Confusedly
+Is this cannon? Probably not, but it's still pretty fun+
The whispy blond felt his head ache. Isadora was in class, and without her to pester, he had one option left, and one only. He was out in the halls, no desire to listen to teachers talk and debate about things he could care less about. No, his mind was filled with more clouds than would allow him to listen anyways. It'd be a useless, mentally painful, effort. So out and around he was missing whatever math he was supposed to learn at this hour, instead parading around the halls of the school he could only tolerate.
Instead of doing the hard brain work, he decided on the easiest thing he could manage at the moment. He was making a paper crane. A fold he's done for as long as he can remember. It was basically second nature at the point, his hands repeating movements it's made dozens, hundreds, of times.
Doing things on repeat put his mind at ease and he was truly hoping it would ease it now.
All day was he suffering from this pounding headache he wasn't sure how he could relieve. Since the moment he found himself awake in his dorm, listening to his roomate's sleep talking as he stared up at the dark ceiling. He was sure it was 3am. But he never went around to check. A useless effort when you know you're right.
He turned down another hall. The sheet of notebook paper he worked at between his hands folded over, out, and again. Down the many doors lining the walls, he caught sight of pretty girls taking notes, reading out, at the board with their pressed skirts and silky hair.
Some boy met eyes with him through the small window, a short, but intense look that made him turn back like he wasn't looking at anyone at all.
He swallowed hard, another person walking down the hall, he didn't see who it was, to busy looking at his own feet as he strode forward, the opposite direction, but he couldn't help but notice her smooth and toned legs.
"Maddox. Which way do you swing?"
That conversation popped into his head. Mouth drying as he missed a fold. Hurriedly did he try to fix it as the girl glanced at him curiously. Looking interest within the second. The ugly crease was still there.
"I don't like swings, I always fall off from kicking forward too hard."
Isadora snorted as her hand covered her mouth. Clearly amused by the confused look on the blond boy's face.
"That's not what I mean dummy. But you don't have to answer if you don't want to-"
"Hey, no, now you gotta tell me what you mean." He huffed. Taking an angry drink of his milkshake as Isadora continued to laugh.
"I mean..." She gently waved her hand around. Quickly trying to force up the words as she sipped at her soda. "Girls or Guys? To put it simply."
His smile faltered a bit. The question one he hadn't thought of before. He didn't like to think about a lot he noticed. Even in his head he felt like he'd get in trouble for doing what he shouldn't. But he'd be lying if a thought like it hadn't crossed his mind-
That day he left Izzy hanging. A sheepish shrug his only answer. He held up his paper crane as he found himself at the window by the end of the hall. The sunlight of the late morning streaming through the fluffy fat clouds outside. With any hope, they would get rain tonight.
"Why is it I always see you out here when I'm ditching too?"
The sudden new voice made him jump out of his skin. And the laughing that ensured showed exactly who he thought it belonged to.
Callem stood right in front of him as he turned on his heel. Clutching onto his paper crane and accidentally crushing it in his fist.
The boy tilted his head curiously. Eyes running over his frame and his oddly out of dress code uniform. Then again, Callem doesn't think he's ever seen him properly dressed save for the first days of school. The dark haired male was much more into looking his best, but he couldn't say there was anything wrong with the... Relaxed, look.
"Uhm. I think you broke your bird." He pointed at Maddox's fist with a smirk. The boy's face a spark of panic before he immediately calmed to another type of nerves.
"Oh, yeah- It's fine." Mads muttered, tossing the ruined paper over his shoulder. "I can make them in my sleep by now."
"Alright..." He said lightly, trying to meet the boys dark eyes with his own. But they seemed a bit too trained on the ground.
The blond felt his cheeks grow red from his gaze. He wasn't leaving. But neither of them where saying anything either.
With amusement, Callem watched the boy prickle as he placed his hand on his neck. Flashbacks of that night hitting them both. The Flagg boy could see it with how he looked back at him, embarrassment clear as day on his face.
"Girls or-"
"Blondie, wanna take a walk with me?"
Maddox blinked back to Callem's smiling face.
"O-Oh. Yes. Yeah." He swallowed hard. Nodding along as he listen to him laugh. Pinching his pink cheek before starting off down the hall looking back at where he stood with a wicked grin.
"C'mon. I don't bite. Unless you want me too."

The clouds covered up a lot more of the sky much quicker than Maddox anticipated, it was dark, almost like the evening had begun to set in, an unusual sight to anyone who did see such weather over Greendale. But quickly did he realize that it wasn't much of a worry from where he was standing, infact, all that it truly did was give them a nice cover for whatever he got himself into.
"Want to sneak back into the dorms? No one will be there." Callem suggested, or, rather informed him as it seemed like they where heading over there anyways.
"Why over there?" Maddox wondered allowed, not really expecting an answer with how Callem was. But pleasantly surprised when he stopped in place to actually tell him.
"Peace. Quiet. Alone time?" In his dorm anyways, he was sure that would be the best place to do anything he wanted. Augustine wouldn't mind. Hell, he'd probably ask to join in if he could.
As Callem waited for a reaction. He wondered if Mads would.
"That makes sense." He hummed. Lips curling innocently as they kept moving forward.
Getting to their destination was an easier task than either of them thought. It was as if no one was monitoring a thing today. And silently did they both feel glad for it.
"So, Madsy-" Callem mocked him with his nickname. "I see you're pretty popular with the girls. Are you dating all three at the same time?"
Maddox wasn't sure if he was being serious or joking right now as the walked over to what he assumed was Callem's room. Trying to figure out which as he pushed the door in and disappeared inside.
"No- they're my friends-"
"I could've sworn you were dating Isadora. An ex-trinity? She's a bit bitchy, doesn't like me much, but not bad." He heard him laugh as he assumed he was fumbling with the lights, the door shut behind him, and the dim light from the window was clearly not up for helping.
"Hey, don't talk about her-" He stayed close to the wall, not sure what to do as he lost Callem in the dark. "-she's not like that. She's my best friend."
"Wow, that's cute. But I guess not then." Maddox jumped as he now heard that he was right in front of him. His eyes finally adjusting to where he could see him, eyes filled with mischief.
"But I guess that just means this won't cause as much drama as I thought." He hummed as he pressed his body against his. Such little space between them as Maddox completely lost his words.
His hips pressed against his, making his breath hitch as Callem's hands worked at his misbuttoned shirt pressing kisses on his pale skin before smiling against it.
"Why so quiet now, Mads? I thought you wanted to talk with me." He whispered hotly against his bare skin. Listening to his quiet, shakey breath.
The blond swallowed hard. Everywhere he touched like something he's never felt before. Heart pounding in his chest as he shakily raised a hand. Gently tracing Callem's bottom lip like he did that night that confused him so much, not just with what he saw, but what he felt then too. Something that felt almost exactly like this. But so much more different.
He caught his lips with his, tasting the cigarette he offered him on his tounge, the strawberry chapstick Maddox wore, the feeling simply burning on every nerve end.
His headache gone.
