Branwen Curses
Name: Annabeth Ramone
Age: 17 (when she knew Qrow) 34 ( present day)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance:
Weapon: Because she grew up in the Branwen tribe of bandits, she learned how to use a good many weapons. Her favorites are knives, daggers or anything she can use for stealthy kills and assassin missions. She does have a dagger she keeps on her called ' Nightshade' Which was given to her by Qrow, and it's her favorite weapon, and the one she uses mostly commonly
Semblance- Invisibility: Annabeth can turn parts or all of herself invisible to the naked eye. Any clothes she happens to be wearing turn invisible with her, and she can still see when she's invisible. She can remain invisible for up to twenty minutes, before she must turn visible or she'll lock up and stay in her invisible form forever from there. When she's invisible, unless she's careful, her footsteps and breathing will still be heard by those around her
Backstory: Annabeth was born into the Branwen tribe. Her parents were advisors to the leaders of the tribe, and so she was told to become friends with Qrow and Raven, and form a bond with them so when one of them was leader of the tribe, she would be able to help guide them to victory.
Annabeth loved her role in the tribe, spending entire days reading and then talking with the Branwen Twins. Even if she had more in common with Raven at the time, she still found herself drawn to Qrow, and the feelings of attraction were mutual right from the start.
Although, despite Annabeth having the biggest crush on Qrow, she was very tsundere for him, refusing to be honest with anyone, even herself about the way she felt. She tried to keep him at a distance, so as not to get too close to him and fall in love. And her, getting to spend time with him everyday is what she worked forward to the most.
For Qrow, all he was able to see was Annabeth pushing him away, and so he assumed that it was because of him and because of his Semblance, not noticing the little hints she dropped about wanting to be with him. And so, little by little, he gave up hope it was ever going to happen.
The day before Raven and Qrow went to Beacon, Annabeth knew it was probably going to be the last chance she had. And so before Qrow stepped onto the airship, she kissed him, it being his first kiss. She said she loved him and couldn't be with him, before running away in tears, leaving Qrow the oddest mix of confused, heartbroken and happy.
She would go onto see and hear about Qrow and the adventures of his team, and it always made her feel bittersweet about her choice to let him go, happy because he had a better life without her, and sad because she would always think about the life she could have had with him if she had been a little less stubborn.
Crush: Annabeth is married to a man named Percy, and they do have a stable, if loveless marriage, with a part of her holding onto her love for Qrow
Annabeth talking about Qrow: " He was the best part of everyday. The reason I would get up in the morning. But I was too stubborn. Too afraid. And if I'm being entirely honest, too damn stupid to admit I was in love with him. And then he finally had enough of being pushed away. And he left. And I lost him."
Qrow talking about Annabeth: " Her back. I saw that more than the rest of her. When she'd run off. To go back home. To get something. Or most of the time to leave me. She'd spout an insult. Sometimes she'd mean it. Others she wouldn't. And she'd run off and I'd see her back. I always thought one day I'd see her front when she walked down the isle. But my first kiss with her was a kiss goodbye. And I got a real good look at her back for the last time."
Name: Marco Malone
Age: 18 ( when he knew Raven) 35 ( present day)
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance:
Weapon: Marco grew up in the Branwen tribe of bandits, and so he was able to learn many different forms of weapons to use and fight with. If he was forced to pick a favorite, it would be Archimedes, the spear which was given to him by Raven, though due to his Semblance, he doesn't need a weapon most of the time, but he carried the weapon with him to remember her.
Semblance: Phoenix Fire- Marco had the ability to turn into a Phoenix when he fights due to having been blessed by one when he was a child. In his Phoenix form, he can fly, project flames, heal himself and or others based on what the situation calls for. However, the form is incredibly frail, and so he mainly uses the healing powers and flight for evasion and support.
Backstory: Marcos family also grew up in the Branwen Bandit tribe, along with the Ramone and of course the Branwens. His family had been healers in the tribe, as well as their medics for generations due to all of them having the same Semblance. Marco happened to be a better healer than the rest of them, and so he was assigned to be the personal healer for Qrow and Raven
He ended up having to heal Raven a lot because she always pushed herself too far, or fought opponents stronger than her, and got into bad situations. Still, Marco loved to be a healer, and so he never truly minded having to heal her, and Raven didn't mind either, as she began falling for him more and more.
The two of them were good friends, who would talk about many things, such as the meaning of strength, leadership, or anything of that nature. Raven fell for him more and more everyday, but Marco was just never attracted to her romantically. Marco was able to see her feeling, but tried to hint to her he wasn't interested in the most gentle way possible.
Finally, before Raven left to go to Beacon to become a huntress, and so Marco decided to give her a direct answer, not wanting her to wait for him, or be heartbroken. He broke her heart, and so they lost touch and their friendship.
Crush: Marco is happily married to a girl named Daisy.
