed into the locker room, a defiant look on her face. Faye clicked open Allison's phone, the messages between Scott and Allison showing up. Without scrolling through them, Faye began to type.

boys locker room. allison may b in danger.

Without hesitation, Faye sent the text, not feeling guilty for ratting out her friend. The blonde knew Allison would be mad, but it would be better having Allison be mad than hurt. Or worse- dead. Faye peered through the translucent window, trying to see if she could spot Allison's pink figure. Instead, she heard a thump and a loud squeal.

She placed her hand on the door handle to open it, but a tan hand gently pushed hers away and slammed the door open. Scott marched in, growling and his eyes beaming yellow. Before she knew it, Allison was running out of the bathroom and Faye managed to catch a glimpse of Scott and Jackson throwing punches. The sound of porcelain breaking ricocheted through Faye's ears along with footsteps. Stiles, Erica and Matt appeared moments before a cloud of students did. In that cloud, there was lightning. Mr. Harris stepped out of the mass of people and scowled.

"Detention! " he shrieked. "Detention!" The teacher stormed into the bathroom and grabbed Scott and Jackson by the back of their shirts and practically dragged them out. "McCall, Argent, Rosenberg, Reyes, Stilinski, and Daehler. DETENTION! " Mr. Harris ushered the rest of the students out of the condensed hallway and shoved the eight towards the library.

"I didn't do anything!" Stiles whined.

"Do you want a double detention?" Stiles clamped his lips shut and grimaced. When the reached the library, he pulled Jackson away from the crowd and pointed the seven teenagers to the library. "Jackson, go to my classroom, and take a break. You're not in trouble." Jackson gave a wicked smile and walked away from the group, leaving the students with Mr. Harris. "Sit down, and absolutely no talking, do you understand? I'll be back in ten minutes. If I see anyone out of their seats they'll get detention for the rest of the semester."

The teens groaned and Faye crossed her arms over her chest as she followed the rest of her colleagues into the library. The library door slammed behind them as they began to take their seats. Faye sat down at one of the tables in the middle and surprisingly, Scott sat beside her.

"Thank you," he muttered. "For the text." Faye swallowed the strange and overwhelming lump in her throat and nodded.

"You're welcome," she whispered, clenching her fingers under the table.

Scott looked down at her fingers. "Are you okay?" The blonde opened her lips to speak but Erica approached the table and sat across from Faye and Scott.

"It was a car accident. That's how Jackson's parents died. My dad was the insurance investigator and he constantly talks about Jackson getting a huge settlement when he's 18."

"Do you think that's his motive for murder? Do you seriously think that a teen would go on a killing rampage just because his parents died when he wasn't even one years old?" Faye asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

Erica looked at Scott. "Are you not keeping her up to date? Jeez, you obviously have to catch her up with a lot of things." Erica stood up and walked over to Stiles, mumbling in a soft voice that Faye couldn't hear.

"We found out the Kanima is being controlled by someone," Scott whispered. Faye could feel his warm breath dance across her face. The hair on her arms stood on edge and she wrapped her arms tighter around herself.

"So someone's using Jackson to kill people? Do you know who?"

Scott shook his head. "We're still trying to figure it out."

"Any suspects?" Faye glanced into Scott's eyes and he shook his head again.

"Every suspect we've had has been proven not guilty." A loud crash came from the bookcases and both Faye and Scott jumped at the large noise.

Faye, Scott, Stiles, Allison and Erica ran towards the source of the noise. A pile of books cluttered the floor along with a body. Matt's. "He's still alive, he's just unconscious. The books must've knocked him out," Scott concluded as he bent down. A long hiss converged with the stale air of the library.

"Or," Faye whispered. "It was him." The Kanima stood on it's four legs, it's scales shimmering in the stale library light. It's forked tongue scraped against its razor sharp canines. Before Scott had time to fully shift and attack, the kanima leaped towards him. Scott pushed Faye and Allison back as he crouched down and his fangs began to extend. His eyes morphed into a sickly yellow, but he was too late. Erica jumped in front of Scott and shoved the beast with a monstrous growl.

The kanima flew across the library and crashed into a bookshelf, the wood snapping in half and the shelves collapsing on top of the giant lizard. Erica and Scott ran towards the kanima while Allison bent down and cradled Matt's head in her lap. She constantly pressed her fingers against his neck to make sure he was alive.

Faye turned her head to see Erica hiding behind another bookshelf. She was laying on the ground, and she was shaking. Was she having a seizure? Wasn't the bite supposed to stop the seizures? Faye knew in that instant she had to get over to her friend without getting killed. Her feet picked up pace before her mind recognized what she was doing. Scott was pinned to the ground but Faye's running gave him the distraction he needed to throw the Kanima.

The blonde bent down beside her friend, who was harshly convulsing and gurgling. "It's okay," Faye reassured, grabbing her friend and rolling her on to her back, waiting until she stopped shaking. Another loud crash bounced off the walls and Faye looked up to see the Kanima walking towards her.

Her hands began to burn. The fire under her skin made her skin into ash, her veins turning a dark black and traveling up to her fingertips. She looked in the Kanima's eyes and saw her own fiery eyes. She had to protect her friends. All the thoughts of being scared vanished as power thrummed through her veins and to her mind.

The kanima hissed and picked up it's pace. With no control over her body, a loud shout left her mouth as she pushed her hands forwards in the air. A wave of heat left her fingertips along with embers that merged to create a wall of flames. The blaze grew higher and higher with each second and began to encapsulate Faye and her friend. The wall hissed and crackled as it grew closer to the Kanima and Faye couldn't help but smirk. The beast tried to get a bit closer to see if the flames were fake, but the moment they touched it's scales, it burned. The smell of burning flesh filled Faye's nose as she watched his shoulder burn.

She wanted to burn him. All of him. With a wicked grin, she reached her hand through the wall of flames, her skin becoming cold. Faye pushed her whole body through the wall of flames and stood in front of the kanima. A voice that didn't sound like hers escaped her mouth as she snarled "I'm going to kill you. And I'm going to love it."

The kanima took a few steps backwards before two hands gripped her shoulders. Yellow eyes stared into her own. "This isn't you. Fight it Faye." A mind that wasn't hers grabbed Scott's forearm and she smirked.

"She can't fight it forever. Just you wait, werewolf." Faye's eyes closed and her knees began to give out under her. Scott quickly reached his hands under her armpits, catching her before she could collapse to the ground. He gently lifted the blonde into his arms, her head hanging off one arm and her legs hanging off another. The wall of flame disappeared leaving only ashes and some burned books.

"Allison!" Scott yelled. Allison ran out from the bookshelf and looked at the girl in his arms.

"What happened to her?" the brunette asked.

"I'll explain later. Take my phone, call an ambulance for Matt and get Stiles to get Isaac and-"

"Already here," Isaac said walking into the library to where Erica was. He picked up her convulsing body and waited for more orders.

"Take her to Derek," Scott commanded. "Allison, Stiles, stay with Matt until the ambulance comes."

"Where's Jackson?" Stiles asked. "Please tell me you did not release the leash off the lizard."

Look at the chalkboard," Scott whispered.

Stay out of my way or I'll kill you all.

"Scott, where are you going?" Allison asked worriedly.

"Deaton's. If anyone can figure out what Faye is and how to help her, it's him. He's our only hope."

"And what if he can't figure it out?" Stiles asked. "He's just a vet, y'know."

Scott looked down at the girl in his arms and watched as her dark black veins returned to normal. "Then we have another monster in this town that could kill us all."
