Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Third Person POV
*Olympian Throne Room*
As we stare upon the peaceful throne room of the gods, and we listen to the soft crackle of the fire and the content sigh of the immortal who guards the flames, we are interrupted by a bright flash, signalling the arrival of the Olympian gods and goddesses.
"Demigods!" Zeus Bellowed, growing to his godly height, "We have gathered you all here to celebrate a war long fought, a war of unimaginable importance! And we are here to congratulate us Olympians for a job well done!"
"You Olympians?!?" A demigod yelled, causing his fellow demigods to back away in fear, "You Olympians? Was it you Olympians who traversed through Rome and found the Athena Parthenos? Was it you Olympians who traveled through Tartarus to close the doors of death? Was it you Olympians who watched your friends and family, those you grew up with die in battle to protect their parents?"
"Perseus!" Zeus growled, glaring down at the dark hair demigod, "Do not interrupt me!"
"What's the saying in Britain?" The demigod now known as Perseus asked, "Oh right, PISS off! You don't scare me Zeus! We just fought to defeat your enemy! We watched our friends and family die! Or did you forget about your son, Jason who died because you were too busy gloating that you had hit your bane with a lightning bolt? You didn't even kill the prick! You have just hit him, and due to that Jason had to jump in front of a spear to save YOUR life!"
"Perseus!" Zeus growled again, glaring down at the demigod. But it was too late, Perseus was on a roll.
"Or did you forget about Piper, you know your son's girlfriend, who also died protecting you when you got knocked on your ass by your bane? Or your daughter Thalia, who almost lost her life defending you!" Perseus yelled, indicating the wounded daughter or Zeus, who was being tended to by a girl in silver. "Or maybe you forgot about the son of mars, you know, Frank, the one you killed during your showboating when me and Poseidon defeated your bane?"
"He shouldn't have got in my way!" Zeus roared, not seeming to care about the demigod he killed.
"He wasn't in your way! He was trying to take down a giant!"
"It doesn't matter." Zeus replied, not seeing the dangerous glint in Persues's eyes.
"Doesn't matter? Doesn't matter?!? Did it matter when my girlfriend died drying to draw out a plan that you kept interrupting her own, which caused her to not notice the spear heading straight for her? Did it matter when Nico, the son of Hades died from over use of powers because you refused to strike down his fathers bane, when his father was busy fighting a different giant? Did it matter when half of the demigod population was whipped out when Gaea rose? Or did it matter when me and Hazel had to take on Gaea ourselves because you said she was beneath you? Or did it matter when our fathers had to defy the ancient laws and send us more power to ensure that we could in fact defeat Gaea?" Perseus roared, glaring up at the king of the gods.
Zeus's hand twitched towards his master bolt, before the calming hand of his wife stopped him.
"He is just distressed, carry on with the ceremony, dear."Hera said, not wanting to see anymore of her family die, bastards or not.
Zeus grumbled in irritation, before he straightened himself back up. "Where was I, before I was so rudely interrupted?"
"You were about to give out rewards." Poseidon said, not wanting to listen to Zeus rant about nonsense.
"Yes yes, your right. For the demigods of camp half blood and new rome, I give you all a way to quickly go back and forth between the two camps!" Zeus declared, not seeing the slightly irritated look from some of the demigods.
"Thalia Grace! Please step forward!" Zeus bellowed, wanting to reward his only demigod first.
"Yes father?" Thalia asked, spitting out the word father like it was a disease, though Zeus didn't seem to hear that.
"For your efforts in the war you are to be made into the Olympian goddess of Family, Hunt, and Combat!" Zeus declared, before he quickly blasted her with power before she could say a word.
"Say what?!?" Thalia yelled, glaring at her father, before her attention was drawn away by her sister.
"Come Thalia, your throne shall be next to me." Artemis said, sending Thalia a caring look, "You shall join me, as co leader of the hunt."
"Yes, sister." Thalia said, tipping her head, before she begrudgingly walked over to the temporary throne.
"Hazel Levesque!" Zeus bellowed, casting the daughter of pluto a distasteful look. "For your efforts in the war, we remove your curse, may you live in peace. And we won't send you back to the underworld."
This less than fair gift, seemed to urk a certain dark hair demigod more than the others, but before he could say anything, the throne room was suddenly turned from a brightly lit room, to a room of pure darkness.
"You dare!" Three voices bellowed, one significantly deeper than the rest, before the shadows receded and showed the sources of the voices.
Standing in the middle of the throne room was Pluto, roman king of the underworld; Proserpina, Roman queen of the underworld; and Hecate, titaness of magic, and crossroads.
"You dare mock her contributions!" Pluto growled, growing to his godly height, which was slightly taller than Zeus. "You dare give her such a pitiful gift, when she helped defeat Gaea herself, but you grant your daughter immortality, for what, leading a band of archers?!? No offense Artemis."
"Thalia did more than enough to earn her immortality, it's not my fault that your daughter hasn't done enough." Zeus said, trying to act unfazed by his brothers glare.
"That is it!" Pluto bellowed, releasing a strong wave of power that knocked every mortal, besides Perseus and Hazel off their feet, and sent Zeus tumbling into his throne. "I have had enough of you trying to push me around! Brother, it's time for a change."
"Oh really? And what did you have in mind?" Zeus asked mockingly, "I won't grant your daughter immortality, if that's what you're thinking."
"I don't need to grant her immortality, I can do it myself."
Zeus glared at his brother with pure loathing, "You don't have the authority to give her random domains!"
"Who said anything about them being random?" pluto asked, looking towards his wife who had just got done having a mental conversation with Demeter, and receiving a nod in confirmation. "Hazel, my dear, please step forward."
Hazel looked around nervously, before she felt a calming hand placed on her shoulder which caused her to look at the slightly older and significantly more imposing form of Perseus.
"It's ok Haz."Perseus said, giving her a slight push. "Nothing will go wrong."
Hazel still looked nervous, but after receiving another nod from her friend, she took a small step forward.
"Yes father." Hazel asked, dipping her head slightly.
"Rise, daughter. For your efforts in the war I grant you the most fitting domains. For your efforts I give you my domain of Precious metals, I name you the heir of Hecate and give you the domain of magic. And for your final gift." Pluto stopped, indicating his wife to step forward.
"For your final gift, me and my mother offer you the domain of earth, since it came from both of us, neither of us lose our control over earth, but you now are raised to the power of an olympian" Proserpina said, before Hazel was met with four different beams of power, which pushed her back a few steps.
As silence fell upon the throne room, the least likely demigod was the first to kneeled.
"All hail!" Perseus declared, smiling at his friend, "Hazel levesque, Goddess of Precious Metals, Magic, and Earth!"
