Lindsey Cross
Fandom: The Librarians
One of the candidates to take over the role of the Librarian, Lindsey is initially passed over, but is chosen as an intern of sorts. She acts as the literal librarian of the Library. She helps Judson categorize books and artifacts that Flynn Carsen, the Librarian, brings back from his missions.
She has a vast knowledge of things and an intuition akin to Sherlock Holmes, much like Flynn, though she sometimes notices things even he doesn't.
After 10 years of this, Flynn gets a new Guardian - Eve Baird. They discover that someone is hunting potential Librarians. They manage to save three of these "candidates"- Jacob Stone, Cassandra Cillian, and Ezekiel Jones.
Eve brings Lindsey with them to Europe to stop the Serpent Brotherhood from releasing magic back into the world after Cassandra's betrayal.
When the Library asks the others to stay and Flynn goes off to find a way to re anchor it, Lindsey goes with them on missions. After retrieving the Library and defeating Dulac, she and the others become full Librarians and head off to Peru.
Several months later, they're all called to a museum event. All for different objects, but for the same reason. Lindsey's clippings book sends her to investigate the professor in charge of the exhibition. She discovers he's Moriarty and he traps her in an office. She escapes to warn the others, but they've already found out and have bigger problems to solve with a magic storm brewing over head.
Flynn disappears to look for the missing artifacts while Lindsey, Eve, and the others try to fix the Library, which is rearranging.
On a joined mission, Flynn is taken by the Spirit of the Library and they have to return him to the Library before the separation kills it.
Eve and Flynn go back in time to try and stop Prospuro. They send messages forward through time so that Lindsey, Jenkins, Casandra, Ezekiel, and Jacob can perform and exorcism, stop Prospuro, and save Shakespeare.
A while later, they're sent to a museum in Boston and discover that Apep - the Egyptian god of chaos - is trying to release Pure Evil to upset the balance and plunge the world into darkness.
Apep gets the key before they can and sends a submarine to blow a hole in the ground and open a path to the portal. Lindsey notices something is off as Cassandra and Eve try to help Ezekiel and Jacob stop the torpedo. She notices the man they went searching for out of the corner of her eye - Apep's host body. She follows him. When the impact of the sub opens a hole in the ground, she tries to stop him, but he overpowers her. Apep tries to possess her, but Jacob and the others show up and Apep cuts off the process, fleeing underground. Jacob takes care of Lindsey while the others stop Apep. They return to find Jacob performing CPR.
Finally, with a gasp, Lindsey breathes, but she's in some kind of coma. Jenkins says Apep's attempted possession exhausted her body and she needs to rest and recover, but he believes she'll be fine.
When she eventually wakes up, Jenkins insists she take few days to recuperate. In the weeks following, she has "fits". Jacob is talking with her in the Annex, when she keels over in a seizure. Another time, they find her with a magic knife to her own throat.
Jenkins hypothesizes that because Apep tries to take over both body and mind, the attempted possession also affected her brain. The small traces of Apep's being that remained inside her are still fighting to take control.
Eve betrays them to DOSA and their leader gets possessed by Apep. Flynn uses the opportunity to defeat him, choosing to sacrifice himself to stop the god of chaos.
Lindsey and the others find a way to turn Apep into a human so they can use him as the human sacrifice for the eye of Ra. As the eye absorbs Pure Evil and the access energy from the lay lines, it also pulls the final remnants of Apep from Lindsey's body.
When one of the Cornerstones is discovered and Jenkins reveals Flynn's old Protecter imprisoned beneath the Library, they go on a mission with her to protect the last Cornerstone. While protecting the others, Lindsey gets stabbed by one of the Order of the Shadows. The blade is laced with traces of magic and goes into her abdomen, up through her diaphragm, and punctures a lung.
As soon as they defeat the Order of the Shadows, Jacob rushes Lindsey back to the Library, in the hopes that Jenkins can help her.
He tries everything, but the damage is too extensive. He performs a magical spell to heal her, but it requires that he bind her to the Library so she can't leave for very long without her injury resurfacing. Jenkins decides not to tell her, not allowing her to go on missions, until she sneaks away with Flynn and Darington Dare and almost dies Ambrose Gethick's machine.
Flynn presumably leaves and the others have to decide who will take over as THE Librarian.
In the Trial of the One to decide who will take over and tether with Eve, Lindsey proves her skill and her wit. They break free of the test, but the Library kills Jenkins, leading them to abandon the Library.
This throws the world into a reality where the Library never existed. Lindsey has no memory, but, because the Library still lives in Eve's mind, her connection to it still stands. She's in the asylum because she knows something is wrong with the world - "This isn't how it's supposed to be." When Flynn breaks out of his cell, his memories of the Library, triggers Lindsey's connection. The surge of pain brings back her memory as well.
Eve manages to bring the others together, but gets captured. Lindsey break out of her cell and tracks down the others. She arrives just in time to save them from a guard and they escape into a gated room. Lindsey collapses, her bond to the Library taking it's toll as the minds it lives in come together. She risks the rest of her energy to help the others bring it back. Thankfully, as the Library materializes, the bond strengthens and she heals.
They make it back to their reality and Flynn and Eve use an artifact to talk to past-Nicole and use her to rewrite history to save Jenkins. Because she's magically tied to the Library - a bond that surpasses time and space, Lindsey remembers everything that happens when they go back to the tethering ceremony rehearsal, unlike the others.