Marco talking about Raven- "She was a good friend. And I always felt a little bad for the way it ended, but it had to. You either have it or you don't you know? I think it might have been even worse if did date her and lie to her."
Raven talking about Marco- " I never really expected to be a girly girl. But I was. I tried to find dresses which were pretty for him. Or to impress him. Gods Above, I even tried to flirt with him. And it never happened. It broke my heart. And yet in time, I learned that I should see my own worth before I can expect anyone else. I see my value and I'm happier for it."
Name: Piper Erina
Age: 8 ( When she met Yang) 24 (presently)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Appearance:
Weapon- Piper doesn't have one due to the fact she never wanted to be a huntress in the first place, but she does know some basic self defense and she can shoot firearms and use them sort of well.
Semblance- Plants: Piper can control plants. She's well aware of the ways she could use it lethally, but for the most part, she happens to be content with using it to grow and tend to her garden, or heal flowers and other forms of plants
Backstory: Piper was a friend who Yang met when they went to elementary school and they stayed in touch with her all the way until Yang went to Beacon. The two of them weren't best best friends at first, until they had a gym class with each other. Piper wasn't in amazing shape, so Yang protected her from the people who picked on her such as in games like dodgeball.
As a token of her thanks, Piper helped Yang in language arts, since writing was her speciality, and it was her passion as well. The two of them would help each other when they could, and became closer and closer as time went on, spending their time with each other.
From a young age, Yang was open about being bisexual, and quickly fell for Piper, and her confidence, passion for writing, and how she could keep up with Yangs high energy and puns. The two of them would have made a perfect couple, if not for Piper being straight, meaning it could never work out for them.
When Yang confessed to Piper, Piper rejected her in the kindest way she could, which still ended up breaking Yangs heart. Though, given space and time to heal, Yang moved on and they had a friendship with each other, though more strained. Yang sort of keeps in touch with her, like when Piper was published as a writer, but they don't spend time with each other.
Crush: Piper is happily married to a writer named Ezra.
Piper talking about Yang: " She was my best friend, and someone who took really good care of me because of it. We helped each other and I was so glad to have a friend. If I was into girls, I'd have dated her. But I can't force feelings. I'm a little sorry for what happened though."
Yang talking about Piper: " I don't read all that much, but I watch romance movies, and I know how many childhood friends fall for each other. I guess I wanted that to happen with us, and it didn't. And hell that one hurt. So much. But I realized life isn't a movie and it took time. But I moved on."
Name: Reyna Bellona
Age: 7 ( When she met Jason) 23 (presently)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual
Appearance:
Weapon: Rayna fights with two swords. One of them is interchangeable to her, and it doesn't matter all that much to her, and she had been through many replacements for it before. The other sword is irreplaceable because it was given to her by Jason Branwen. She named it Evening Rain.
Semblance: Will of Fire- Rayna is incredible durable and can take a surprising amount of punishment. She does still feel pain and she does have her limits but she can endure much more than what people would imagine, and she has an incredible amount of aura to go along with her Semblance.
Backstory: Rayna was from a family of huntsman and they were quite famous. One day, when they decided they wanted a peaceful life, they moved back to the home where her parents had grown up, which happened to be right across the street from the house where Yang, Jason and Ruby grew up in. Even if she was on good terms with Ruby and Yang, the real friendship was Jason and Rayna.
They would spend entire days with each other, laughing, joking, playing video games, watching shows and playing card games. When the two of them were older, they would spar to help with their anger issues, and talk about their dreams. All the while, they fell for each other more and more.
Everyone assumed they would end up with each other, and they did flirt with each other, and have romantic chemistry with each other. But both of them assumed she would have all the time in the world to confess to each other, and neither of them were in any particular rush to confess.
One day, Raynas parents were killed by an old enemy, Tyrian Callows. Rayna decided to go on a quest for vengeance and revenge. Jason asked her not to go, or to at least bring him with her. But she decided it was something she needed to do on her own, and so she left, but not before giving him a kiss goodbye.
Crush: Rayna did eventually give up her search for revenge when Jason killed Tyrian, and she married a man named Malcom, though it lacks the passion she had with Jason, but it is happy.
Rayna talking about Jason: " I'll always remember him. How could I not? It was cliche. It was a trope done to death. Falling in love with the boy next door. But Gods, how could I not? His blue eyes shining, black hair blowing in the wind, his mint cologne. And he was strong. I'll always remember when we sparred. I remember wanting him to kiss me. And have it not be a kiss goodbye."
Jason talking about Rayna: " It's funny. How a bad day can become a good one so quickly. The day she and I met...I had been scolded, lectured and lost my wallet. And then I was told we had new neighbors. The Bellonas. And their daughter....Rayna. Gods she was amazing. I'll always remember her. Her black eyes had their own shine. And her green hair, flying in the wind. Her strawberry perfume. I remember sparring with her. And I'd win, and we'd be face to face. She had this smirk. And I could smell her perfume. And I wanted to kiss her. I should have."
