Chapter 3

Third Person POV

*Olympians Throne Room*

"What do you mean a marriage between me and Hazel?" Percy asked, looking back and forth between his father and Hades.

Hades looked confused for a moment before he seemed to think of something. "Oh, I guess mortals don't do weddings anymore, sorry, it means that you will be with each other forever, as husband and wife and...." He tried to continue before Hazel cut him off.

"We know what a marriage is, but last I checked, they didn't do those types of marriages anymore, right?" Hazel started, before directing the ending to Percy who quickly shook his head no.

"Oh, then what is the question about." Hades asked, looking slightly confused.

"Why are you requiring us to be wed? And you said an ultimatum, what was the alternative?" Hazel asked, looking between the older immortals in confusion.

"Oh, it was simple, either they agree to do the marriage or I release all the dead and destroy the living world. " Hades said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"And why would a marriage make me and probably Hazel, more powerful?" Percy asked.

"Because I made a deal, a deal with a deity whose power far surpasses our own." Hades replied

"And what did this deal entail?" Percy asked.

"It ensured that should you and Hazel be married, that you would both be freed of the ancient laws, and you shall both gain power over each other's domains, but not share all domains, and I can grant you both certain powerful sacred animals." Hades replied, once again acting like everything he said was obvious.

"And what would our sacred animals be?" Hazel requested, hoping she would gain who she wanted as her sacred animal, but also knowing it was unlikely.

"For Percy, in order to strengthen the arrangement, I offer Hellhounds as his sacred animal, more precisely Cerberus himself, and his father offers the immortal pegasus as Percy's second sacred animal. Due to these two being your sacred animals, you will also gain the ability to communicate with hellhounds, and all hellhounds will listen to you above all others, and you will gain the ability to sprout wings from your back and fly" Hades stated, before he was interrupted by a certain drama queen.

"What?!? You didn't mention that part!!!" Zeus roared, looking extremely pissed at the thought of a son of Poseidon flying at will, only to be mostly ignored.

"And due to your wings, you will have complete freedom in the skies, and should Zeus attempt to strike you down, it will be an act of treason and war." Hades finished, looking slightly irked at the interruption, and lose of his guard dog.

"But who would guard the underworld?" Hazel asked, noticing her dad's slightly irritated look.

"One of his pups, apparently him and Percy's pet, Mrs. O'leary got a little too friendly, but they had a cute five headed pup that should more than suffice." Hades replied, still looking slightly miffed.

"Mrs. O'leary had pups?!?" Percy yelped, having not expected that.

"Yes, now back to the matters at hand, Hazel, your sacred animal which was agreed upon by himself, Demeter, and Poseidon, to symbolize the end of some eternity old Feuds. Hazel's sacred animal is Arion himself, the immortal son of Poseidon and Demeter, and the fastest horse to ever exist. Which due to him being, well, him, you gain the ability to run significantly faster, not Hermes fast, or Arion fast, but faster than anyone else aside from those two. As well as the ability to speak to horses." Hades replied, before he indicated for Poseidon to take over, so he could get a drink and care for his now parched throat.

"And like Hades said earlier, after the marriage you will gain control of each others domains but not necessarily share all your domains, so hazel will still have precious metal domain to herself, but percy will have some control over precious metal, and Percy will have his domain of water, but Hazel will also gain the ability to control water and everything that comes with that, but it just won't be her domain. And the same applies to your sacred animals, so due to Arion, Percy would gain significantly increased speeds, only being slower than Hermes, Arion, and Hazel herself, and Hazel will gain extreme control over her ability to shadow travel, and the ability to talk to hellhounds, and they will listen to her above anyone else, aside from Percy, and the ability to grow wings from her back and fly with no fear of repercussion from Zeus, for fear of the same outcome as would happen with Percy." Poseidon explained, before drawing in a deep breath, which gave time for Percy's next counterpoint.

"But what about our age, I am close to turning seventeen, and Hazel is only fourteen (Remember this is right after the giant war) "

"Now that's simple, we are just gonna block your ability to change your age, and keep you in the current age you have taken" Poseidon said, indicating their still present 18 year old forms, before he snapped his fingers and sealed off their ability to change their age. "Now you will still be able to change your height and all that, but not your age."

Percy and Hazel shared a look, not really finding any way out of the marriage.

"What if we refuse?" Hazel asked, looking at her father curiously.

"Well it wouldn't really change anything, the whole if you agree was just for appearance, considering it is an arranged marriage." Hades replied, shifting awkwardly at the glares he received from Percy and Hazel, before he glared at the greek demigods who had released small chuckles, and smiled at the romans who glared at the greeks.

Hazel looked over at Percy, before she let her shoulders slouch slightly and sighed in defeat. "I guess it could be worse, you could have made me marry Octavian." Hazel sighing, and shuddering at the thought of Octavian.

"Well, this actually serves two purposes." Demeter said, finally deciding to join the conversation. "This marks both a peace between Hades and the Olympians, and a peace between the Romans and the greeks."

"If it is peace with Hades and Olympus, then shouldn't he and Hestia be added to the council?" Percy asked

"How did you come up with that outcome?" Hera asked, seemingly caught off guard and wanting to join the discussion.

"Well Hades for obvious reasons, he is the orchestrator of this marriage, and Hestia because, well, it's Hestia." Percy said, like it was the most obvious thing ever.

"I suppose that could work, all in favor?" Hera stated, before directing the ending towards the council, and earning a majority vote with only three voting against. "Vote passed, welcome to the council!"

"Wait, I just realised something." Hazel said, looking between the Olympians. "You kept specifying that me and Percy would be on the power level of an Olympian."

"Yes I did." Hades said, nodding in agreement.

"Does that mean we will be added to the council?" Hazel asked, throwing Percy a confused look when he shuddered at the question.

"No." Zeus said, glaring at the rest of the council who looked like they wanted to object, and drawing a grumble of outrage from the Greeks and slight glares from the Romans. "You will not have a place on the council at this moment in time."

"Yes!" Percy said, doing a quick fist pump.

"Is that everything?" Hera asked, looking between Hades, Poseidon, Percy, and Hazel.

"What about last names?" Percy asked.

"You will be immortal, so you won't have last names anymore."

"Ok, and what about godly forms, like roman and greek?" Hazel prompted.

"Since you are both known by both greek and romans in your current names, you will only have one form."

"and what about our symbols of power?" Percy asked, noting that that hadn't been covered.

"Well for you, you will have riptide, and Hazel will have her calvary sword." Poseidon stated.

"Alright." Percy said, looking at Hazel who still looked uneasy, but nodded nonetheless.

"Perfect! So with the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife, now get out of my throne room!" Hera declared, before a bright light did just that, kicked everyone out of the throne room and sent them to their respective homes or palaces.
