Queen Basalt (The Raging and Overprotective Lesbian Mom)

Names: Queen Basalt, Basalty, The Miner Queen, The Raging Cavern Mother/ Cavern Mother, Gold Fangs & The Shatter Tail Queen.

Name Meanings: Basalt was named after the igneous rock; basalt, similar to how her daughter (Granite) and her mother (Obsidian) are named after these types of rocks, Basalty is a nickname that Victory Strike coined and her friends decided to call her that. The Miner Queen comes from her profession as the head of the Grim's Mining Operations in Pyrrhia and Vernica. The Raging Cavern Mother or Cavern Mother was the name the dwarves of the Ibis Mountains gave her after she saved them from a World-Ender/Magmascale hybrid by the name of Treasure-Gorger. Gold Fangs is another nickname that Basalt's servants call her, due to her love of snacking on gold. Shatter Tail comes from Basalt's broken tail spikes (Shatter-tail is more of term for Cavern Guards and Thunderhorns that have broken tails, but it is also what some dragons call Basalt), she is also the only Queen of either Cavern Guard or Thunderhorn that has a broken tail.

Gender: Female

Tribe: Pure Cavern Guard

Sexuality: Lesbian (Raging Lesbian)

Age: 112

Age of Death: 451

Cause of Death: Natural Causes/ old age

Abilities: Basalt has the same abilities as the average Cavern Guard her age, though she is stronger then average on the account of her weight-lifting. She has a tough hide composed of a mix of titanium, iron and several other metals. Her inner 'shell' and front part of her horns have a thin layer of gold and silver which makes her more resistant to electricity then the average Cavern Guard. Like any Cavern Guard, she can go into an enraged state of sorts where her internal furnace goes into overdrive and causes her blood to heat up rapidly as steam bellows from the pores in her hide and increases her speed and strength for a short period of time. Her horns can be used to carry, impale or gorge out things. Her frill is tough and flexible and is used to protect her chest and neck and helps to control the area by limiting the space a threat has. Her tail, while having broken spikes, can create mild tumours with a single swing and is used to smash boulders and dragons alike asunder. She has a great mastery of Earth Magic which she uses to increase hers and her allies' strength, she can control the very ground around her to form barriers, mazes, traps and other major obstacles, she can form body amour using rocks, boulders and ore, she can use her tail and earth magic to create powerfuL shockwaves that send opponents flying. She is also a decent master of metal magic which is a subset of Earth magic. This allows her to control metal like weapons. She has a powerful blue fire.

Weakness: While having a literal steel hard carapace, the dragoness's armour has weak-points, being the spaces between joints and plates on the underbelly. When enraged, the plates on her underbelly will be pushed out of the underbelly as steam is expelled, during this time, her underbelly is more vulnerable. Due to the size of her horns, Basalt has limited peripheral frontal vision, especially with underneath her, she has to rely on her sense of smell, hearing and her horns to perceive her surroundings. After leaving her Enraged state, Basalt like all Cavern Guards have to rest and regain their normal metabolism.

Appearance: Basalt is a towering and bulky dragoness with a pair of large shovel-like horns, a massive frill with two pairs of eye-like markings. Her grey green mace-like tail has 8 emerald green tipped spikes with a few of them having been broken. Her eyes are pink with a golden iris. Her wings are a pale lilic in colour with two golden claws. Her underbelly is a dark navy blue and her back is a dark grey with golden spines running down the back. Her horns are a mix of purple, lilacs and gold. She has splotches of turquoise, gold, silver and dark green on the wings. With turquoise and gold splotches on her hind-legs and purple and lilac on her fore limbs. She has little spots of greys, blues, red and purple on her body. Her claws are coated in a thin layer of gold.

Personality: Basalt is a very protective dragon towards their loved ones who would gladly rip, impale, burn and crush anyone who messes with them with a burning passion. She is also hard-head and stubborn to a fault, she will often let her pride get the better of her and wouldn't listen to her friends' and family's opinions and suggestions. However, it is hard to get the dragoness to loss her temper in many situations that don't involve the endangerment of her loved ones. She can often be very cocky and loves to start fights, especially when she sees an opportunity to intimidate her opponents or when she feels very boastful and will often get into spars with her fellow royals and honestly any dragon she can get into the ring with. She is known as the muscle of her group of friends and will usually be distant from the conversation unless it has to do her with her somehow. While appearing a half-wit, Basalt is actually rather smart and a capable leader, but she often thinks that everyone she deals with respects honour and common decency. One of the few dragons she wouldn't dare fight, at least, without a prompting would her closest friend; Victory Strike, as the Three Tail has been know to beat Basalt when it comes to sparring and sometimes comes on top in blacksmithing and dominates in baking and cooking. Basalt also has romantic feeling for Victory, well mainly when Victory is a female anyway, but wouldn't tell her as Basalt knows all too well how Victory Strike see their relationship and because Basalt is afraid of getting on Deception's bad side and is especially very protective over her closest friend, much to the Three-tail's displeasure and discomfort. While being a hard head and cocky, Basalt is surprisingly submissive, timid and obedient around her mother; Obsidian, the retired Cavern Guard Queen who Basalt looks up to with admiration and awe. She is also must more collected when her dragonets are present, feeling that she needs to present a good example to them.

