Fandom: Descendants
Disclaimer: I am not a huge fan of the movies. They are cheesy and kind of stupid, but I LOVE the concept of the children of fairytale characters and the segregation and almost bigotry between the heroes and villains. (also, couldn't find a good picture with a face. 😕)

As I'm sure you noticed, this character was two names... I'll explain later.

Ever since I watched the first movie, I've been a little obsessed with the idea of a child of Rumplestilsken, but not just any child of Rumplstilsken, a child he got in a deal. His whole thing is making deals for people's first born child. It had to work at least once. Right?

Well, Rumple makes a deal with Claire's mother. (I don't know the specifics or who her mother is) In return, he asks for her first born child, she agrees, blah blah blah.

Rumple gets banished to the Isle of the Lost and Claire's now pregnant mom is thinking "good, that takes care of that."

But Rumple had a plan this time. Instead of just giving him the child, upon it's birth, the magic of the contract actually changes her DNA so that he is her biological father. (I know, kind of gross right.)

Anyway, they don't notice at first, but Claire, which is the name her mom gives her, has Rumple's magic, only hers is not limited by the need to make deals.

(Sidebar: I like to think that Rumple has the most powerful magic, but somehow, at sometime, it was limited so that he needs to make a deal to use it. Or something like that. Claire doesn't have that limitation.)

When she's found out, they banish her to the Isle and basically leave her to rot with her negligent, slightly abusive father. She refuses to stay at home and eventually gets mixed up with Mal and the others, joining their little gang.

She gets to go over to Aurodon with the others and struggles with the hero side of her and the villain side of her, as she was born of both. (She literally has a split personality. Good and Evil)
So that's basically what she's doing throughout the first and second movie.

(Sidebar: the second movie is my least favorite so I didn't really put a lot of effort into including her. She's just sort of there.)

She's closest to Jay in their little group since Mal has Evie and vice versa and Carlos is... Carlos.

In the third one, she starts to feel a little excluded and since her emotions govern which side of her personality she leans towards, she starts to struggle with her evil side - Ruby.

When the others go back to the Isle without her, she goes full villain and attacks them later, when they get back.

They manage to get though to her and she helps them defeat Audrey.

She learns to balance the two sides of her personality and may or may not end up with Jay.
