Personality

Robin is a quick-witted and boisterous young man. Unashamed, unabashed, and wonderful at getting his opinion heard. He's reclaimed himself after his years of quiet and wordlessness. No longer bending to fear that he unadmittedly still battles with at every corner. Those who intimidate him might catch a glimpse of who he was beforehand, a timid, meek child, only to come face to face with who he is now. A bold idiot who cares more for what's right than his own safety. Though his fire shouldn't be all that's noted about his personality. He's as thoughtful about others as he is fiercely passionate towards those he is devoted to. Surprisingly, his reasoning is also surprisingly what's landed him as an advisor. His mode to switch from a fun loving dangerously truthful and at times straight devious person, to the soothing, calming, voice of reason truly useful when dealing with his older sister and sister-in-law at times. He's by far the least hot-headed of the people he calls family, but it suits him well to not only use with his position but with those around him. He's emotional, easily distracted, strong-willed, and dedicated to whatever tasks are given to him. He loves challenges, breaking through riddles, solving problems and learning thing's he's not supposed to. Robin has a knack for picking things up quickly, his beginnings giving him an advantage in many things of that nature, but information tends to stick to him like glue, and unfortunately, it gives him a tough time in forgetting things as well. First impressions are fast to stick with him, so it's also difficult to win him over when he sees people as ill-willed. But to earn his trust is an honor, and his loving nature makes him an easy target for betrayal. And even when it hits him hard, he can't help but see them as who they were rather than what they are.

Background

Robin was born in secret. A small, quiet, little babe that Queen Delva had half the mind to care for, and to keep as far as she could away from his horrid father, King Sorin. A servant, a wizard of chaos in hiding, whom was madly in love with the tormented Queen and the terror that was the King, fell to the whims of the Queen to help keep her secret from those who could hurt her childlike they did to her daughter, not wanting the baby to suffer the same fate. One that might've only been worse the moment they both discovered, on a tremulous night of silent screams that was Robin's birth, that he was the boy the king had tried to carve out of Octavia. It broke the last of Delva's will to give up her child, but she couldn't bear the thought of ruining another life. Giving him to Atakan, the wizard, left her distraught, heartbroken, completely without hope to hang on. Atakan, being the devil he was, raised the boy as his own. Teaching him black magic and branding him with knowledge so that he could never forget who taught him the paths of watching the wicked unfold. Robin seemed seeded in the horror Atakan created, finding everything he did painful to witness and more mournful to the idea of the man who raised him with care. Robin lived in fear with Atakan, falling quiet and devoted, but resentful of the creature he knew lurked beneath the surface. Robin spent as much of his childhood singing as he did studying under him, his voice enchanted by his 'father' (as he called himself) as an aid to help the immortal sleep. He spent his young life this way in near solitude, save for the errands Attakan sent him on into the town while he paraded around the Castle of Irae, tormenting Octavia, playing about with the lifeless Queen, and whispering into King Sorin's ear as they paraded around in secret. But at the age of 9, those fleeting moments of the outside world lead him to his sister. Who was within an inch of her life after what Robin could see was the aftermath of a terrible attack. She was wandering aimlessly in the woods while he was sent out to find breakfast, he watched her collapse near a creek with a nervous yelp before timidly going to help her, afraid she might roll into the water and drown. She was delirious, from both pain, and what Robin could smell so strongly on her, alcohol as he pushed his hands over her burning temple. With no idea as to what to do as she rambled nonsensically, in a fever almost as he noticed the bruises along her cheeks, and bleeding burn against the back of her neck, he sang to her, easing her to sleep along the soft grass before running back to the hidden cottage he called home. He cleaned her up the best he could, cleaning her wounds and using the things he learned to help her. But as she woke up in the middle of Robin cleaning her face, she nearly threw him in the creek as she screamed bloody murder. Her nightmare taken root as she panicked at the new face hovering over hers, and it took a bit of screaming and thrashing, but they both grabbed hold of the situation at hand. Quietly did she bid herself a hasty goodbye, finding something quite odd about the boy as something about her struck a chord within him. After Robin's curiosity grew, he began to ask questions Atakan seemed to easily avoid answering to him, but the clever boy knew better than to assume he knew nothing about the subject of a Princess going through such a thing.

He found out what he was looking for as he stumbled upon a journal in Atakan's room, shaken as he reads the recollections of the wizard's many pastimes spent tormenting poor souls who cross his path, destroying what should have been left untouched, burning a kingdom to the ground by playing it's three figure-heads to his liking, a queen, a king, and a freshly cursed princess.

Taking their heir for himself, a prize he intended to groom as he saw fit.

Robin ran into the woods as far as he could. Fearful of what was to come, but more so for the people he's unknowingly watched his 'father' ruin. Finding an elf princess to hide him. In exchange, he'd teach her to create the potions he made for Atakan's fun. They upheld their deals to each other, and with her help after a few years of running along with her clan and trying to stave off the Prince who she took a dangerous liking to. He found his way to his sister. In the middle of her reign.

Other

It took very little convincing to show that he was actually a royal. Seeing as Octavia had a penchant for taking people in who give her a chance.

Robin has been working to undo what Atakan has done to Octavia when King Sorin branded her with the cursed steel. He hasn't been very fruitful lately. And he refuses to tell anyone about the situation until he can get it off of her himself, even Octavia.

He hates getting dressed up. And in his slightly older years, has become quite an icon with the people of Irae as his public speaking seemed to pick up. The fact that he showed up to each one in common, plain clothes, and crown in hand, rather than on his head brought him to a well-adored status. They also tend to think he's a bit older than he is, because he definently matured quickly.

Robin doesn't know how to cope with his mother, and far from shares the same attachment his sister has for her.

He and the Princess of Snakes, Demiti, are quite close friends. But he truly can't bear to see Prince Ire fall in between her and her charades. He is good friends with them both really, but very much separately.

Robin adores Henrietta, seeing her bring the best out of Octavia makes him incredibly happy.

"Think of it this way, if we get out of this alive, I'll buy the champagne to celebrate."

"Sorry honey, I don't go "fuck myself", there's usually more than enough people to do that /with/ me."

"I swear to the gods, I'd punch you in the mouth if I knew you hitting me back wouldn't be much worse."

"Can you come with me? Please? It's... bad... alone..."

(Genderbend 2? XD)