Jewellery: Basalt doesn't keep much jewellery on talon as she has a habit of eating it, but she wears a plain golden bracelet and had six gemstones embedded onto her tail; two rubies, two sapphires and two emeralds which were melted onto her hide with cobalt.

Occupation: Queen of The Cavern Guards, second most powerful of the Pyrrhia. Head of the mining operations in Pyrrhia and Pantala. Part-time blacksmith.

Dislikes: Dragons who dare to harm her or her loved ones, humbling experiences, hates cooking.

Fear: Basalt has a fear of losing her loved ones, being extremely protective over them. She also has a mild fear of platypuses.

Weapons: Basalt's main and favourite weapons are a pair of jade embroidered chain blades that she uses to control the space around her with wide sweeping attacks and to snag and grapple her opponents to knock them off balance, close the distance between them and to destroy their guard. When she has to fight in close quarters, she switches up to a pair of maces that she uses to create shockwaves through the ground and create spikes of earth or metal that jut out of the ground to distort the area and create obstacles as well as smashing in skulls. When she has to use range, she will use a crossbow mini gun to pepper the battlefield in arrows.

Quote:

"Children, children! Remember if you don't have to, never crush some someone's head or give them eternal nightmares or roasted them alive or poison them or electrocute them. Got it."

"Come here ya spineless panzer, I think I will give you an exoskeleton made of your burned up hide."

"It was a very simple trade Scarlet, all you had to do was give me an egg, yours to be specific and you failed at even that."

"Never underestimate the agility of a living tank."

Backstory: Basalt was born in Evegard to her mother; Obsidian. She was the eldest of her siblings growing up and was responsible for taking care of her siblings when her mother was busy. When Basalt was 15 she was assigned to help take care of some other dragonets, including Victory Strike, Rattler's Bane and Insanity.

When Basalt was 16, she began to work in the mines of Pyrrhia where she became to build up a reputation for herself. When she was 45, she went to Venica to learn more about elemental magic and this was where she met the air elemental master: Tempest. They became friends, until they experience an overdramatic breakup that led to the lose of a small of Basalt's left horn and formed the breaks on her tail spikes.

When she returned to Evegard (55), she met Victory Strike after their exile and fell in love with the dragoness, when Victory asked about how Basalt's life was going, she revealed what happened in Vernica and they went on a rampage, with Victory Strike primarily doing the rampaging with Basalt just following along.

They eventually got the revenge that Victory and Basalt craved, with a few points of disagreement between the two.

When they returned, their 'friendship' had grown stronger and they would help each other in times of need.

Basalt then formed a friendship with the other up and coming royals of Pyrrhia and Vernica and proceeded to challenge several of them in near constant spars, which often resulted in her victory, except for Victory Strike, Sulfur , Stormbringer and surprisingly Singsong.

Basalt grew her reputation and took on her mother's mining business with great success.

Basalt also befriend four dragons from the Pyrrhia's surface: Borealis, Oasis, Mamba and Grandeur

Around 19 years from the excursion (75), Obsidian retired and passed the crown to Basalt.

After that point,  during a party that resulted in her getting plastered, she sired Granite and decided to marry her dragonet's father: Limestone, however Limestone died in battle before he could ever see his daughter, leading to Basalt becoming a widow and from there, she adopted several dragonets and a scavenger that spanned from then till the beginning of Dragonslayer (Official Book). Basalt also made a deal with the late Queen Scarlet over the valuable ore of Basalt's mine. Seeing as how much ore there was and the fact that the Grim would salvage metal from battle ground, she allowed Scarlet to use the upper most section her mines at the price of Scarlet's youngest dragonet, not wishing to get rid of her last heir Scarlet sired another egg that was supposed to hatch on the Brightest Night) and some gold. However, after Scarlet backed out of her deal and killed her egg to prevent the Dragonet Prophecy from coming true, Basalt in a cold fury threaten Scarlet and forced a new deal on her that required an impossible amount of gold and that Scarlet doesn't shrug her queenly duties or she will die. She had Victory Strike enchant a diamond to be linked with Scarlet's life, so that Basalt can kill her at her leisure once the deal was broken (She intended to torture Scarlet with this task and her death before delivering it when she failed).
